I never knew that in the English version, the "desired" item from the capsule monster can be rejected when you feed this exact item to it.. Pretty strange ^^ In the German version, this never happens.

IIRC, the North American version of Lufia 2 was riddled with bugs and one of the bugs was capsule monsters displaying the wrong desired item.

I remember casually playing the Ancient Cave years ago, literally within the first like 5 floors, I got some OP weapon that boosted my atk to 448. It was insane. Is this because of the really weird programming in the game or did I just get stupid amounts of luck for once with RNG? XD

It is part of the programming. You can easily just luck out, find a blue chest right away with an overpowered weapon, and just crush the rest of the game.

Yeah, I didn't realize how rigged the RNG was until that happened. Ancient Cave is just absolutely ridiculous but fun.

I believe I have more exp in that cave than anyone else (still spend a day off every now and thn to run the AC). If you get cores, then I'd skip some levels up until the mid-levels. Too bad on the rez spel not dropping. I know for a fact that he's trying everything he can to get out of some bad situations... (That treasure room with all the dragons and genies is BRUTAL). If you get a heal spell and absorb, you take on nearly every enemy until level 69-ish (when the metal dragons appear). lf you do so, then you can take down most of the other dragons, orkys and archfiends without too much trouble. Of course, this is a speedrun, so concessions need to be taken, which means you need some love with the cores.

Mr Hunterf You have to open some. You start with no equipment at the beginning of the cave and in order to kill the final boss/survive to make it to the boss, you need equipment.

The "only rings/shields/helms/rocks for the first few floors" is something that I never encountered in hundreds of hours of playing this. I never had trouble finding weapons on the first few floors, or even the very first floor. Maybe that bug got fixed in the european release of the game (that I played)? I mean the US version has some other weird changes (Artea renamed Arty so US players often think she's a dude, and most of the mis-translated enemies the runners mention during this run are also not as poorly trasnlated in the EU version I played) so it might be understandable why it has odd bugs in it.

no, what he meant is that you cannot find any rings, shields, helmets, rocks, etc on later floors. This is the same in every european version btw.

Arty/Artea is male. Arty is technically the correct translation since it’s the phonetic spelling of the English name.
