I am a developer/ software engineer/ full stack. BA is the person who tells me what the business people want me to build. They gather requirements and communicate with the customer (the business). Product owners are a level above me and BAs. They are supposed to make sure that the team is on track and prioritized. Working on what we’re supposed to, in order to get the job done.

I'm currently a QA Analyst (Software Tester) and a former English teacher and office manager. Though I enjoy testing software for correctness, I don't LOVE the super technical parts of it. Ex: trying to figure out why things are broken and assessing things on the back-end. I'm trying to learn Python and I am just really finding it difficult to get into coding at all. I don't find it to be enjoyable. Maybe a BA role might be better suited for me?

This interview inspired me to step my game up! I've been a Product Owner & Business Analyst for 7 years, currently unemployed at the moment. I'm looking to get some extra certifications and get back into the market so I can make the big bucks like Brie! I can't believe she's working 2 jobs in the same role because being a PO and BA isn't easy and can be stressful at times. Hats off to her for getting to the bag and inspiring others to keep going!

I’m finishing up my second year of my Cybersecurity degree heading into my third year in January. I CANT WAIT to be done. And yes the main reason I chose Tech is because of the money and I’m good at using a computer. I also did saw the Tech boom during C19. I always thought I was gonna be in healthcare but starting out as a CNA, I HATED it. I’m looking forward to working it Tech. Not sure exactly what I want to do thoug so hopefully this video will help. I don’t want to do coding, nor do I want to do the Networking (routing and switching) part of Tech. My college says they do job shadow at Tech companies and companies also come to the college from different companies. PS I LOVE that u made such good in such a short time. Most ppl tell us we won’t make six figures til after 5 years or so. I want to work remotely and if I can do multiple job at ones then that’s what I want because I want to buy a home within 5 years after college CASH.

I love this!!! My concern is… I’ve actually worked as a BA and still find it hard to get into another BA role. My role wasn’t technical. Like “technical BA” is a term. Also, BA role has transferable skills from customer service but it is its own monster that you need a certain skill set for. So not sure how realistic it is to get that role with no experience.

This was a great video! I just more people made videos on how to ACTUALLY ARTICULATE transferable skills! I’ve heard “transferable skills is how I got in” a MILLION times and no one is telling exactly how to do that. For example: Customer Service skills that can transfer for BA are what exactly?! Typing, helping customers with their bills, helping customers reset their passwords, giving customer a credit on their bills? HOW?! Like how do those skills transfer to a BA roll?!
@symonebeez
@symonebeez Жыл бұрын
I'd start by asking ChatGPT. But briefly because BA is a customer facing role.
@zaitunpeace
@zaitunpeace Жыл бұрын
Hi. Transferable skills (Customer Service skills as an example) deals mainly with HOW you communicate, and the first rule is to listen attentively to your customers...not just listen, but employ both empathic and cognitive listening and switch them as needed/ demanded. Also, the ability to flesh out information by asking open-ended questions, etc. You know you've hit gold mine WHEN you're able pinpoint the emotion(s) that serve as the foundation to your customer 's distress/issues. Not easy, but very doable. Consistency and patience. Do.Rinse.Repeat. Watching good podcasts on YT helps with types of effective questions one can ask. I hope this helps.

@labelmeposh I'm certified in AZ900, AZ104, and AZ 305. but have experience in Power Platforms. I would look at Power Pages and Power Platform, but are low code developmental tools that can garner 6 figs without a certification. Hands down. Take the Azure route (not easy) if you want to always be in position demand your the type of work experience you want...I say this because not alot of people have Azure nor cloud experience and government entities (DoD, AF, NAVY) they looking for that experience as speak, not enough qualified candidates..meaning more flex and pull for how you want to work because they need you more than you need than. Overall Power Pages, and Power App would be good for entry then go from there

I don’t understand how these people do more than 1 job. With the way I bother my BAs and Product owners. There’s no way they could have a 2nd job lol

I’m in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, and Continuity Of Operations Planning. I’ve only been in the business for about almost 4 years. I have (2) certifications and finishing my Cybersecurity degree up right now. I’m alway looking for ways to up my salary to take care of my wife and up my tithes and offerings to God’s house. So, someone give me some advice on getting another job, so I can be a blessing to someone else.

You shouldn’t bring people on here who want to gatekeep. Like sis, if you really making what you making what’s the harm in sharing the class you took? Smhhh

@@PhDiva02 there are tons of business analysts classes. Nothing wrong with googling, but what’s wrong with sharing the particular class that you took? If it got you to where you are why gatekeep that?
