Got the hexl set...and swapped out all my standard torx for RBRT. Amazing the bolts that these things get out. Every box needs them. The bite is unreal. Iv never stripped a torx or allen since

Another problem is some don't clean the dirt and crud out with a pick or small screwdriver first and finally blowing it out with compressed air.I agree on not seating it in all the way too stripping them out.Some even don't break them loose by hand first hitting them with an impact wrench rounding them out

Mac often sources their tools from other people. In fact, Mac is owned by stanley black and decker, who owns craftsman, so id expect these to appear under the craftsman name soon.

@@andybub45 Stanley owns almost every other tool company, besides Snap-On and Matco. But MAC is a separate entity. Nothing from MAC will be given to craftsman.

Great video Clay. I work on fitness equipment for a living, and I deal with the cheap Chinese bolts everyday. These will be added to my tool assortment very soon. I also am one of those guys that has a hard time getting to a tool truck because I am on the road everyday and do not work on things at my shop. Ive had a set of the hex for while, have not used them much. I was told by my mac dealer they were for rounded out hex bolts. learned what they really are. thanks

Yeah there’s been some misconceptions about these tools and I’m very thankful that Dan came to do the demo and educate us all on how to properly use them and why. I am a firm believer after seeing the demo first hand that if you use these first (and it can come out) then it will come out without any issues. The fit ent is amazing and you can feel the tool actually bite into the fastener and that is what it’s all about ! Getting that bite!

Mac Tools should pay me a commision. I bought my set of RBRT sockets about a year ago. (keep in mind that I'm an Electrician not an auto mechanic), two of my electrician coworkers seen (and used) my set and then they also went out and bought RBRT sets. Another friend of mine who builds decks uses hex head bolts, I showed him my RBRT set, he flipped for them and he ordered him a set from Mac's website . . . . .then our shop foreman noticed some of us carrying those red Mac Tools blow mold cases in some of the work vans and asked "What are you guys all buying from Mac Tools?", so we showed him, and I be danged if he didn't immediately go online and order him a set too.

Wiha screwdrivers are the best I have found. Made in Germany. Use a bit of lapping paste for tough ones. If it is Japanese, you may be stripping them because they aren't Philips, they are JIS. Look the same but they aren't. Get some Vessel screwdrivers. They are JIS. The Vessel Impacta will take out tough Philips and JIS. Craftsman did a badge engineered Impacta. Go watch a video. You will get it.

Can atest to these. Own torx and Allen's. Use the Allen's often. Can think of two vehicles in our fleet that I've removed the expansion valve several times and reinstalled the partially rounded bolts. Size being 5. Only issues I've had are the metals seem soft as I've twisted the 5 twice, but they work amazingly typically.

Got the mid length SAE chrome hex set and the stubby Torx set. They really are great. Definitely a leap forward. I work on Harleys a fair amount so lots of Torx and Allen head bolts and screws. The Torx on the derby cover in particular are notorious for stripping, usually because somebody tried removing them with a T25 instead of the T27. I agree Clay, these RBRT bits should be in every "starter set" of tools.

I am usually not a fan of tool truck brands. However, sometimes there are items like this that are great. I have some Snap-On retention style spark plug sockets, a design I cannot find elsewhere. This is another great example of one of those tools. I really appreciate the time to demo the products and explain how they work. The problem though ... people who work on their own cars will usually not be able to afford tools like this, or only be able to afford a small amount of them. For me, I have 2 sizes of the Snap-On retention spark plug sockets, the most common sizes I encounter. The rest, I simply cannot justify the cost no matter how good they are.

I use them a lot, they are not extractors, but they do work. If my snap on starts to weeble wobble, I grab these. First thing I bought from Mac.

These would have come handy when I was taking the drive shaft out of my car. It has a aftermarket one piece shaft that's loaded with hex head bolts. Two different sizes for the front and rear that needed a X long ball hex. I know that I'll be liking them enough to buy some.

I really want to get a set of the RBRT sockets. But the biggest thing holding me back is that Mac is owned by Stanley-Black N Decker. They also own DeWalt, Proto, Expert, Irwin and Craftsman. I don't want to spend almost $200 on a set of RBRT sockets and then only 3 months later Stanley-Black N Decker decides to release them in the Craftsman line of only $39 at Lowe's. That has happened before with Mac Tools and other Stanley-Black N Decker brands

Well this is how I see it, if it is a good tool it’s worth the cost and if I need a tool to get the job done I need the tool no matter what name is on it. Personally i had rather have a tool truck brand so I can always exchange it. I’ve never had good luck with most store brands when you buy anything in a set. They always give a hard time because if you break a single piece they don’t want to break a set and i hate the hassle of dealing with someone in a store about swapping out a broken tool and i am not a fan of having to go to a store or post office to mail stuff off. To me the added cost is worth it. Some may not agree with me but that’s just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions! I seriously doubt the money Mac has spent in the development, and production of these tools they will be discounted or sold under a lesser valued name any time soon. Maybe in 10 years or so ? Who knows but you can remove a ton of stuff in that time. Honestly two jobs of getting stripped stuff out or even preventing stripped stuff will pay for them. If you have not had to drill out a stripped stew or bolt in a hard to get area ..... you don’t realize how much fun and learning new cuss words you have missed
