@@christopherchristofonovich3131 Great question. It’s important to know what your government is doing. The story of El Mayo and El Vencintillo, his son, is absolutely fascinating. I’m surprised more ppl don’t know about it. Vincent met with the DEA to give info leading to the arrest of an opposing cartel and after he left the hotel meeting with the DEA, was arrested by Mexican police then extradited to the US. The US wanted him to flip on El Mayo but after talking with his father, decided to flip on El Chapo instead. He was the lead cooperating witness in El Chapo’s trial. After serving some time, Vincentillo joined witness protection in the US, which is crazy because his father El Mayo is probably the top guy on the FBI and DEA’s most wanted list. A lot of ppl now tho believe that he is back working with the Sinaloa Cartel and back under his father. Edit: I didn’t realize he was going to talk about this on the podcast lol. Still really interesting. Netflix has a show called “Drug Lords” and the episode about El Mayo covers all of this.

Yeah like people don't understand El Chapo wasn't and never was the head of the Sinaloa Cartel, the old man is and always has been! So when Luis was talking about them grabbing so called "King Pin's," who were not actual leader's, it made me think of both El Chapo and actually Afghanistan. We had a program in Afghanistan where we paid locals to hand us over "terrorists" and we soon found out the hard way that they were often just guys that the people didn't like! LOL, not funny for them, but kinda funny now thinking about how bad that was. We were sending some of these "terrorists" to God knows where, "Black Sites," horrible prisons and probably even Guantanamo Bay.

@@JoseReyesz Oh I know very well, I'm not going to publicly talk about what I do, but trust me I'm an expert on the issue. Also a former FBI leader said, "American's face a far greater threat of death at the hands of MS-13 than they do from any terrorists organization in the Middle East. D.T.O'.s definitely pose an extreme danger to the USA, in many, many ways, but mainly through fentanyl. The Cartels (usually) know better than to hurt or kill American's, especially white people. However that's in Mexico and is definitely less true here in the USA. I see first hand how the cartels work and how they infiltrate neighborhoods here in Southern California. Where I live and work, is the gang capitol of America, as far as MS-13, 18th St. and "La Eme" or Mexican Mafia. People don't realize how entrenched the Cartels are in America, even in many of the suburbs! We're constantly seeing gang wars, human smuggling with stash houses and drugs. The biggest threat right now is the quickly rising power and brutality of the CJNG or New Generation Cartel. Oh well, I could go on forever but I don't want to say too much. I would love to go on the Shawn Ryan show someday, but I don't think I could. These people are definitely taking a big risk appearing on these big shows. Both El Calderon and Luis Chaparro have similar stories of what they have been exposed to. Yet in different roles. I see a weariness in both their eyes older than their physical age. For both conversations I had to take several days to listen, because their experiences and matter of factness (sp? word?) puts my stomach into knots. Their stories are important, content is necessary to learn / understand so we are aware of what is transpiring in our country and over the boarder. Again Shawn thank you for continuing to guide our civilian population and country the realistic and honorable way you and your brethren do. I'm so grateful for men/women in your community as you give hope to our current situation. So grateful for you all you truly don't understand what you do for us all. Gods blessings. Right on and much respect brother but: Joe should be on Shawn’s podcast not the other way around. But the main problem with that is I feel Shawn, Jocko, Mike, and others are the authority on a wide range of subjects that Joe has simply no experience or capacity to discourse upon other than the basic polite and generally insightful commentary he’s of course wonderful at. For the real steak dinner of discourse I prefer Shawn’s & other SEAL / RET MIL content precisely because aside from being ultra intensely interesting, it’s difficult to watch and take in, because the truth often never comes smooth or OC sugar coated. And even more importantly, they’re daring to cover the most important issues facing us RIGHT NOW. Ones that if left unsolved will bury us all. I live overseas. Just about to get into the arms deal, but part of my wonders just HOW involved this guy is...I imagine there is a point of no return right? Who knows, I'm just a little suspicious. I watch his behavior closely and his responses, he's saying a lot without saying much you know? That just me.
@Boltman473 жыл бұрын
@@lancegiltner978 I see your point. I would say that outlaws love notoriety, especially when theres no repercussions. I also dont think Sean would let anyone on his show without doing some digging. I could be wrong as well though.

