Usually these "cursed anime" games are boring and predictable, but this one went in an usual direction and was actually pretty creepy. The idea instead that the stalker uses anime as their escapism and that's how it's tied in is much more refreshing than just a killer anime girl. Interested how they might wrap up this story

This game legitimately creeped me out. It's extreme and yet so eerily realistic because (like Manly said) some people *do* stalk people and kids like this and it can go on for years. The real life footage seems jarring at first, but it just made everything so much more unsettling, especially with Solomon's casual commentary about this deranged baby/child stalker.

My theory is that weird imagery and off putting music is Solomon's work. The stalker is unhinged but she probably still has some idea of what is appealing, even if superficially so. Solomon is sort of in this twilight of wanting to fuck with you, inform you and also some actual concern for both of you. If the stalker controlled the music personally I think she would of put something much more generic, perhaps even straight up rips from shows. If she could. But she ain't, Solomon is, and he almost has this mocking contempt for the absurdness of the stalkers affection. So, he warps the music and imagery just a bit. Giving a warning vibe to it, but also getting his own little giggle at your expense and fear.

This one became more creepy when you think about it. That the anime character isn't really stalking you. But the person behind it using it as a mask to stalk the MC. Clearly since they were a baby. Then somewhere down the line the stalker got someone as sick as them to help them make a game. The solomin guy pretty much doesn't care finds this whole thing super funny, just wants to see how it plays out. The stalker on the other hand seems to be trying to reach out more now that your older. And you the MC don't even call the police. But it soo creepy to think someone had been watching the MC that whole time.

I love the fact that this doesn't rely on any explicitly "scary" imagery. No creepy smiles, no blood, nothing like that. It's all just unsettling stuff put together in a way that makes it creepy as hell.

I like it too, its a kind of horror that's hard to produce, yet it has a huge effect made bigger by the fact that most horror games don't do such horror, rather with stuff like that Jeff the Killer pic

I think what makes it work is that it's not trying to be horror first and foremost. What typically happens with horror games is people sit down, think "What is scary?" and then end up adding monster, big smiles, jumpscares ectr ectr. Ironically, things become more scary based on context. Otherwise RPGs where you play as warriors would be terrifying. This is a thriller story with personal elements with scary stuff on top. In doing that it comes off as way more unsettiling. It's scary because it's a mystery with unsolved intent and the scary stuff amplifies the unsolved into straight up ominous foreboding. By trying to be less of a horror, it communicates the mixture of emotions better and becomes more unsettling. I feel both like the stalker actually cares about the MC and yet, like all stalkers they come off as so invested and unhinged that there's no telling what that means.

This game DUNKS on all the other “creepy smiling yandere ghost girl with a bloody knife” games. There is nothing scarier than a realistic stalker. And one that targets vulnerable young children? Holy shit... The fact that it was commissioned by the stalker makes the “How to Draw Anime” style a great touch- they only watched anime to creep on this kid, they would only barely know what was accurate.

I think the woman stalking the mc might be the mcs biological mother. At 13:30 Solomon says "Are you gonna tell the parents?" Maybe I'm just reading into it but saying 'the' parents instead of 'your' parents seems way less personal and like they aren't the mcs actual parents. And earlier at 13:17 Solom said "Those Parents". As well as at 13:45 he says "I bet its easy to lose track of them all, huh?" Implying that the mc was probably going from foster home to foster home which would also explain why the mc moved so much. At 14:22 he says "Relax, you don't have memories of any of your parents disappearing, do you?" Solomon specifically says "any of your parents" meaning the mc has had more than one pair of parents throughout their life. Then at 18:03 when talking about Demon Slayer the woman says "He lost his family. But one family member still alive! But she is different. She is change. But he still love her and be with her forever even if she dont know. I will be with you forever." All the answers she gives about which ever anime you choose relate to her and you. Along with 18:22 when talking about Cowboy Bebopp she says "I did carry that weight. I carry it for most of my life." Which I'm assuming is talking about her giving up the mc and then later on regretting her decision or could mean something entirely different. The whole "You are not home" "We will go home together" speaks for itself, the mc is not home because he's not with his real mother in her mind. Theres the fact when the woman would break into the mcs house when they were a baby, she would put on a motherly role like feeding and playing with the mc. There's a bunch of other smaller things like crossing out the mom who adopted the mcs face over and over again, etc, too many to go over. And given how obsessive the woman is, it's possible she just wants her baby back. Maybe she gave up the baby and regretted it or the baby was forcibly taken from her, either way she wants the mc back at any cost. This game was so different than I thought it would be, I thought it would be the classic yandere game character or something along those lines, instead it was about a woman whos stalked someone since they were a child and made a game specifically for them. I've always found realistic horror way scarier than anything else because it could actually happen. These kind of situations have happened before and it just makes it all the more horrifying and disturbing. I'd love to see more of this game when it comes out, I really hope they continue this :))

