The voting system in ESC is (since 2016) 50% Jury 50% Televote. This year the Jury put Loreen 1st and Käärijä 4th, Televote put Käärije 1st and Loreen 2nd. Put together she won. The consiracy people make it sound like no one voted for Loreen in the Televote but that is just not true.

Nobody claims no one voted for Loreen in the televote. The fact that she got such absurd amount of jury votes compared to anyone else is what people base their conspiracy theories on. I think the result was very weird, she was in no way that much better than the competition. She was good, and the song is very good, no doubt about that. The final performance wasn't that strong but the jury bases their votes on a rehearsal so it doesn't matter that she sang poorly in the final.

Loreen totally deserved to win, unfortunately, she gets a lot of negative comments and hate for this. She is the first woman to win Eurovision twice . It's worth listening to the other song, it's called Euphoria she won in 2012 with this song

I will! This song kept coming up on TikTok and I was like “I’m in love!” I’m a huge symphonic metal fan so it was her powerful voice that lured me in. I think it’s sad people were so mean towards her. You cannot deny the performance was epic. There was a lot of fierce talent this year. So, of course it was gonna be a tough call.

I mean, objectively she didn’t deserve to win, mostly because what made her win was the jury not following their criteria (several musicians have made videos about this) and if they did her score wouldn’t’ve been high enough to beat Käärijä’s massive televote. There’s no denying that. HOWEVER, she as a person doesn’t the deserve the hate, she’s just an artist doing her best. Could’ve she been a bit selfless and not participated so another artist who has never participated/won could go to Eurovision and win? Sure, but she doesn’t own anyone that, and she can participate as many times as she wishes. Also let’s talk about how she wouldn’t be getting this amount of hate if she was a man, especially if Käärijä was a woman. People just don’t want to see a woman beat a man and that’s a problem too. Anyways, the only people who deserve criticism is the jury and the EBU for letting this happen but they realized their mistake and are apparently making changes to the jury for next year so there’s no reason to keep the hatred going. It sucks that Käärijä got robbed of his victory and that Loreen got so much hate but we can’t change what happened in the final and we gotta move forward

Loreen is another level perfomer/artist/singer, I got the chills everytime I saw her performance. I had the privilege to travel from Mexico to Sweden and Finland to her tour and it was amazing. Yes, she's maybe more famous because of ESC buuut she's an amazing artist.

Great reaction 👍 People often talk about how they want to hear the studio version but I have to say that the studio version is a bit flat! I’ve heard it so many times on the radio and I fails to deliver that feeling of pain, sorrow, sadness and frustration that the live version do without watching the performance! The studio version tells a story that a lot people can relate to, how ever the live version makes you believe in her feelings… Absolutely amazing.

My top2 from this year ESC was the actual top2 at the end. Käärijä's song is amazing for the sounds and the energy but Loreen was voice, body and soul on the stage, she sold a sensorial experience in 3 mins and I think both Jury and Televoters got it (she was most of the time 2nd and 3rd in televoters) so she deserves it, this time and the many times I watch her or listen to her sing. She is out of this world!

Totally deserved to win! Cha cha was a nice/funny song but the singer wasn’t the best vocalist… ESC is a song contest and singers must win! Loreen has the amazing vocals, her staging is always out of this world… The truth is that at the national final in Sweden the staging and the camera work was wayyyyy better! I don’t want didn’t work in Liverpool but they messed her up🥲 The box was a lot smaller and she could dance as well as the national final at Melodifestivalen. The led-light wasn’t the best also. At Melodifestivalen the stage was like a different dimension… the smoke and the background lights created an ethereal atmosphere. In Liverpool there wasn’t smoke just smoke effect on the video wall behind… The song was an tribute to her Moroccan heritage. Loreen’s family moved to Sweden from Morocco. She is descended from a Moroccan tribe called Amazigh which means free people! On the box she is standing there is sand from Morocco. The smoke looking like the sandstorms in Morocco and her fingernail were made using local gems and stones from Morocco. The Amazigh tribe is very famous for their tribal tattoos! The different symbols we see on the wall are Amazigh tattoo symbols!

I really like the studio recording of Tattoo but her vocal performance in this final was really poor. All mumbling and shouting. Good for her that the jury based their vote on the rehearsals a day or two before instead of the actual final performance. Or, actually, they had probably decided to vote for her way before the actual competition... I do like the Predator vs Freddy Krueger hair/nails combo on her costume :D You should check out this performance from the Melodifestivalen final where they chose her to represent Sweden at Eurovision to see what I mean about her singing. Both songs were great but i think the overall performance was the desiding factor and i´m sure ppl gonna hate this but when u look at Käärijä´s performance they acted like clowns through out half the performance. It is clearly designed to be a chock piece designed to be just remembered. The song was great not denying that but the performance could have been taken from a circus. Hade the dancing not been so clowny i bet they would have won.

Yeah the only reason the judges voted for Loreen is because next year is the 50th anniversary of Abba winning Eurovision so they all wanted it to be in Sweden. If you go by the Fan votes, which is what it should be, Finland wiped the floor with her. Don’t get me wrong the song is good, but not good enough to win.

Let me just say something with a specific example… Dami Im wiped the floor with jury votes (320 points) in 2016 but she didn’t receive enough tele-votes to win. Sergey wiped the floor with televotes (361 points)! But didn’t receive enough jury points to win. This has happened almost every year where sometimes the jury winner nor the televote winner wins. It’s points added up together. Loreen only received 20 more points than Dani Im but still won because she had a high number of televotes AND jury votes. This means she won because A LOT of people wanted her to win on BOTH sides whereas with Sergey, Dani, and Käärija it was primarily one side that was rooting for them more. I can bring up many more years where televote winners/jury winners didn’t win because of numbers added together (which is not a hard concept) but maybe many people don’t care because they want to keep up the fake narrative that Loreen had some evil sadistic plan from the start haha.
