Really informative, I realized all I was doing wrong with my practice rig, especially the line part...

After seeing how much Tim Wells is trying to sell the fish hawk for and reel separate this looks pretty decent.

Oh bro try some of that beard hair for line . Never ever have I seen beard hair that thick man. Sorta looks Afghan but you are well fed sir. Malnourished the Afghani beard hair doesn’t stand up to yours . Dude you got a new sub here you are definitely cool af and do some cool skitt. And I’m usually not this big of a ball buster but you made me feel comfortable.

You should try a pistol crossbow. Fifty pound tri line and an old spin cast reel zip tied to a $40 pistol crossbow hooked to a cut down $15 fishing arrow works great. I litterally wear camo and walk around in the water and the fish swim right up to you. Super fun i shot 70 carp in one day

That was a good videod man im probably guna do the same with mine but the dart flies out with the cone on it so you dont have to take it off to load it.

I've been thinking of duing something like this with a slight twist, I am working on a jig to fasten the guides straight to the pipe of my blowgun, and I am looking at hose clamps to attach the reel. I think this will give a sleeker look to a blowgun fishing rig.
@TheRealChaseRhodes Жыл бұрын
The main reason I used the rod, was to avoid putting stress on the actual blow gun. I'd rather ruin a $10 Walmart rod than a $90 blow gun.
@MSSmith1022 Жыл бұрын
@@TheRealChaseRhodes, I understand not wanting to damage the Tim Wells you got. I am using a pipe I got from Home Depot for my blowgun and I am looking to get a 3D printed mouthpiece, so not to worried about the stress.

That would work for any small game and you would not loose your dart. Even at flying birds

Does it take the line off the reel with it when it shoots. Or do you have to unreel some line first?
@TheRealChaseRhodes10 ай бұрын
It takes it with it... as long as I remember to flip the bail open 🤣.
@djokicmetamora2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing, but maybe use a needle and thread the line through the cone.
@TheRealChaseRhodes2 жыл бұрын
I had that same thought, but if the line broke, or a dart got damaged while I'm out fishing, I didn't want to have to deal with a needle.
@theupperhook2 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah did you catch any fish yet?
@TheRealChaseRhodes2 жыл бұрын
Not yet, haven't had a chance to get out to any water. I'm itching to try it out though.

Does it not come out of the fish after you shoot it and try to reel ?
@TheRealChaseRhodes2 ай бұрын
That was the reasoning behind grinding a "barb" into the head of the dart. But I'll be completely honest with you, I've never actually hit a fish with it to find out 🤣.

I have the blowgun, but is it sturdy enough? I dont want to waste $80 by bending it on a big carp
@TheRealChaseRhodes2 жыл бұрын
That's why I left quite a bit if the pole in tact. I didn't wanna accidentally ruin a perfectly good blow gun.

Fire these darts out of a paintball gun. Even the bamboo skewers are lethal. You’re welcome.

Why not separate the reel from the rod cut the rod to length . That’s what I did I tried with the rod handle it was too much . I also found out that one notch on one side of the dart I cut the other end off HARPOON 🤓 then me fish won’t wiggle off my dart because I no longer have a dart I have a harpoon.

Braided line doesn't work well at all on a spinning reel
@TamponTea5 ай бұрын
lol i catch 20+ inch fluke on 10lb braid with a 2500 reel every time i go out. never had a problem. mono sucks to much stretch and has memory. thinking about going with 6-8lb next season to help with line bow in the wind and current.

It's a Cold Steel Tim Wells Signature Series. The only difference between it and the cheaper Cold Steel blowgun is It's green and the more ergonomic grip and mouthpiece.
