When you get banned, they are extremely rude. Even my sales associate whom I loved and brought a lot of business to. I reached out after receiving a letter and never got a text again. I try to avoid returns when I didn’t like a bag so I would resell it and lose hundreds of dollars in the process. Most of my items were canvas and I purchased well over 20,00 worth of items in one year only to get banned. The only thing good that came out of this is that it has forced me into the resale market there for saving me that money that I once lost.

I am from the UK. I have just been banned from LV because I have exceeded the buying limit which I knew nothing about. They sent me an email as if I am a thief. I wish I had not gone past the 30 days of return. I will never buy from them again. Banned for two years. I am not surprised at the way they treated you unfortunately. I am sorry you went through that because in the shop when they decline you it’s heartbreaking. Specially when LV is something you treat yourself to😢

Because you lead with the conclusion: "they lied"' you're telling not letting the management form the conclusion. Then it's an affront to their authority so they harden position against you. They want to believe the easiest explanation to them. The problem you have is proving your claim. So if you lead by: I wanted the bag. I asked for the bag, they wouldn't allow me to buy it. Why? Then the onus is on them to explain why they wouldn't let you, what is their explanation. Because they didn't have one. If you stick to these basic facts then the truth emerges more diplomatically. I haven't seen the 3rd video yet but it's shaping up as a battle of egos which often the outsider loses. I've had various scenarios of this and unless you're recording the exchange they're basically protected. In the end you have to do a cost benefit analysis.

So sorry you experienced this. I was traveling this summer and went to a LV store and wanted to purchase a cosmetic case gm and first was given a snob response I assume was because I was asking for a small item then she keep pushing shoes on me and wanting me to try them on and I never showed any interest in shoes. When I went to buy the case, she said she could not find me in the system and asked if a was a customer though I am standing in front of her wearing my pochette metis with a bandeau tied on and my LV sunglasses. I have bought loads in store and online for 4 years but she could not find me? She acted like she did not want to help me or make a sale. I wish I had asked for another SA.

I recommend that you go to your local boutique and have your regular SA look into your info and your purchase history,,I had a bad experience because someone with my same name in Los Angeles ( I live in the Dominican Republic) was purchasing under my account and “Thank God” that my SA and the boutique manager knows me and could fix the problem but I was declared “Banned from shopping “ because of the mistake.

They have to be reading it wrong. I ordered an LV item and I returned and it shows in the system but it shows as a transaction. You have to go into the item and see that it is a return. That’s really ridiculous that they don’t even know their own system.

@@SuperDacob No, I didn’t, I bought one Speedy back in 2017, that was it, and no, I didn’t buy 30 bags, but I do recall calling my local boutique and when they pulled up my profile, they mentioned a Speedy that I didn’t own but didn’t think anything of, someone has been using my profile. I almost fainted 😊. The manager came over, she was very kind and gave me an email address in France to email and what to tell them.

The same weird thing happened to me...I did not understand then, but now everything makes sense... I purchased multiple items online, and evecourse I created an account on my name... After a couple of months, I wanted to buy something new, and I was surprised that on my name, there were some other purchases made with my account data. I researched, and I saw that the purchases are made from another country( Lichtenstein, to be specific). I asked one sales associate, but he told me that he could not help me and I had to call the LV customers service. I forgot to do that, and now, after seeing this video, there is a possibility that my account data has been used for selling items from some sales associates... Thank you very much for this video. It helped me to realize that... I will make a call and will try to go to the bottom of this...

I’ve always had fair and respectful service at LV. But they do always want to push the leather. I have one leather piece I use for work. It’s the black leather neverfull. But canvas is my go to for LV. The worst service I’ve personally experienced was at a Chanel in California. I went a block away from Chanel to Dior, and got premium treatment. I really think it depends on the SA and the area.

