Thanks guys! As a FL2 owner who likes doing as much work on it as possible before going to a garage, this is really invaluable information. Please keep them coming!

You're welcome Josh 👍😀. This video was prompted by someone who stripped their engine down to change their glow plugs. They thought it was odd that the old ones needed an 8mm socket and the new ones needed a 10mm socket. They didn't think much about it, carried on, and is now faced with re-doing the whole job to install the correct plugs, which would be ever so slightly annoying I can imagine. So if this stops 1 or 2 other people having the same issue, I'd call this video a roaring success 😀. - Scott

Superb info 👌, so impressed with the detail and can confirm the wrong fuel filter is a nightmare. When i bought my fl2 i asked for it to be serviced and they fitted a cheapy. The car went into limp mode but didn’t show any warnings on the dash or my diagnostic tool. Read something about fitting genuine parts online so did that and its perfect now. I change mine every year with purflux. I bet thats had many owners stumped so well done raising the awareness mate. Loved all the tips, great video's 👍 cheers.

Thanks alot Badrallach 👍. I think the worst part about having a cheap diesel filter fitted is that there is nothing to warn the driver about what the issue is if it does ultimately end up going into limp mode much like you experienced 😀. - Scott

All good points. Basically, if it’s cheap it’s for good reason especially with regard to filters and oil. Fit once and fit right, your Landy will appreciate it 🫡

Amen to that 🫡, I couldn't agree more 👍. - Scott

😂 what you are basically telling me about the brakes exactly what happened to me 😂 bought the pads before 2012 , rookie mistake . Stripped it all down. Oh these pads look wrong .

Maybe you can find a time travelling machine, go back in time and watch this video, and avoid the whole situation 😄. It would be even more confusing if you bought the correct set but unknowingly had the wrong set in the box and were scratching your head trying to work out why they won't fit 😂. - Scott

I’d love too, however I know now chassis numbers to Ch999999 take the smaller pads up to 2012 I believe and chassis numbers DH onwards take the larger pads and no shoes . This also applied to rear brake discs as the later ones don’t have the hole for adjusting the shoes. Valuable knowledge .

can i ask two questions? 1. would you say a MANN fuel filter is any good? 2. where can i find i find some engine cover bolts for a FL2 2014 td4? ... can't seem to find them anywhere. cheers. love the videos.

Hi Zee Wolf 👋. Thanks for the support 👍. I'm not sure if anyone else can confirm if that's a good diesel filter or not. But personally I'd stick to the ones I've listed in the video to be 100% safe. 😀 As for engine cover bolts, I have no idea. If you have Facebook, join thr Freelander 2 Off Road Group (FL2ORG). Someone there might be able to help you out 😀. - Scott

Normally Mann are fine and they bought Hummel? Anyway or the other way round my mechanic told me a year ago. 😊. I've always used Mann filters for Mitsubishi Shogun. Not sure about my fl2

Best place to get parts from?
@ScottandAlana4x42 ай бұрын
The place I've used and trust the most has to be www.lrparts.net . On most parts it gives you the option for genuine LR part or an OEM equivalent. They deliver pretty quick and when I've had to contact them when I've not been sure about a part, they have always pointed me to the correct bit. The only downside being that they have a flat rate shipping cost no matter how much or how little you buy. I generally store a list of items up and then buy them all at once once I've got enough for an order 😁. - Scott

Filter temp. 27°C

I don't know why, but I expected the fuel to be at a warmer temperature than that before it got sent back to the tank. I learn something new every day. Thanks Michael 👍😀. - Scott
