She was the perfect choice, yet...the movie got hijacked into AI type directions. That was by design. There is a subtle (well not so subtle) suggestion that the path of human evolution inevitably will take up to a biological/digital merge. In just a few years this has become overtly talked about by think tanks in Canada. That's where the bad boys wanted to take humanity and yes it connects up with the whole vax project. The reminder is "emotion" which is what moves the human soul which is what manifests action. She does what she does because she had an emotional calling to do it not because of her logical reasoning. This is why she kissed him, to remind her she was once an emotionally driven person. I loved this film. Lucy was under rated, and undervalued. All the super hero movies out there, every single one, fails where this one succeeds. The conceptual idea of Ascendancy: the uplifting, or forced evolution of a "normal" person to become essentially God is terrifying in its implicatations. She depicts the confusion of loss of self at first, and her humanity later almost perfectly. Her ascension and transcendence of becoming more than human, becoming a true super being, she captured very nicely. I think the people that tend to dislike this movie have too many religeous hang ups to appreciate or understand what is portrayed here. IMHO. Scarlet Johansen did a very remarkable job of capturing the spirit of the God "Lucy." 9 out of 10.

Not quite Luc Besson, the director, made a massive hit with Taken and because of that was given the chance to make other, relatively, low budget films with good marketing. Lucy (this film) was a success but his next, Valerian, was visually stunning but a narrative mess. Which is why he's faded, once again, into the background. When Valerian becomes a cult favourite we'll see this sort of high octane, somewhat cerebral, thriller from him again. Until then who knows

Lucy 100% vs MCU Thanos + IG. Who would win? My money is on Lucy. Lucy can reality bend, mind control, and reverse time, just like the Reality Stone, Mind Stone, and the Time Stone (the other stones don't even matter). But in addition, Lucy can also time travel, reform from nothing, and is actually omnipresent (maybe even omnipotent). Way more powerful than IG. Not to mention that Thanos needs to actually clench his fist to actually use the powers.

You know, it could be helpfull if one can take a sience-fiction/ fantasy movie as what it is, without analysing it to death but take Idea/ philosophy behind it. Of course its unrealistic and in matter of sience absolute nonsense. But for me thats not the Point of the movie. So, yes, I enjoyed it a lot. Each of their own🙃 And If I want to watch something that its "real" in sience or History, I would watch documentaries, national geographic etc, but not a movie or TV Show. Hell, ask someone who is into History about "Vikings"... I don't even expect realism in Entertainment movies
@maninbadmood89623 жыл бұрын
@@fjeldfross9327 I didn't say it's dumb cause it's unrealistic, it's just freaking dumb. Period. The acting is dull and stiff, Lucy has zero motivation or any story why we should root for her, the nemesis for the "smartest being in the world" is just a drug dealer and there is a lot of animal porn. The ending is the cherry on top - Lucy turns into goo and then into a USB flashdrive, just wow. The same idea was executed so much better in Limitless (which is still far from perfect). So what were you thinking "a lot" after watching Lucy, huh?
