Maangchi!! I asked for 2 of your cookbooks for my birthday, and I got them!! I made this dish tonight, for our supper!! I spent my afternoon finding an Asian market in Melbourne that had all of the ingredients. I also bought some kimchi for the first time. Delicious! The soup was sooo good - comforting, just the right amount of spiciness, seafood, and my favourite vegetable for soups: leeks! I recommend your cookbooks to anyone who follows you. They are so much more than cookbooks, but like a Korean cooking class with so much information! Thank you, Thank you, Maangchi. May you always be blessed.

I make seafood stick for this by using shrimp heads and shells for the shrimp I add to this. I sauté the shrimp heads and shells for five minutes, and add a little sake to deglaze the pan, I add water and boil like you do for your anchovy stock. I then strain the heads and shells and throw away. It came out soooo good. I’m not sure if this is authentic enough, but.i just thought I’d mention it. I love your videos and your from scratch cooking. You are the best!!

Many Koreans believe Jjamppong is a Chinese dish when in reality its Korean.
