I pretty much always cry during victim statements. The only time I didn't was the one time I gave one myself but it's because I felt angry about what had happened because I got raped at gunpoint (not a real gun but I didn't know that at the time). The court decided to plead the perpetrator out of basically any trouble at all. They ended up putting him in a foster home for six months to protect him from his mother who expressed a desire to kick his ass over it. In any case, I survived and stopped feeling afraid of guns.

What prosecution did with the Camarones was disgusting. He was trying to get them to say dirt, and they were having none of it. The loved OJO, and it’s obvious they also loved and, most importantly, TRUSTED Karen Read. I don’t understand why he’d bring in the Bartender for that little. Couldn’t the owner/operator/management get in the receipt and video? You can tell what Defense is starting on with her. She has DIRT on multiple players (like most servers and bartenders, and others in customer-facing roles with regular clients would). I assume it will be limited to what she witnessed herself as anything else would be hearsay.

It is so interesting to see how different state courts operate. In Michigan the lawyers argued every objection before the jury. In North Carolina, the lawyers just meandered all over the courtroom, pointing guns at people and invading the witnesses' personal space. In Idaho Judge Boyce is running a orderly and well scheduled and very fair trial. In Wisconsin my favourite Judge Dorow has now run two trials one under the most extraordinary circumstances and the other with unusual facts and her courtroom etiquette is unparalleled to others. She is fair and just and she absolutely supports cameras in the courtroom. This Judge is unusual her inability to communicate scheduling for breaks is frustrating. The fact that the lawyers can't state reasons for objections is strange, changing the numbering of the evidence inefficient, the constant huffing and puffing into the mic unusual. 🤔

I'm behind on this. But as a North Dakotan, blizzard has more to do with the WIND not the amount of snow. Blowing snow is the dangerous part and is what makes it the blizzard in most cases. You can have like 3 inches of snow with 60 mph wind and it's a blizzard. Plus within the week the temps went back up to 40 which makes me think everything is icy af around there. Thanks for coming to my ted talk lmao.

Why did none of the cops at the house think to themselves “hey John never showed up and they were driving what if something happened? Should we call or go check?” They are cops and see horrible stuff all day why did no one get curious (if they are saying John never arrived)

The defense attorney doesn’t really ask a question. He makes a statement and says you didn’t or you did whatever not “ did you”.
@shkrjam846 ай бұрын
It’s a strategy for cross. Sometimes the witness can agree to something more quickly because it’s being asked in the affirmative or negative. Similar to when you feed a baby and open your mouth to cue them to do the same, or nod when you’re explaining something to help the person agree with you. Sometimes the witness gets tripped up in this way, as well. Remember with cross, sometimes the question is what the defense wants the jury to hear, not necessarily the answer.

Where did the migraine go that migraine lady (drinking wine?) had the previous night? Also, can we get the time stamp for the 1/2 dozen Dunkin’ Donuts she raced out to buy in this blizzard at 8am or so?
@luciawilke54706 ай бұрын
And were the Dunkins near them open due to the blizzard?? Someone reported that at least 20 in the area were closed because of the storm.

You are accurate about being able to see things with your own eyes. But I would never threaten or email about a case to anyone. And seeing things changed my mind in this case about certain specific facts.

Im curious why non of them have kept in touch with her?
@DyslecticAttack6 ай бұрын
@@tinykitsune0387 probably because it's difficult to know what to think. Because either she's the type of person who'd kill her bf and lie about it, or she's someone who after losing her bf also got blamed for it unjustly. If you're unsure what to think about what happened, how would you treat her? Can you even be civil if you think she might have done it? Are you willing to show compassion if it might turn out she did do it? Or can you feel good if you turned on your friend when she needs you most? And well, with complicated situations like that, people tend to take the easy route. So the easiest is to stop engaging as much, to avoid making an active decision.
@AuntLALA6 ай бұрын
@@DyslecticAttackit is complicated. I did think about how I would handle it. I would be there for my friend, bc at minimum, my friend doesn't believe she hit him. Maybe she was too drunk?? It is tragic but i would still be there for my friend. I think. Maybe. Dammit. I don't know anymore 😂
@DyslecticAttack6 ай бұрын
@@AuntLALA I don't think there is any way to answer that unless you're in that situation, nor do I think there is a single right answer. The ideal "nic" answer is to support your friend, but I'm not sure it's the right answer if it turns out they did in fact kill someone and lie about it. The imperical "truth" doesn't exist in a situation this messy, and in a situation that's this divergent in emotions, the logical "right answer" depends on the "truth". And I just figured that pointing out how conflicting the situation the friends were in might shed light on why they drifted apart. On one hand your friend might be falsly accused of murder, yet on the other hand, you might be comforting your friends murderer. There is no emotional middle ground in that situation, and whichever you choose, you'll feel like you betrayed someone.
