It is always useful to learn English. No matter where you live. An employer will always be more interested in hiring you if you can communicate in English in a good manner. I like exploring ways of saying some essential things in a nice and professional way. We also need to know how to react with dignity when someone is rude and unprofessional. We should also learn more about slangs and everyday informal expressions if someone uses them while communicating with us. Generally, you are never done with English. Keep learning every day, guys. I am especially saying this to those who do not live in an English-speaking country, because good English knowledge makes you more independent, more sophisticated and more appreciated in job market. Great video. :)

As a native English speaker, I've never heard of the verbs 'to hoot' or 'to fluke'. I've only seen those used as nouns. I've never heard of 'faff' at all, that must be fairly recent coinage.

Sometimes the word 'slip' can be used when someone says something that isn't meant to be said. Like a secret nobody else had to know except someone will let it slip out of his or her mouth. For example, a man wants to proposed to his girlfriend, telling his best friend to keep it a secret, but the man's friend let the surprise slip out of his mouth when he told the man's girlfriend. It'll be something like this: "Why do you look nervous?" The man asked. "Is there something you need to tell me about?" He twirled the small, black velvet box containing a ring inside. "I...uh..." His best friend rubbed the back of his neck, biting his bottom lip. "...accidently told your girlfriend that you're proposing to her..." he mumbled, though it was clear enough for the other guy to hear it. "What?!" He dropped the little box in front of his feet when he screamed in reaction. "You-You told my girlfriend about my surprise for her!? Why would you do this? Why!?" "I'm sorry," his friend quickly apologized. "Her and I were just chatting about stuff, and the secret surprise for her just...slipped out of my mouth." He looked down at the floor with shamefulness. "You're the worst person to ever keep a secret," the now angry man said in brutal honesty. "No wonder I've been told not to tell you secrets - especially when my girlfriend now knows about the purposal." "I said I'm sorry." "Whatever. You probably hadn't told her about where I'm taking her for our honeymoon," the man hoped, rubbing his forehead like he had a headache. "Oh, about that... The honeymoon tripped also slipped out of my mouth too..." "Really!? Ugh!" Yeah. People will end up accidently letting secrets slip out of them. Children are more likely to do this, which is why secrets aren't good to give to children around during the younger ages or else they'll let it slip out even though they never knew they did it.
@superduperenglishidioms3 жыл бұрын
Very true! You can also use "slip" for things that you are getting "rusty" at... like, your skill in English might slip if you don't practice for a while.
