Thanks for posting often lately. This is the favorite place my wife and I like to vacation at but the pandemic has kept us home. Nice to do virtual shelling with you since we can't be there ourselves. Take care!

Really enjoy your videos! I'm in Micanopy FL, and we only get to our favorite beach once or twice a year. Casey key, in Sarasota Cty. I love to snorkel for shells too, but it's always too rough at the shore break. My favorite shell is limpets, so look for some for me!🥰

Amazing finds & another perfect video. I love getting a new notification from you! Thanks so much for sharing. ♡ Beautiful Sundial! That one's still on my unfound list. Maybe I'll be blessed with finding one when we're there next month. :) Navarre Beach is so beautiful, even if we only find the "usuals" it'll still be a lovely time. Can't wait!

Awesome shells! I think your flats however are round-rib scallops (aka the ravenel scallop) not zig zags. You can tall them apart by the rib spacing. The round-ribbed ones usually have more space in between the ribs while the zig zag has much less space and the ribs appear as if they were cramped together. It can be tough telling them apart, but if you have the two side by side you can see the difference.
@LizFisher13 жыл бұрын
I definitely need to see two side by side, I had no idea there was a difference, Thanks!

Hi!!! Just wanted to say that my family and I had a wonderful time in Navarre. We went last year and this year too. We made a lot of wonderful memories and got to make some new ones this year too!!! Oh, and I actually found my first ever Apple Murex!!! I am so excited. My mom found one last year and let me have it, and she found another this year. I was getting frustrated, (not at her, but at the fact that I couldn’t find one, and that was her second one in a row. I guess she is an Apple Murex magnet. Lol.) I really wanted to find my own... and wouldn’t you know it, there it came in the surf. I screamed Apple Murex and grabbed it with my hand held net. Oh my word. I still can’t believe that I actually found one. I also found one or two small dime sized shark eyes. Those are really neat too. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about shelling on Navarre!!! Your tips helped me find one of my most prized possessions. 😉😄

Those shells are beautiful. Have you ever find a Junonia? Your area has a lot of flat scallops. Wish I was there.
@LizFisher14 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've found a very teeny tiny micro baby Junonia, didnt even hardly have it's spots yet. Lots of shards and cobs, and my Mother found a front half of one, you'd think it was whole until you turned it over and it's missing the back half 😆

Unbelievable shells. Is Navarre beach always good for shelling?
@LizFisher14 жыл бұрын
No not always like this, we have weeks where there are no shells to be found, it can be very hit or miss here.
@marykruse93844 жыл бұрын
Do you clean your in M.acid? All those shells are clean looking.
@LizFisher14 жыл бұрын
Nope the shells you see are ones that came right from the Gulf (empty ones only!) I've noticed shells from South West FL seem to be stinky and nasty but here in NW FL they generally don't need anything but a quick rinse.
