I think the Mayor is jumping way ahead. People are not even through this tragedy, she's talking like it's over. And it's NOT just about building a new home, it's the content that is gone forever. Some of the things people have in their home could be their parents, their grandparents, even their great-grandparents things, and they could mean a great deal to the homeowners. Family heirlooms. CHILDREN that have been deceased previous to the fire, their belongings, it's absolutely indescribable what people are going to have to go through and feel. 💔😓

literally anything. When you have 100 mile per hour winds mixed with dry conditions something as small as a cigarette being left on the ground or a single ember from a camp fire hitting a dry leaf could turn into a raging fire. With 100 mile per hour winds the fire can spread at a speed of over 40 miles per hour, quiet literally faster then someone can run at full speed spreading the fire 100s of acres in minutes. The winds have died down a lot but now with such large out of control fires the fires themsevles make their own convection currents because they are simple that huge this thrusts embers high into the air and spreading them elsewhere which hit more dry areas dozens of miles away (upwards of 30 miles in some cases) starting fires in those spots. This isnt a person or some conspiracy theory this is just the physics of fires when they are this large in the perfect enviorment for fires to take hold (strong winds and drought like conditions).

Just let everyone know Los Angeles cover 467.7 square miles, and from Northern California to San Diego is 155,000+ square miles. Any fire that is out of control os devastating to not only the residents impacted, but the wildlife, and to the 1st responders. Let me put this out here, our government left 89 billion dollars of our tax payers dollars in military equipment in afganhistan, and gave 789 million in military aide to Ukraine and another 78 million to Taiwan that is almost 90 billion that could have been used to purchase the vacant Marine Corps El Toro to turn it into an all out wildfire suppression unit, imagine what type of fire fighting aircraft that could have been bought with $90 billion dollars,so how would that have worked, at the 1st sign of smoke they would launch 10 water dropping aircraft to the area to suppress any fire. Knowning fully well that during this time of year wild fires are highly likey to happen.

The tapid use drpleted the volumetric pressure needed to push it through the vast, often uphill pipe system- which is damaged from the fire itself. We get our water from the Owens Valley, not up north with the endangered smelt fish. We have received no rain, the fire ecology chaparral is thick from the previous storms. You cant rake millions of acres of rugged mountain terrain. The failure to improve our systems has happened under both Democrats and Republicans..