I'm thinking this guy had to prove himself loyal to the cartel members. You don't just hang out at a party, throw back a few beers, snort some cocaine and then you're magically part of their inner circle.
@koopspook3 жыл бұрын
well the way you think is not the way an organized crime organization thinks. As you saw in this interview, Ryan and Luis were somewhat guessing as to the reasons they (the criminals) would want someone from the public media around their activities. He is not part of an inner circle, he is there as a reporter with someone that vouched for him. He paid money sometimes and etc. He's not there to join their organization, he's there to report whatever it is the cartel wants him to report.
@luischaparro3 жыл бұрын
The first thing they know of me is that I am a reporter, not necessarily writing on everything they say, but definitely not there as a "friend"...
@superplusextra96343 жыл бұрын
Alot of his info is really "superficial" and talking a little bit more of what has already been spoken about. He's essentially the local social media promoter and everything he's report on is a double edge sword. It helps people know what's going on but also helps promote the cartel from within the underworld of cartel system. If they didn't want the info being spoken about he would have been pursue and killed. I don't doubt he's had to mingle with members to earn favor not loyalty.
@jacklarue70493 жыл бұрын
Yea…he didn’t report on the dead mother fuckers rolled up in carpets in the basement, and was railing corner to corner phonebook lines of chach with the soldados. They wanted him to report their shit so they appear powerful and relevant.

When you're childhood friends with a cartel member you are approved you only need one connection to enter the criminal underworld he earned respect by being trustworthy with what he sees and hears

Yes indeed. Just like brands and companies. Its very complicated but yet so similar to normal ”business” Well, it is a business. That wont stop until consumers stop.

These interviews are top notch. I find myself glued to the conversation and I can usually follow along pretty well with what the person is talking about but with this one I found myself a little confused. At one point the gentleman was talking about keeping a low profile and not bringing attention to himself for the safety of his family but he’s talking about it in a sit down interview that’s gonna be seen by thousands of people. Is he no longer a journalist or is he living in America now? I guess I’m just still scratching my head about this interview.
@luischaparro3 жыл бұрын
Im still a journalist, actually as of now I am in one of the most remote cartel-controlled areas in Chihuahua. But what I meant when keeping a low profile is only during reporting. It is actually more dangerous to be unknown as a journalist. If something happens to me now, after many of you guys watching this video, Im sure it will bring a lot of heat to cartels/Mx authorities.

Movies Sicario and Sicario: Day of the Soldado opened grim truth about Cartel for me. Ed Calderon, and TheЛюди - Mexico opened my eyes before that on real issues in Mexico, and I am from Arizona, so I am literally right across from that. It's crazy
@righteousone84543 жыл бұрын
@Tom Movie is based on how Cartel does sht. It spoke about how our government tried to control the cartel by making sure they have control over the main cartel, which is exactly how it was until smaller cartels took over. There was one main cartel that ran the country. Also showed corruption in our own government, a-la-Fast-and-Furious operation, and us hiring cartels for operations. They also spoke about how much cartel is here in Arizona. So when you try to ridicule someone, make sure you even understand context and basis of the movie. What I understand is that you tried to be dismissive to the facts that were presented in the movie, and then asked me if I understand that I am "stupid" for seeing the movie as the truth. Sadly, the idiot is you, because in Juarez, heads are being cut off for real, and people were hung from bridges, that's facts. Showing corruption on all levels, federal and local in Mexico. Showing how there is a trade of people from Mexico, tunnels that are dug from Mexico to Arizona. Actual facts by the way. I had friends from Patagonia that told me stuff like that. People here that still have tons of relatives in Mexico confirming facts out of the movie. So... Anything else you want me to understand? Oh, "knowledgeable one".