Did they tell you on what dates you supposedly bought these bags? Or were they saying you can only buy 3 monogram bags from the popular list in a given time period? I always find it funny when companies don't want to sell what customers actually want to buy and want to try and train the customer but with LV they've been trying to wean customers off the canvas for at least 20 years I've been buying from them. But we don't want anything else *from them*

This is the problem with how businesses are moving towards automation and relying just on systems that can be flawed and can't calculate that you returned your bag. Of course having flags for resellers is beneficial, but these technical errors happen all the time. Thats why there is that in-person human experience with a sales associate that should be able to override these technical glitches.

Sorry to hear your experience. Don’t worry you’re not alone. My husband is blocked too for 2 years. We even framed our Ban letter as a joke. The letter said we reached our limit but of course because our SA kept offering us bags and RTWs. We are collectors and loved the keepAll bags, we have 7 within 3 years andI have different never full bag of different collections. Our SA during that time is in school and we were trying to help her indirectly by meeting her quota. We didn’t know about the limit and we were VIPs,they always had a Christmas gift for us every year, in the end we got banned. And i think the ban was the best thing that happened to us because it made us realize they’re not the only luxury products out there. I am not sure it can ever support them back again after what happened to us. Can’t wait for your part 2.

Coming from someone who’s worked multiple luxury retails… 1) You’re not the only person in the world with your name. When they look you up, sometimes multiple people come up. 2) the online order and in store order are not linked. Just because your address is online, doesn’t mean it’s on the in store system. It only shows that for you as a customer on your LV app. 3) LV limits the amount of certain products you can buy in a certain period. Someone else could have bought under your phone number. You never know. “Hacked your account” no one is coming after you. They don’t care that much. 3) it’s a bag. It’s not that serious. This is sounding like a very simple interaction where you were over reacting and assuming people are coming after you. 4) since Covid, LV has been very strict about giving out beverages. And, boutiques don’t always the same options that larger stores do. Again, not a personal thing about you like you seem to think everything is. 5) they didn’t offer to sell it to your friend, but you also didn’t ask. You can’t put all the blame on them. Not saying some things may not have been done wrong on their part, but this is also seeming like some overly entitled behavior which is why it seems like such an insult.

And most of the assessments you made are not always correct nor are they always the case. 8) You implying you know what happened without knowing what truly happened is as shallow as a person’s assessment can be. This is so disappointing to hear, Dacob. So sorry for this experience. I just want to mention that the stores in the US have NEVER offered me a water or champagne. Even when I’m buying a bag and a couple SLGs in the same transaction. But I’ve noticed they always seem to be offering drinks and their attempts to make a “luxury experience” for other customers. These customers always seem to fit a certain type, and almost always when a woman is accompanied by a man. The only time I’ve ever been given that type of luxury experience (offered champagne, offered a seat, CA not rushing me, etc) was in Paris. Maybe I got lucky that day. But every shopping experience at LV should be like that. Looking forward to Part 2 and hope it has a positive resolution.

Before the pandemic they used to offer drinks, coffee, miniature perfume bottles as freebies just for passing by the shop without buying anything. But now its like a supermarket: go in, tell them immediately what you are looking for. No browsing around. Pay and leave and if you are lucky they will give you two vial perfume samples with purchase. Not miniature bottles. Done. The system has changed and become more mass and less luxury for sure.

I live in the US, and have never been offered a beverage, a seat or anything in an LV store. I don't have a certain look of 'privilege', either... at the time I did wonder if my appearance was responsible for the 'lack of frills' approach I received. One time I was in an LV store with a large shopping bag from Burberry, the SA's insisted that they'd hold my bag behind the front desk; my comfort or their concern over shop lifting?? I've made one purchase and then returned a bag, the rest of my LV I've bought from reputable resale, like Fashionphile. No more snotty SA's, to look me over and pass judgement.

This is terrible I’m so sorry! And I know exactly how you feel. I just recently purchased the new leather side trunk and when it arrived it looked as though it had been used so I set up a return. When it arrived back to them they said they would not accept the return because I damaged it and the sent it back to me, and the manager I spoke to online so super rude to me. I was in shock, luckily I sent photos to my online CA as well as my in store CA so I called them and told them what was going on. And they said no worries they have my back and just send it back again and they will accept the return. Long story short, I just received my refund and it’s over now. But now I’m nervous to ever purchase again and it gave me such a bad feeling since I’ve been such a loyal client. I totally feel your pain😭.

