This Anejo has strong and bold barrel flavors, a little caramel, honey, spice, nutmeg and other strong but balanced and delicious flavors. When you see that it's been certified additive free by TMM, you realize, that you can make a tequila that has all these flavors, and be clean. The fact is, it's been aged two years, which is way longer than it needs to be, to be an anejo, and it's picking up all those clean notes, without any funny stuff. In all honesty this brand is doing it right, and is the best thing they've made so far.

Been repping their Repo for a while now. Since most of the "celebrity" stuff is junk it makes this one have an uphill battle. Just saw the new bottle the other day near me, but grabbed a couple other bottles that were higher up on my list. Will be returning to snag one of these anejos very soon!

The reposado was my least favorite of the line. This Anejo though, is a whole 'nother story. It's so flavorful, it could be mistaken for suspect, if it wasn't for the certification from TMM. Makes it so much nicer to drink after knowing that

@@longislandloutequila7208 I'm mostly a blanco and anejo/XA guy, rarely do I go for repos unless they are something special. For some reason in my state, where we barely get any good tequilas as it is, we almost never get the anejos or XAs of the good brands. Only see blancos/repos for Ocho, Siete Leguas, etc. I didn't see the blanco or mezquila for Santo for many months and only could find the repo. It is light but I found it to be quite tasty and vegetal and for whiskey drinkers it seems to be a good bridge to more expensive anejos/XAs if they are shy about blancos because they are used to harsh crap. LOL

I never buy more than one bottle at a time, regardless how many are on the store shelf. I've gotten some at the Fortaleza store the many times I've been there, and been collecting them for many years. I just don't drink through them as fast as others😁. It's one of my favorite brands

Hey Lou I know your obviously a diehard tequila guy but I feel like you would be awesome at food reviews. You have a great aura about you.your good at describing flavors and aromas. You seem like you do well for yourself and you could care less about the money as you say. But I think you have the ability to create a huge following and audience.I see a bunch of these KZbin channel with a crap ton of subscribers but they have the personality of a cardboard box. You would be brilliant!

Thank you, and I'd be very interested in doing stuff like that, but I don't have the connections. I'd have a lot more followers if I bought mine, like so many others, but I refuse to do that. I don't think it's right. If you ever run into anybody that wants to hire me to do any kind of commercials not related tequila, I'd be glad to, as I could use the money. I just don't want to change my independent reputation, doing anything like that for tequila. I appreciate the compliment❤️

Wow, a 90? Virginia ABC stores have early pricing at $75. I had the blanco and repo at 80 and 83, respectively. Seems like an impressive leap up from the reposado. Cant wait to pick one up.

Yes, without a doubt, it is it's the best of the line, which I mentioned on both reviews. The short one is for Tik-Tok and KZbin, and the long one, which is here on KZbin. NOTE- the TMM panel rated this at 90 and higher.

It's sweet with caramel, but when you realize its aged for twice the minimum length for an anejo, you'll realize that it picks up a lot of the barrel notes. and it's legitimate, as it is completely certified. additive free

El Mayor products are good, but nothing exceptional, with possibly additives. Don't buy celebrity brands, support the little guys

@frankmurillo422 I completely understand what you are saying, as most of the time you can actually find better quality from a smaller producer. Respectfully, that is actually just a bit short sighted. Let me explain why. First off, none of the "celebrity brands" are actually being MADE by the celebrities, they are being made by the NOM and its employees (you know the actual little guys). Secondly, Not all of the little guys are doing right and are additive free. Lastly, we should support any brand that makes Tequila the RIGHT WAY, regardless of celebrity backing or not. Celebrity backed brands have a bad reputation and with good reason. Many of these brands take shortcuts. They use chemically processed young agave and additives which result in terrible representations of Tequila and should be avoided. Just remember, that a lot of these brands are coming from NOMs that are doing it for multiple brands. Also, not every celebrity backed brand is doing it the wrong way. So we need to pay attention to the NOMs, and give the ones that are doing it the right way a solid chance and reward them when the product is worthy. Celebrity brands are here to stay so we might as well promote the good ones. My actual spending agrees with you as my dollars seem to stick to NOMs like 1123, 1414, 1108, 1493 and 1579. With that said, even thought it is generally a red flag when a brand has a celebrity attached, I won't dismiss all celebrity brands outright just because they are backed by a celebrity. Insolito and De Nada, for example, are great additive free value options. Even the overpriced Codigo 1530 is a respectable brand that is additive free. I won't buy it not because of the celebrity, but because I can find better quality and price. But I wouldn't be mad if I was gifted a bottle of Codigo 1530. Just don't give me Teremana, 818, or anything else whether its celebrity endorsed or not that isn't additive free for that manner.

This is made at a very respectable distillery, just like a few other celebrity Brands. To be honest with you, Sammy knows more about tequila than probably 90% of the people that drink tequila

You mentioned De Nada, although Danny's dad Liam doesn't have anything to do with it, it's not considered a celebrity tequila, and again even if it was, it's made at Vivanco

I need to at least try Juan Lobo because Vivanco has never disappointed me, and I didn't realize JL was made there.

@@longislandloutequila7208 Could of been a small chance I got a bad one. I was really excited because I found it for $45. Poured 1/2 down the drain it tasted like rubber. Scored it in the 50s on TMM
