Discover the potential benefits of Low Dose Naltrexone. It's not something you can get through your regular pharmacy, and it's not naltrexone, which is used for alcohol abuse or opioid toxicity. It helps with pain by blocking the opioid receptor and toxins of endorphins, as well as your natural anti-inflammatory hormones or chemicals. Tune in to learn more about low dose naltrexone!

This feels weird. The guy is stating in the opening minute that it's not the same Naltrexone as the one used for opiod toxicity? But it actually is, just in a lower dosis.

LDN has helped me tremendously for Long Covid, it has really brought down the inflammation and pain. I settled at 3 mg which works for me, target was 4.5 mg, but did cause a fainting spell so backed down to 3. It has incredibly boosted my immune system as well, as I am not catching every single thing out there, which I was while suffering so from Long Covid. So grateful for it! Wish he would take more time in enunciating and slowing down, this is important information!

I’m so tired of being sick, I just want to live my life. I just started taking .5 mg 4 days ago and man is it messing up my sleep. I really hope I start seeing benefits and immune system improvement.

@@ashleylala4293 Hi Ashley, so glad it was prescribed for you but sorry to hear about the sleep disruption. I remember the doc telling me it could do that and cause vivid dreams (whatever that actually means) but I haven't really experienced that either. I take my LDN about 10 am each day, don't know what time you are taking yours. By four days, I was feeling improvements and they worked the dosage up slowly, 3 mg is all I can manage. I liked the 4.5, but sudden fainting is dangerous, so brought it down. I will say, that if I forget to take it, I feel in a full blown crash, that's how much difference it makes for me. Also, it actually does boost your immune system so you aren't always catching everything, but then LC crashes feel as bad a covid or flu's, hard to tell which is happening. I hope you feel improvements soon, may have to wait for noticeable improvements when they increase your dose. Another point made to me by my doc, was she chose a particular compounding pharmacy in Golden CO, due to their consistent quality. I wonder if that is something to consider too. Thanks for responding, always good to share with other LCers and I wish you great improvement very soon. Hang in there. FYI, I am in no way back to my normal life, but just being able to get up, shower, do a little, is better than the prior suffering. I am going back to work for two afternoons a week, just to get by, after four and a half years of being so sick. Hope you can be patient, but the improvements should help you have hope! Best Wishes!

@@celestialskydancer762i still feel .1mg might be too strong but im def doing better. In a couple weeks im going to have my pharmacy compound liquid LDN in almond oil. That way i can use sub .1mg dose and titrate up by micrograms. A lot of people with ME/CFS having success with this. The whole “tough out the side effects till your body adjusts” attitude needs to go. Starting at lower doses makes more sense. No need to put your body through that.

I have hypothyroidism, hashimoto antibodies are only 12. I'm on the liquid 1 milligram per 1 mill... my dr prescribed .5 mill to start. I'm sensitive to meds so I started at .15 and increasing every 5 days or so but never made it to .5.. the highest I got was .4, but this caused anxiety attacks like I've never had. I did notice that prior to getting there I would feel like my thyroid was going over active (165mg compounded natural desiccated porcine thyroid). I would skip taking the thyroid meds for a few days. It surprised me being that my antibodies are so low that I would experience such extreme swing. I'm on the LDN for pain (migraine and fibromyalgia) all I ever take for pain is aleve and herbs. All I can take that doesn't mess with my thyroid meds is .1 a micro dose. Any advice on how to regulate would be appreciated.. thanks

Hi Wendy, I hope things are going well. I can relate to what you experienced and have some non-medical advice for you. When you were raising your LDN dose and experiencing an increase in anxiety (+ feeling like you became hyperthyroid) - the anxiety is likely due to swinging hyper (in my experience). This has happened to me many times years ago and as a result, I was directed to stop by thyroid medicine for a few days to calm things down (stick with my LDN dose) and then when I started back on thyroid medicine, I was told to lower the dose by 1/4 grain. If that would trigger the issues again, I'd need to stay off the thyroid medicine for a few more days and then try again and it always worked. Many people think their anxiety is from the LDN when the thyroid is functioning better and the thing to do is to slowly titrate the thyroid medicine down. This is what I did anyway. This isn't medical advice - so always bring everything up to your doctor. But, this worked so well for me years ago that I got off of all thyroid medicine. I did (years later) need to go back on it but it's likely because I stopped LDN for many years too. I am now taking LDN again and it helps a lot.

This drug LOW DOSE NALTREXONE has zero withdrawal symptoms. I just stopped it for 4 weeks, nada, zip, zero withdrawal effects. I do wish people would read about what he is referring to before making ignorant comments . This IS NOT the drug at 50ml level used for alcholism and drug withdrawal. It is used in tiny amounts from 0.1ml to 4.5ml which produces an entirely different effect. It is a repurposed drug and has been used in this way for over 40 years. In fact is is now used in the lower doses as a very effective adjunct to cancer treatment drugs . For many people it is a game changer. Please look up the medical facts about this drug and then you can make a useful comment😊

Why continue to take it then? You don't continue to take a drug that does nothing for you. Maybe if you stopped for a month you may notice things that definitely were better when you took the drug. Or maybe like me after 4 years on it for Hashimotos at 4.5ml I became resistant to it and took the compounding pharmacist advice to take a 1 month break from and then start again at 1ml. What I noticed during the break from it was, 1)my restless legs returned at night, 2)my blepharitis returned, 3) pain I my right breast implant which I am waiting to have removed, 4)itching skin in creases of elbows and back of knees, 5) not sleeping well, 6)slight anxiety. I have been without these symptoms for so long I had totally forgotten about them. The main purpose of the drug for me was to reduce the antibodies relating to Hashimotos, but all these other things it helped were pleasing extras😊

@@johnathanabrams8434it helps conditions associated with nerves, pain, & inflammation. It is assumed it does so by suppressing microglial agitation / overactivity in the brain. Some other mechanisms too, such as stimulating endorphins. Just because many conditions involve chronic nerve pain, pain and general, and inflammation - doesn't mean it "cures everything." It's now being discovered that inappropriate nerve signaling plays a gigantic role in the cycle of keeping chronic conditions bad, without recovery. For a sprained ankle - the body causing inflammation makes sense. Hurts a lot, but, helps healing. But not when you have a chronic condition. That makes it worse. Chronic inflammation is itself, like a disease.