I’m so sorry this happened to you Dacob. It’s such a shame in the world today how people treat one another. And I would be concerned as well regarding CC and my account etc… I had them in 2020 tell me I could not purchase a Bumbag cuz I had bought SLGs (diff ones ) online all for myself I am a collector too and use them daily …she was making accusations as if i was up to no good … I got my Bumbag and talk to my SA as well and she felt awful as I am a good costumer too. It feels so bad when someone accuses u of trying to cheat a system that u actually respect … can’t wait for part two🦋💞

WOW that sounds very strange and shady. 😢 What a disgrace being treated this way. I truly hope you are doing OK now and your account has not been subject to hacking. I‘ve been a victim of ID fraud twice already and it‘s really frightening. Hope all will be sorted with Louis again and you‘ll have your creditable Reputation back soon of being a legit and frequent buyer of their goods. 2012, that’s ten years of purchase history. Being called a liar just tops off this outrageous story. 🤯 And utter bogus to hear they want to get rid of their Canvas. 🤬 It‘s what made LV become what it is now now - made by Louis Vuitton‘s son as tribute to his father. Why get rid of their roots? Really unbelievable.

First off you look fantastic Dacob. Secondly I am very sorry to hear what had transpired to you with LV & the way they treated you. I unfortunately do not recall who this influencer was but about 6 months ago I watched a video with a women who also was not allowed to purchase more then 3 bags @ her local LV. But the issue was she returned 2 of them. So the LV system was wrong. It seems similar to what you went thru. Just horrible customer service thru & thru 😢

This story you just shared might be the answer to my weird purchase history on my LV profile😮 I bought a speedy 20 last month on the LV website and when I clicked into my purchase history on their website, I noticed 2 bags that I never bought before!!! You totally explain it right there in this video, how sneeky of them!😱

@@NinaNinaNB It didn’t cause me any problem since I don’t buy LV often, maybe 1 piece per year. So maybe that’s why it happened? At first I thought maybe some SA made a mistake. I also hope this won’t happen to anyone else because I can imagine how difficult it would be to “persuade” the LV employees to look into this mistake to fix😥

My wonderful friend, just this week at Louis Vuitton Polanco México I was treated like garbag because I wanted to return REVERSE MONOGRAM POCHETTE MÉTIS. They told me that I could no longer return it . Note I bought it a month ago. Spoiler alert this LV bag sulks!

Girl wow that’s crazy But tbh as a brown person I’m use to being treated like shit at ANY high end designer store, even at MACYS the employees at the perfume counters are so fucking rude and shady. This last Xmas I returned everything I got because after making my purchases I noticed that my items were given to me in regular plastic macys bags and everyone else around me was receiving branded logo bags and lil freebies and samples and ribbons and I didn’t get even a smile….a macys associate even put in her phone number to get my points and i told her before handing my cash over “babe it never asked for my number” and she said “oops” and I saw her delete it and then ask for mine.

Knowing more product information than an average client, especially about Canvas, definitely flags you as potential reseller to CAs. That’s part of their training. In bigger stores, CAs deal with this all the time. In this small store, the poor associate probably never dealt with it and didn’t know how to get out of the situation. Have compassion for people on the other side of the register, who are just doing their job. No they don’t now every single product in the thousands of products, and no they don’t always know how to deal with sticky situations such as potential reseller

What an awful experience. I suppose it’s a case of people trusting more the software and computers in front of them than the person and honoring the customer experience. Bad form from LV. I blame this on the resale market and the harm it does for retail and loyal customers. Because SA’s are wary of them and perhaps they pegged you as one.

I dont know what happen with your visit, maybe just bad luck. However i can relate somewhat, the culture in LV is a class caste system. They treat you by the amount you spent, mind you, i am shopper of other brands especially Dior. Dior does not behave cocky like the ones in LV. LV sales associate culture is quite toxic… long story…
