The scene where he is a kid and he stands in front of his dog to me is my favorite moment because we all wanted to be Superman. We all wore a cape and did that pose as a kid. Superman is inspiration for us to be best version of ourselves

It’s nice finding people who love this movie as much as I do. I also think zack Snyder would be the best choice or one of the best choices to do a live action adaptation of “Invincible” there a ton of similarities between the two plus I think Snyder would have a blast adapting it.

Y’know… I never really disagree with James and Anthony. But I gotta say, I still feel like the ending destruction sequence of Metropolis was absurdly over the top. It was a missed opportunity for Superman to lure Zod and his Kryptonian army away from a highly populated area, taking them to say… Antarctica? And likewise, Superman is the most virtuous being on Earth. So he would not, and should not have killed Zod. (And by breaking his neck?!) BRUTAL!! I get that Superman has killed in the past iterations of his character . But if the attempt was to modernize the character for the current audience, then he should have found a way to defeat Zod without murdering him. Making Superman a killer is more of a devolution to his old ways. And that is my rant. Just my opinion. Please don’t snap my neck people.

There are events in the Smallville fight where superman tried to lure them out from the town. But the Kryptonians always pushed him back down. They were clear about destroying human race. so why would they care. The Metropolis destruction, a good part was made by the World Engines. When Zod lost his people the only thing he wanted was to make Superman suffer by killing humans/ killing Supe himself too. Majority of the destruction was done by zod by tossing Superman through buildings and stuffs(Zod is a trained military commander). Zod was dominant in that fight so he doesnt care about the "collateral damages" Duh!. And what other way was there to stop Zod without killing him. Dude adapted to his skills and powers within what 2 days. Clark had to struggle for years. In time Zod would have become uncontrollable maniac. And the only thing that weakens a kryptonian is a kryptonite (as if he knew it was thing). We are talking about a boy from Kansas who was Superman for 2 days bruh. He even cried his soul out for killing zod(being the last of his own kind). Imagine the number of things what a single person should at a time. So even for the most powerful being on Earth there are limitations. He is what we humans are."He will stumble, He will fall" Now this is a message to inherit for the modern audiences. Actually this movie was ahead of its time.

@@indrajithk2561Well it’s worth stating that this was simply a comment posted about my opinion. That being said… Sorry “bruh,” but to think the only way to stop someone evil is to murder them, is extremely flawed thinking. Especially when Superman is the most virtuous of all superheroes. And yes, Superman used to kill during the Golden Age of comics. But he, much like Batman, has evolved since then. And they both make a point of not killing. Which is a key difference between Superheroes and Anti-Heroes (like the Punisher). And when Wonder Woman killed Max Lord in the comic books (via breaking his neck in an eerily similar fashion to how Snyder’s Superman kills Zod), the murder of Max Lord causes a huge rift in the Justice League. Is it a human instinct to have the desire to eliminate your enemy? Sure. But Superman… is NOT HUMAN.
@prestongeer32112 жыл бұрын
@@indrajithk2561 Also, what’s the argument about the destruction of Metropolis being done by the World Engines and Zod?… That there were vehicles written into the script to justify the destruction? My problem is that it was an over-the-top, mind-numbing level of destruction. NOT that Superman was to blame for the destruction himself. I look forward to reading your rebuttal in 2 months AFTER this original post! 😆 😆 😆

Superman Returns, which was the comic accurate and Reeves follow on could only make 300 million dollars worldwide. MOS made over double that because it was a different a take on the character and something far more people could relate to, he was more human than he had ever been in that movie and while people say there was no hope in the movie is just nuts. 1. The oil rig, he saved everyone on it when they thought they were all going to die. 2. The Bus, the saved everyone when they were seconds away from drowning 3. He surrendered to mankind to save the earth 4. He took down multiple Krypton’s while also shielding civilians and military personnel 5. He took down the world engine even thou he knew he would be weaker around it, that was hope pure and simple and courageous. 6. He stopped Zod just before he was about to destroy the plan to send all of the Krypton’s officers back to the phantom zone. 7. He killed Zod because he knew one death would ensure the survival of billions. Hope was in abundance in this movie and no matter what anyone says this is my favourite Superman movie and favourite solo superhero movie of all time.

Crazy thought, we have the potential one day to be Krypton, technically Superman’s concept is possible, what if millions of years from now our sun is about to explode and the last generations haven’t had the levels of solar energy we have now, but they are more advanced because they’re way in the future, we would have the technology to send a child to a younger planet where they genetically would react to the younger sun 🤯, I should write that and call it like Superman: Son of Earth ❤️🔥

Been in a Man of Steel mood after the recent Superman teaser trailer, trying to wrap my head around my excitement foe the film and trust in James Gunn and also my worry that WBD will make the same mistakes with the DCU as WB did with the DCEU. But I did want to mention that they actually did make a Krypton series that is a prequel. It's not canon to the DCEU, but I assume it originally started out with the intention and changed over time. The series stars Cameron Cuffe as Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, and sees him going up against many classic Superman villains such as Brainiac, Lobo, Doomsday, and General Zod. Seg, along with other Kryptonians, lead a revolution to fix the injustices of the Kryptonian way of life. The show only lasted 2 seasons, but it was VERY good. The show also has a lot of visual similarities with Man of Steel, despite being in a separate continuity. I've been itching to rewatch the show and just never have.

I hold the same opinion with this film as I do with The Wolverine. Most of the film is brilliant until the third act. I just feel as though it’s a third act from a completely different film. There’s a formula for these films which I don’t have a problem with, I love most of them, but I think when a film goes against the formula, but returns to it for the third act, it kinda pulls me out of it. Only a personal issue though so I can see why people adore it since I do love two thirds of it.

Personally I loved MOS, it made 670 million dollars in 2013 which is equal to 958 million dollars in 2024. I really enjoyed the grounded realistic take on Superman but I get not all did, that’s fine not everyone needs to like the same thing. When it comes to Gunn pending Parody Hope others enjoy it, I will wait until it’s free won’t be giving a penny to Gunn, a man who openly mocked child sex abuse and thought it was funny. Because of his disgusting comments I haven’t supported him since won’t be supporting him now. But hope others enjoy it. Won’t be giving Gunn a penny!!! But hope you enjoy it 👍
