HEY!!! Yes I definitely will - in this video it's hard to see but matt has really large pores in his T-Zone so that tells me he's got combination skin and I could see a bit of oil starting to build up in those areas (so if I didn't know him) that would tell me he's definitely combination!

I learn so much from each of your videos! They’re brilliant ! You said you noticed some shine developing after applying the foundation and setting it - is the RCMA foundation quite greasy then? And not suitable for oily skin?

It’s a wax based foundation and I use it on oily skin. It’s all about skin prep and determining as you go how much powder you will use to set. I prefer to lightly powder and build if I need to so the skin continues to look natural on camera. If I see shine, I blot or powder, or do whatever feels right for the finish I need. If something isn’t suitable for a certain skin type in my opinion I will definitely let it be known!

Absolutely love this and all the information I got. Question, how do you go about asking a client about their skin type (oily, dry, etc) and like what their sensitive to and stuff like that, especially for men?

This is a great question. I usually ask right away before I do anything: 'Is there anything you are sensitive or allergic to that I should know about before we start' usually every person on the earth tells you they are sensitive so get ready for that lol. Skin type is more challenging. You need to be able to visually identify their skin type because sometimes they won't know or they will tell you they are dry when they are clearly oily.

Yes this happens quite often! I usually use a very light foundation mixed with green corrector on the neck area to take down some of the redness.

are you opposed to you using your fingers (sanitized and disinfected obviously) to blend in foundation and certain creams for a more skin like look? I know some look down at using hands but its how I prefer to work and many artists like Mary greenwell and Wayne goss etc. often do the same but I'm not sure if its just because they're so well known that they can get away with it or what. I'm probably annoying you with so many questions it's just that most artists don't ever respond so I'm hoping you could help and I feel confident trusting your response!

What primers would you recommend to go with RCMA Foundations?

None! This channel is a no primer zone LOL. RCMA is a wax based foudation and primer defintiely complicates things with that type of foundation. The makeup will move and slide around when it is applied with primer in my experience. It adheres so much better to skin that is prepped properly.

Hi Brenda! Sweaty skin is going to sweat - what is important is to get a foundation on the skin that doesn't break down with sweat. I carry Cinema Secrets and it has been great with my sweaty clients. You can sponge or gently dab off the sweat and the makeup stays in place.

Yes they do! I pick it up from the MAC pro store here in Toronto that carries a larger range of products than what you might find in a smaller MAC or one that is in the mall.

Good question! Yes you definitely can. I like to use the mattifying gel first and then use a powder foundation (or oil blotting powder) on the top of the head. I will try to find someone bald to show you how!
