Hello Dacob, here in Mexico this concept had already been used in the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, there were large boutiques or high-end shopping centers where the wealthiest clients had rooms reserved for private fashion shows, without being "disturbed." due to the presence of other people outside their family or circle of friends, they were spaces by appointment where only very wealthy regular clients, associate sellers, jewelers and designers of the fashion collection they presented and the models entered, and I don't think this was normal only here but in many other countries. I've seen some classic Mexican and USA movies from those decades that show how "wealthy clients" lived these luxury experiences, while the same collection was shown to other clients in more crowded rooms at the same time. It's not something new, maybe the furniture and decor used there, LOL! It's a way of doing business so those big expenders who need to be treated that way feel like the experience is theirs alone, these brands are just revisiting the concept.

One of the Prada locations in Vegas has several SA's that should be selling used cars, That is the vibe they give off. When you said "barfing from within" I nearly spit out my coffee. Thanks for brightening my morning.

Ngee Ann City is a huge luxury shopping building of 6 floors always buzzing with tourists from all over the world. A quiet sanctuary that looks like a small intimate modest space would be like a tall glass of cold drink in a dessert of perpetual masses of crowds. In Singapore, space and privacy are extremely high privileges only those with a lot of resources can afford. I am sure you already know this. I think they have these private salons in South Korea too. A country with a very similar profile to Singapore.

The ultra wealthy clients that LV wants want to see the goods in person, but they are not going to wait in line or go to a crowded store. It makes total sense to me for them to create super vip lounges, etc.

I'm like this as well... With any over pushy sales associate, I'm polite at first, 2nd time polite again, 3rd time less polite (while giving them that direct stern 'please, stop it' look), 4th time I just hand back "whatever" and walk out without saying a word.

The archival pieces aren't for sale because they're priceless pieces of history. I think there should be more museum quality stuff donated to the museums. I also agree that they should step up their game and make more quality products for people to buy.

"I'm not here to buy furniture" is the best line I hope Dacob utters in a luxury boutique in a tone of utter exasperation ( at a pushy SA, who might in fit of over enthusiasm, accidently asks if Sir would like to buy a bespoke chair. ) Make it happen.

When LV opened its Peter Marino-renovated London flagship store(2010) it had an apartment for Valued customers { invited only ). After 6 months I was walking past and I saw my fav sales assistant from Harrods who had transferred , he asked if I wanted a private tour, we both chuckled ,I'm not in that kinda Tax bracket, he was So proud of the building, shame is I never took him up on he's offer

Darling Dacob thank you for another great video. In my humble opinion this is just another scheme to make the “aspirational” clients spend more money and hoop jump to become a VIP, really not for the actual VIP’s. The sad beige living room with curved furniture is really on its way out, the other areas giving department store “section” and “in department display”, and they’re literally offering their “made for all” collection. To me VIP means special and unique offerings, access to archival pieces made to order and unlimited customization of products. Sorry about your Hermes experience. On the positive note associates and managers at Chanel are really upping their game, service has again become very pleasant and I finally enjoy being at the Chanel boutique again. Love 💗 😊

irrelevant: dacob you should already post a review of the latest chanel couture collection. many purchases from the brand lately, the extra buttons arrived quickly(no charge) maybe is that the reason? i assume you didn’t like the collection, like the previous many ones, however i believe chanel didn’t make it so great this time. however, i always pleasant seeing your videos 😊

How you feel about ‘bespoke’ is how I feel about ‘curated’. It makes my whole body twitch 😂. Those interiors do look very generic. Depending on the city they’re in, if hot and dusty say, wide open, light coloured spaces do feel wonderful and dark and cosy, more intimate spaces work better in cities with very cold climates but there doesn’t seem to be much thought given to the ones shown. Let’s be honest, a LV or Chanel VIP is just a big spender, not necessarily a genuine VIP. In those cases, LV would visit them, not the other way around 😏. This is a way to make big spenders feel special and part with more money to help LV buy more real estate in more cities. Your purchases usually depreciate in value whilst LV’s just grows and grows.

Dacob, the good point is that you can have likes added to the Chaine d'ancre necklace (and bracelet). Too tight is not the best. I started buying that range of jewels twenty years ago and needed extra links on the necklace and again after gaining extra kilos. Not the type of guy shrinking after washing... Just before the last price increase I bought another bracelet. A TGM this time, but 14 links... Only three months waiting. The end of the game? Themost lasting and may be sustainable of all my accessories, been wearing them all the time when Tiffany, Pomellato or Dinh Van stay in the closet.

The lighting in that ‘VIP’ space has made my existing migraine even worse, just by seeing still shots of it. Also, I can’t believe they bespoke’n to such important people like that! 😉 The secondhand embarrassment is real. What’s next? Some champagne - because it’s from FRANCE?! And how about some canapés? They’re FRENCH too?! Just like Louis Vuitton OMG the experience, gurls!!! Hold on to your lashes!!!

As someonw who used worked in retail for years I don’t know if this is a bad idea, but not the decor. Having a separate space for high end shoppers means they won’t be targeted by criminals. Mugging and looting is really bad all over the UK, it seems like this idea maybe a way of bringing high end shoppers back into London stores. I don’t know about Singapore so I could be wrong. I have never been to Hermes store so I loved your story and how you reacted, she really wasn’t looking at you as a person, just a way to make a commission!

This is like a nightmare for me. :D I hate it when I go to luxury shops and I always have someone behind me looking at me, waiting for me outside the dressing room etc. I went to some luxury shops a few days ago and I felt so uncomfortable that I left and I went to Zara. Where you can go and try the same clothes on for 3 times and noone notices and where you can buy 20 items and try them on at home and return them and noone asks you why.

I understand that salespeople need to sell in order to keep their job, that's why I try to buy from SAs as much as I possibly can but using a sales tactic on me is like using reverse psychology and I clock it everytime. Saying a celebrity wore this piece, when we ALL know celebs are paid to wear anything you offer them, is my biggest pet peeve when shopping. Ok, you think I'm some stupud buy sheep who's going to lose her mind that Kylie Jenner wore your $3,000 bag. Big mistake, huge. I'll come back another day and use another SA. In my whole life, not one SA can tell me the history behind a bag, why the bag was made, what type of person did the brand design it for....I can go on and on but I don't want to hear how great it looks on me, I know it does. Tell me something I don't know. Offer value.
