I used to watch this show every afternoon after school I loved it this and star trek unfortunately sometimes the movies don't them any justice I like the star trek movies but the lost in space movie was ok but still love the original especially the robot it was a big seller as a toy

In an interview given by Jonathan Harris, he talks about when he was negotiating billing in the credits. The credit opening sequence had already been filmed for the pilot; Zachary Smith had not featured in it and because producer Irwin Allen refused to change the sequence for the series itself, Harris realised he would not be 'a star role'. But he managed to pull off a bit of a coup with the cantankerous Allen. After reading scripts and thinking this was a role he could excel in, he phoned the producer and suggested why not adding his name after the main credits with 'Special Guest Star. Jonathan Harris' After much cursing and expletives, Allen agreed so in a way Harris got the star treatment and insured his name was featured as 'Star'. Shrewd move😈
