Back in 5th grade, the 2 things I was obsessed with more than anything else were Nerf and Destiny, and I still remember being so desperate for an Ace of Spades blaster that I used to take the stock out of my Sledgefire to make it look like a handcannon. It’s such an insane moment to now be in the last days of my first college semester, studying film and and animation (with the goal of actually working for Bungie), and finally seeing a real Nerf Ace of Spades. You were always my favorite Nerf reviewer when I was a kid, glad to see you’re still doing what you love!

This alone completely fulfilled my optimistic wishes for Nerf's 2024. Was sorry to see Drac's box came with bashed corners, but once he ripped off that sleeve I realized his blaster won't be sitting in the Vault like mine will. Surprised he didn't mention the positive play factor before the batteries went in (beyond its better spinnability).

Was super hyped to get my hands on one myself, and love that even the reload is d2 accurate. It is one of my go to Trials weapons, the artist really did a great job. Just an aside, the motors are non standard stockade style ones, unlikely much can be done internally. Rumor however has it a certain silver fox has stls for cylinders that convert it to half darts.

The barrel being low doesn't make sense on a Nerf gun but it makes perfect sense on a real gun as the barrel axis will be so low that recoil would be reduced substantially.

Not the greatest fan of the grip shape, it has a lump up top where it feels like it should have been a dent, but it needs it for game accuracy and to have space for the upside down spades logo. Also the hammer could have been a bit bigger, I wear xxl gloves and that's still a pretty big reach for me, but again, game accuracy. Overall great looking blaster, would be nice if they use this reload system again in other blasters

The word mateba is French so it has varying pronunciations depending on the part of the world you live in. I've always heard it as "maw-tay-buh" but some ppl say "muh-tee-buh" (muh freebram). If I had to guess "maw-tay-buh" is the way to pronounce it and "muh-tee-buh" is the American Neanderthal way of pronouncing it. Like the Garand.

Mateba I only pronounce Mah-tay-buh because that's the only way I've heard it pronounced. And that's ultimately the deciding factor, which way I've heard it most.

This thing is ridiculously oversized. Somewhere between 50% and 100% too big relative to the in game reference. Therefore not a good prop, and also not a particularly good blaster sidearm. But I'm puzzled - where is the fleur-de-lis ⚜on this? Perhaps he was looking at the spade motif?♠
