Emily as a retired State Trooper, accident reconstructionist, and ID technician, I can’t believe this case was prosecuted! The chain of custody alone is doubt. The police officers/Troopers are NOT telling the truth! I have testified numerous times and never once showed reactions such as these officers. I tried to be unbiased and I’m done. I don’t know how this poor officer actually died but it wasn’t by Karen Read! Too many unexplained incidents!

I also find it strange that only that one piece of the rear cap was broken. Not to mention the fact that it was in So many pieces. But the other section looks untouched. Seems fishy. Plus the number of times the "crime scene " was left unattended but "evidence " was still collected.

As an ER nurse, law enforcement trying to make medical diagnoses is rampant. They rarely know what they’re talking about. Trooper B starting to talk about a subdural is wild, as that is not something that he’d be able to observe.

As a retired nurse, this witness tap danced on my last nerve 😡 He isn’t qualified to diagnose the common cold! His ego did, however, trip him up! He made it a point to call the arm wounds abrasions (blunt force trauma induced abrasions at that 😂) but the minute he took his mind off of concentrating on those words, he slipped and called them what they are: lacerations. I hate that this kind man (from all accounts) and the children he was raising are totally forgotten in the mess that is this case!

I still cant get my head round how Brian Higgins and Brian Albert went to New York to honour officers they didnt know. Yet John Okeefe an officer they knew died on BA property and they just dont give two Flip Flops. I live in the UK and work for police and this case is an embrassment to LE. As ive watched the trial what did LE etc get right... its so upsetting that John OKeefe has totally lost in all this. 😢😢😢

i’d argue based on the amount of alcohol the people in this town consume and the amount of parties they attend, they could’ve simply gone to NY to party with other officers or friends. but i do think you’re onto something they clearly didn’t give a rats ass about the victim.

I think they turned on him and then made it look like Karen hit him. There's something about the Karen/Higgins connection and I wonder if tempers got hot around relationships, a fight got out of hand, and they blame the person in the middle because she "caused" all the issues.

John O’Keefe has been lost in the fuckery of this case! I can’t imagine how his family are coping! I’m outraged and heartbroken on their behalf! it doesn't seem to be working, seems like the evidence he put forward today confirms much of the defense theory...the tail light in the video showing KR backing out of the garage to me does not look like it was shattered or look like it was missing so many pieces that were later on the McAlbert's lawn. The only accusation that he does seem to have a (shaky) case for is the DUI...but if the charge is DUI causing death, I couldn't convict on that because I don't believe she hit him

@@Diana-ch8cvand I’m sure the defense will be able to absolutely shred even just a DUI charge if they have an expert to testify to how wildly the reverse extrapolation can be off for someone with MS, autoimmune disease in general, and/or whatever meds she might be on, or even just how wildly it can be off if she’s drinking at home. So even just DUI is a long shot at this point, because the prosecution’s own expert has already admitted that people will fall outside that normal range of metabolism they rely on, including someone with those circumstances.

That should tell you everything you need to know about how bad the corruption is in our state. Not only that, butt a couple of months ago the MSP sent him out as the lead investigator in a different murder in Weymouth, MA, despite this. Internal Affairs at the MA State Police didn't even start investigating him until March 14th, 2024(!!!), and only then bc local media had to report it when the defense brought up his corruption from FBI receipts during pre trial hearings. MSP had no choice once this became news to finally give the appearance they were doing anything about him.

The thing that I keep coming back to is how many things Karen said on that day that are honest to the point of making her look bad. I can't imagine someone who purposefully hit her boyfriend with her car going around to everyone saying "did I hit him? could I have hit him?" She also did not hide that she was drunk the night before and was candid about how the kids were a strain on her relationship with John. If you had something to hide why would you say those things? On the flip side everything we got from the Albert/McCabe/Higgins has been deceptive in some way or another. I just keep thinking that if they had nothing to hide then why are they being so weird about phone calls and text messages and whether they were ever looking directly at the lawn, etc. There are a lot of pieces missing but one side is being much more transparent than the other.

I agree. I can't wrap my head around what is happening here. One thing I keep thinking about that Karen said was to John O'Keefe's sister in law regarding "I'll never speak to you again" or something like that. I guess I don't understand why she would say that at that point. Really other than that, this case against Karen just doesn't make sense to me. But I also don't understand the theory that someone beat him up. A dog attack is most reasonable to me at this point, especially given the photos of him. Sad all around and I wish for justice and peace for his family and loved ones.

