In college, we studied abroad in Madrid! 💜💜 I loved the food so much! One thing that surprised me when I first visited Spain was the lack of spice! My roommate and I had to go buy Cholula 😂 I really do miss el menu del dia & churros con chocolate ☺👌🏻 Can't wait to go back!

Croquetas are made with bechamel (not potatoe) . FYI (And tks for sharing your experience) You must try : boquerones en vinagre , callos a la madrileña, torreznos & mollejas ( next time) ;)

Minute 7:45 The potatoes omelet, also known as Spanish omelet, is best served warm on a toast, or wrapped up in a sandwich. Put it in the oven for 5 minutes and it is ready. There are tutorials on KZbin on how to cook the perfect potatoes omelet. It is very comforting and easy to make.

🤣🤣🤣. I think I conveyed how I was feeling pretty accurately there! We were expecting to get a tapas size serving, but got the 'works' instead! The taste wasn't bad, it was just the texture that took some getting used to. The look of it wasn't that appetising either! I tried most all of these when i was in Madrid. I didn't try that Pisto manchego. Not a fan of tomato based stews. I like the tapas like the iberico chorizo. like 32

Hi Cara, thanks so much for the feedback! We wanted to trial our 'bucket rating' and wasn't sure how it would go. Ahh the pigs ears! A couple would have been very managable but I had dozens of them! If you like bacon, chewy textures and eat with your eyes closed then pigs ears are for you! - Jon

Out of local interest and pride for anyone watching this; this is not a very accurate or particularly insightful look into Madrid food. Croquetas are bechamel not potato. We don’t get calamari at…Museo de Jamon. Also tapas eaten out of tin foil and styrofoam in a park aren’t ideal. We don’t usually have chorizo on toast for breakfast. The pisto at Malaespina is good but is from La Mancha not Madrid. Not trying to be bitchy just trying fly the madrid flag.

Croquetas are not potato balls, but instead they are inside made with a bechamel sauce flavoured usually with chicken or jamón or bacalao (cod fish) or carne de cocido (a sort of meat mix from a typical spanish stew)....... or what you like to have inside.

Note to self: do not watch Bucket List Travellers' food videos BEFORE eating! 😜 We're pescatarian these days, so a few of these items are off our list - but the croquettas look amazing, and we assume there are meatless options for them. (?) We'd do the shrimp though! The Pincho De Tortilla looks fab - surprising it's served cold though. The potatas bravas look interesting, and the garlic prawns look amazing! We especially love how your reviews are HONEST, for better or worse! Technically, we probably could survive on those churros con chocolate. 😜

🤣🤣🤣. You wouldn't know it from our videos, but our diet is mainly pescatarian as well these days! There were plenty of vege options, including croquetas. The Pisto manchego (without the egg) is a popular vege dish and the potato tortilla is another tasty one. Glad you thought our reviews were honest, I'm not sure I could put lipstick on those pigs ears!😜 The churros more than made up for the pigs ears!😋
