THIS TELE HAS EVERY CONCEIVABLE FANCY FEATURE AT A SUPER BARGAIN PRICE. IF YOU WATCH TO THE END YOU'LL SEE THAT I FINALLY FOUND A FLAW, BUT FOR AROUND $300 YOU GET A ROASTED MAPLE NECK, IMPECCABLE STAINLESS STEEL FRETS, A COMPOUND NECK RADIUS, STAGGERED LOCKING TUNERS AND A BONE NUT. MINE CAME PERFECTLY SET UP, BUT YMMV. I COMPARE THE TONE TO A SIRE TELE AND A FENDER TELE WITH TWISTED TELE PICKUPS.

Wow, you make that guitar sing! I’m a metal headed shred guy, so I love to hear country/ Hendrix, 70’s style playing & you nailed it. Good review, thanx

Man, that is a great review, and I sure appreciate it. The value in these is almost insane lol. In my experience, one always needs a string tree. I just had a very expensive guitar made, and the builder thought a string tree may be unnecessary because we had Hipshot staggered tuners. Nope… Back to the string tree, as the E, B and G would pop out of the nut on country style bending. I like the 3 string tree from Nashville Bridge a lot.

Thanks for that tip. I’ve never had a guitar with staggered tuners before, and I believed the advertising 😂. Then again, I’ve been twanging on the M Musi at home for days and that E hasn’t popped out again-there’s something that I do at gigs that I don’t do at home, don’t know what. I’ll check out that Nashville Bridge tree!

@@barthydemusic don’t worry, my brother, I believe anything advertised when it comes to a Guitar lol. I guess if the truth was told, sometimes I am glad the advertising doesn’t live up to the product, that way I can buy something else lol.

@@ShawnBrockMusic I still think it's the best playing guitar I've ever owned. The neck and the frets are phenomenal. I'll put a string tree on it and try it at a gig-that's the only way I can tell if a guitar is going to work for me.

This sounds GREAT! Fender Shmender... Put that in the hands of any of the greats and let them play their hits you can't distinguish the 60s Tele they played from this Tele, especially with today's amps with the EQs and other built in effects .

BINGO, I bought the Virgo model from MUSI over a year ago when they first came out, and had the same issue. I put two Ibanez strings trees in (stainless steel) and bingo the strings behaved as they should. These are the best (cheap) guitars on the market today (I've played for over 50 yrs and have played them all). My only knock is that if you have XL hands and have issues with playing thin pattern necks, take a HARD pass on this guitar. The pickups, frets, and tuners are outstanding in the model I purchased.

I bought this guitar The quality of construction was wonderful The action was nice it had all the features it promised but I got rid of it because it just didn't sound good other than that it was great
@barthydemusic

It definitely doesn’t have the traditional tele sound. I’ve decided to slap some different pickups in mine, rather than returning it. It has a great even, resonant sound unplugged, so I think it will sound good with different pickups. We’ll see…

I hope it works for you with new pickups. I really wanted to like the guitar but I wasn't willing to put more money into it because I had other guitars I was interested in as well. What killed me was I played it back to back with a made in Mexico fender telecaster on the same amp settings in the difference was night and day.
@barthydemusic
@barthydemusic Жыл бұрын
@@mcmotohistory8770 It's very different all right. With the same amp settings as my Fender, the Musi is muddy and mid-rangey. You could try eq-ing the amp differently, but I'm going with different pickups. I've already ordered a set of Brad Paisley La Breas, and I'm hoping that will solve my problem.

I’ve been hearing really amazing things about this guitar, too. I’ve seen at least one other reviewer on KZbin say he had to install a string tree on his. This seems like a pretty cheap and easy thing to fix, given all the many virtues of this guitar though! One question: What is the neck shape like? I have seen one person remark that the neck was too thin for him.
@barthydemusic
@barthydemusic Жыл бұрын
It’s a pretty standard D shape, not unusually thin like a shredder neck. And I usually like a fat baseball bat shaped neck, so it’s kind of odd that it was immediately comfortable. Maybe the compound radius helps.
@ShawnBrockMusic
@ShawnBrockMusic Жыл бұрын
@@barthydemusic I see someone beat me to the question, and I sure appreciate that information as well. I just put a baseball bat 51 neck on my Nashville telecaster. It’s good to find another fat neck guy lol. Some of this new stuff is astoundingly thin to me.
@Flyright07
@Flyright07 Жыл бұрын
The neck is very comfy for my average sized hands. Roasted maple gives it that smooth, dry feeling. Got mine a couple of weeks ago in blue, and I'm shocked at how good it is. Like everyone on youtube has said, it's sooo easy to play. Action is low as it gets, and it stays in tune. Came well packaged and exceeded my expectations.

Nice review! Which squier or fender tier would you compare this guitar to?
@barthydemusic
@barthydemusic Жыл бұрын
Good question. I’m not aware of any Fender teles at ANY price that have some of these features, like stainless steel frets or a compound radius neck. I played guitar my entire life without those things, or locking tuners, but having tried them I kinda like them. The hardware, like the tuners, pots and switch gear is far better on the Musi than on my Mexican Fender. I’m going to put a set of Brad Paisley La Brea pickups on it and do another video, more in depth.

No complaints about the Sire at all. It’s a close second to the M Musi in terms of playability, but has more of a classic telecaster sound.

You're right, not a problem at all. I only mentioned it because the staggered tuners are supposed to eliminate the need for a string tree. And, because I felt like I needed to find some fault with the guitar, lol. I didn't want people to think it was some kind of softball fake review!

@barthydemusic
@barthydemusic Жыл бұрын
That's a tough choice. I just had a set of Brad Paisley La Brea pickups installed, haven't really had a chance to test it since. The stock pickups were a little too hot and midrange-y for classic tele sounds. I'm betting that with the new pups the Musi will be damn near perfect. It's about a pound lighter than the Sire. I like the look of the Sire better-don't really care for the headstock of the Musi.
@Sevenxsnroses

@@barthydemusic awesome thank you so much for the quick reply. I really appreciate it. I was kind of in between both of them. And one of the biggest things I worry about is weight so I’m glad to hear that that’s a little bit lighter than the sire. Thanks again dude