@@Jts449 This is pure speculation but if her mind was going into overdrive during the early morning hours because of John's death and then being forced to go into hospital for a psch eval...if she didn't feel welcomed by John's family, she might've been overthinking to the point of "now that the person that connected me to this family is gone, they will turn their backs on me." Especially since we've heard that John's mom was angry with Karen in a phone call earlier that she left John alone at Fairview in those weather conditions. Here's a possible chain of thoughts: "John is dead" > "I can't take care of the kids on my own" > "wait we aren't married, so I wouldn't even have custody of them" > "if I don't take care of the kids, John's family won't have any reason to speak with me anymore" > "but John's sister-in-law and I got along so well!" > "Does that mean she'll never speak to me again?"

The time stamp at the end of the sally port video jumps from 46:52 to 48:08 where it then counts from 48:08 to 48:15 where the video then stops. However, what’s on screen in the video freezes during the time jump and while those last 7 to 8 seconds start back ticking. So the last basically 2 minutes of the video are missing and the footage is frozen and then the video ends. There was another jump where basically almost the entire minute from 42:00 to 43:00 is gone on the time counter but the video is still playing thru the missing time (there’s no jumps in the video that would indicate 25 to 30 second periods going by twice). The one at the end where 2 mins just disappear while the screen is frozen, then the video just happens to end is deff the more sketchy of the 2 for me. @@BethFedhi Beth, if I may ask, what is the convincing evidence for you that prosecution has presented so far? Cuz I'm struggling with any. And what I hear from outside court evidence (which I understand why some of it isn't presented) points even more to what defense is saying. I knew nothing about this case before trial but have done a bit of reading outside of it. Interested in your thoughts, thanks!

Here’s the thing for me, even if they ever finally show some evidence that can beyond a reasonable doubt point to her being the one who hit him, I think they screwed up royally uping the charges to intentional. With everything we’ve heard and seen so far about that night I do not see how they are supposed to get anyone to a point where they believe without a shadow of a doubt that she hit him on purpose with the intention of taking his life.

I live in Michigan and think it is hilarious everyone keeps calling this a BLIZZARD. That is every other day here in winter. A Blizzard is where you can not see a foot in front of your car with HORIZONTAL snow blasting at 70 to 80 mph with complete whiteouts while on the road.

According to the police dash cam video that’s not true. You could clearly see outside. It wasn’t a total whiteout. Also, as the police car was pulling up to 34 Fairview you could clearly hear Karen Read screaming.

I honestly think Lally didn’t notice. he played the video because he thought it clearly showed nobody touching the right rear taillight. he was going to have Buchanik narrate who was where and what was going on the whole time. then the defense pointed out the mirroring on sidebar and so Lally just had the video play without commentary. Proctor spends an awful lot of time at the actual taillight…cross is going to be a field day!

On Trooper Bukhenik, it’s obvious that Proctor was the one calling him Trooper Bukkake behind his back when talking about his boss to his Albert/McCabe friends and now Trooper Bukhenik knows it too, after Jennifer McCabe’s testimony 😂😂😂

It was Chris Albert’s wife, (Julie?), who called him Trooper Bukkake, not Jen McCabe. She is best friends w/Proctors sister tho, so if Proctor had a nickname for Trooper B, she would likely have heard it.

Lally - unable to keep his voice up, so jurors aren't hearing any points he may make. Lally - causing the air conditioning to be turned off = jury hate. Lally - taking forever to present a case. And not much of a case. He has to be ticking off the jury.

As someone that works in insurance claims I am 100% positive that she backed into his vehicle in that ring footage. At approx 5:55:21 - 5:55:22 if you look close enough and zoom in you can see his vehicle slightly move. If you pay attention you can also see her vehicle come to a stop BEFORE her brake lights came on indicating it stopped because of the impact. I am MIND BLOWN by this. The defense needs to get an expert on that video stat because they would literally be able to prove impact. This is WILD. The scrapes on her bumper are also 100% consistent with striking another vehicle. When did they “find the taillight pieces at the scene”? This makes me curious if Proctor saw that video and realized the pieces would have been near John’s car? I’m just mind blown by the fact that the prosecution knows this video exists and still took this to trial. What Jury in their right mind would be able to convict her without a reasonable doubt with a video of her damaging the taillight 🤦‍♀️

It is very unusual, in fact my understanding has always been a situation of needing to be caught in the act so to speak. Now, if you start to drive, realize your mistake, pull over to a safe space to sleep it off, and leave the keys in the ignition, they can still come along and cite you, that I do know. Which makes me wonder about the implications of push button starts.
