If they are serious about non-discrimination and hiring the best and the brightest, why not anonymize the applications and put that info with the test results and hire based on anonymous data where no one knows the race or gender or anything else. There always has to be an interview, where who the person is and what the person is shows up to the interviewer. BTW, in my more than 30 years of working, I've never filled out a job application for a single job I got. I got jobs by seeing the hiring person and telling them I could do the job and was ready to do the job. At my last job, which I retired from after 18 years, as soon as the interview was over, I filled out tax forms, was given a timeclock card, and punched in to work. This was in a law firm. They know BS when they hear it and knew I was serious and correct.

It’s crazy that she thinks the only way to achieve diversity is to lower test standards. She legit said that PoC are not smart enough to get the job. I had to take a test to get my job. I have to regularly take tests to ensure I’m learning and progressing to standard. If I were told that my tests were graded differently because I’m a woman or that they lowered test standards to get more women into my industry, I’d be greatly insulted. I work hard to ensure I keep up with the men in my industry and I won’t have some big wig lower the standards because they think that women can’t keep up. That’s disgusting. We either can keep up and diversity is achieved naturally or we cannot keep up and do not deserve the job.

You can't lower the standards to make it easier for certain groups to be able to make it into coveted positions, which seems to be what's been going on and will not end well. Really they should be focusing on young people and getting them set on the right path so they actually meet and possibly exceed the standards. I'm sure this woman wouldn't choose a doctor to perform surgery on her based on demographics...like you have a choice between a black doctor that barely made it into med school but because he/she was black they were admitted to fill the diversity quota. And the other choice is an Asian doctor that was top of their class. Is she going to choose the black doctor because it's more inclusive? The doctor's skin color, religion, gender, etc. shouldn't even enter into the equation but that is sort of what they are pushing for here and we will end up with a lot of under qualified people in important positions that will make a huge mess of things.

What she's proposing is affirmative action, which is the most unfair law that was ever passed. Colleges do the same type of nonsense with SAT scores. It should be illegal to ask what a person's race is on any application for employment or even public assistance. College didn't ask my race on my college application, but I was required to attach a photo and to fill in my name. If you see the name "Skokeesha" on a form, you might tend to think of what the race is, because of new cultural norms.
