UPDATE February 12, 2020: New Orleans man Randy “RuRu” Schenck faces from 15 years to life in prison after his February indictment on federal charges for allegedly using a prostitute to drug and rob men across the country, including a Metairie man who died after their encounter, NOLA.com reports. The 12-count indictment against Schenck alleges that he directed his romantic partner to meet men on social media apps, spike their drinks and help him rob them. A reporter and a private investigator tracked Schenck’s alleged partner, Dominique Berry, to a Georgia jail, where she confessed to putting drugs in Shawn Arthur’s drink at his Metairie home. She’s awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty.

I cannot even express how much contempt and disgust I have for these two losers whose "job" is to drug and rob people so I am in not in any way justifying what they did, but why on earth would anyone go to meet someone carrying $13,000 CASH in his pocket? That was not how much they stole from Shawn but is the biggest amount she said they had ever taken from one of their victims. I would not take this much money with me to go meet a choir girl and I certainly wouldn't take that much if I was on my way to meet a prostitute disguised as a "date" on an on-line hook-up site. I hope Dominque/Desiree/Jasmine/Jezebel or whatever the heck name she is currently using spends a LONG time behind bars because as soon as she gets out she will go right back to victimizing and robbing people. She may have a different MO but sadly, I believe once you learn that you can rob people and make money and that seems easier to you than actually WORKING for your money, you will go right back to it. I cannot see this piece of trash ever even attempting to get a 9 to 5 job where she has to get up and get dressed and go out and do some actual work to earn her money. Much easier to just rob people and if a person here and there has to die, oh well. A certain amount of collateral damage is just the cost of doing business. Right, D/D/J/J?

That loud snoring she heard was "the death rattle". I've heard it twice in my life, once from my own mother. Its extremely disturbing and it's a sound you dont get out of your head. I will say in her defense, if you dont know about this snore... youd just assume they were snoring ridiculously loud. My mom never snored so I knew it was out of character for her and especially that loudly. At the point in both times I heard this sound, it was already too late for both of them. They both were already almost brain dead and their brains were attempting to have the lungs breath as it was shutting down. Its really fucked up.

Also, online dating is just as scary as regular dating. People died before and it will always happen. When you met someone in a grocery store or gym, and you went out with them you didn’t know if they were gonna kill you then either. Same risks have always been there.

They are trying to make their son seem like a Choir boy and he clearly was Not. It seems like they are trying to not take responsibility for what their son was indulging in by trying to shift the blame. He was an adult, grown and living his lfe as a single guy. Why didn't they interview the former engaged girlfriend about his character and why they broke up? Trust, there is a reason. Why didn't they interview any of his co-workers or local 'friends'? It saddens me about what happened to this guy but stop with the choir boy act. He was doing what some single (and even married) guys do these days unfortunately.

Had this happen to a buddy of mine. He met some girl on tinder an met her at a bar on a Friday night in downtown Harrisburg. He realizes his drink was spiked when he started getting dizzy and tried to leave the bar. He ended up waking up naked behind a factory and his car, wallet and phone were gone. Car was found in Maryland and his card was used in 2 different states. Crazy

I feel like more could've been in this case before they closed it. They didn't officially investigate Dominique, even though her fingerprints place her at the crime scene. There was surveillance of people using his cards; his phone was found in a freaking cemetery; this clearly wasn't an accidental death!
@michaelmedicworldoftanks33fps3 жыл бұрын
everything points to and explains accidental alcohol poisoning like sheriff said. The dirty shabby unkempt appartment, empty pills, alcohol bottles and apps for hookups with prostitutes shatter any claims of an innocent boy who wouldn`t do this or that. We don`t know who would or wouldn`r do this or that untill we see the way they live their life and sometimes it`s total shock suprise and disbelief but the truth is the truth even if hard to accept but it can`t be denied.

Can someone explain to me why the American legal system is so convoluted? From this video, this investigated should have been cut and dry. The suspect is linked via DNA at the crime scene, she admits to slipping him the pill that killed him on tape. So why is she still on petty crime charges and not second degree murder? And why was the initial investigation closed so quickly by the Jefferson Sheriff and investigators? It's so obvious that this wasn't a simple accidental death by misadventure. From the missing items, used debit cards, cctv of suspects using these cards, surveillance of Shawn's truck being used after his death, plus all the DNA. This part was disappointing to hear, as it shouldn't be down to the family to have to fight and organise a proper investigation themselves.

I understand what you are saying, but the part “this young man was only looking for love” does not apply. He was looking for a hook-up, sex...he found her to hook-up, not date-which is why he immediately gave this stranger his home address. He didn’t see this risky behavior as a bad idea. Maybe it worked for him to hook-up like this before but sadly this time it didn’t.

I had a female neighbor awhile ago who was using a dating app and I used to work nights and on my nights off I would stay awake all night and one night 6 black guys show up on foot and try to break into her apartment and I had a .40 S&W and went outside yelling you better get out of here and one of them said mind your own business and I fired a shot into the ground and the girl called me asking what's going on and I said call the police because 6 black guys are trying to break into your apartment and she said OMG and called the police and after I fired a shot they all ran off and the police caught up with them later and one of the guys was a guy she was going to meet the next day and I told her never agree to have a stranger come over that you don't know in person

As harsh as it sounds, this man was working 50 hours a week. He comes across as someone who works hard and plays harder. It's not unheard of, for people who work high strung jobs to do drugs to let loose or use drugs to get through a demanding week. Eventually overworking gets to you. I think the parents are looking for someone to blame because they feel guilty for not knowing how deep their son was in. So sad.

This is a sickening tragedy. I pray that his family find justice for him. I always warn my nieces about dating apps. One is a 19-year-old, and one 21-year-old, both gorgeous young women. The thought of going into a stranger's home, or them coming to mine---not going to happen. It may be that I am 42, and from a different generation, but it is NOT worth the risk. If someone is worth your time they will be willing to meet you in a public place such as a restaurant, and actually get to know you. I understand many are "hook-up" apps, but like I tell them: there is not cure for herpes (warts!!) , HIV/AIDS, etc...how is it worth the risk???