Wow this is very good. The fact that it was convincingly "real" and not supernatural only made it creepier. So much good aspects that make it more unsettling - the music, the grainy footage, no reliance on jumpscares, even the broken English. "Solomon" was well written (it was clear that he cares to some extent for the creator of the game however much he acted uncaring) and him explaining the sad backstory and making the situation feel more genuine really brings it together.

As far as I understand it, the 'anime girl'/stalker is actually maybe your biological mom and you, the baby, got put up for adoption for some reason. Because Solomon mentions that you moved a lot as a child, with different parents, so I guess you gor moved along the foster system (with your mom always in tow; maybe you were even moved because of the stalking?). Super creepy and also kinda sad. Solomon also mentions that 'she' cried with her dirty face and stuff, so I guess the stalker is in a terrible situation herself. Very interesting, lots of layers to it.

Going off the wide-accepted anime=bio-mom theory, Solomon tells that the MC constantly had to move houses due to different parents. The child didn't seem like much a problem from what we see yet he constantly needed to move. Solomon says "You don't have any MEMORIES of any of the parents disappearing, do you?" So he simply states the memory, which would be unnecessary if they just never did in the first place. His foster parents would constantly go missing randomly and thus would cause the MC to constantly need to go to new parents. I think the anime/bio-mom may be linked to said disappearances in the first place in attempt to get the child back by force. Further alluded to by the Xing out of the mother on the train. Very unsettling. This person is capable of violence and experienced with it, yet is very easy going with MC. It's so.. human-esque what with a reason and goal, not random destruction like some entity, but definitely the driven actions of a person. The realism of it really continues the creep factor when you get past the initial eeriness of the cartridge itself. God damn. EDIT: On top of this, the MC doesn't call the cops by way of even an OPTION. The constant changing may have fucked with his growth and he may not feel loved or needed in his life. This is prime prey for such an affectionate stalker. It may be a constant amongst a plethora of shiftings he may crave and the mother may be playing on this even. I'm also guessing she knows he watches anime, and may be even using that avatar not as a mask for herself, but more so something to use as a comfort lure for MC. She may even not care about anime, but have watched ALL of what the possibilities are just so she has something in common with her target, thus a way to connect easier. Sheesh.

After her talk of demon slayer we find out she sees you as a little sibling, and earlier in the game she was angrily scratching out the mother so maybe she was a previous child who was abandoned, maybe because of her obsession with her siblings so she wants to take her sibling back and raise them as her own.

i think another disturbing aspect, other than the story being about a woman obsessively chasing the child she gave up for adoption around, is the fact she barely speaks english the rest of the game hints that they're in an english speaking country, so i just have the extremely depressing mental image of a lone, probably poor immigrant woman chasing around a child she loves so deeply in her soul, getting passed from family to family. this isn't really a scary game honestly, it's a deeply sad one so much that it's unsettling

The "solomon" part makes me think of an old nursery rhyme called solomon grundy, i forget a lot of the details of it since i only read it once but basically the whole gist is that solomon grundy was born on the first day of the week, experienced important life moments on each day of the week and died on the last day. I don't know if that was intentional or not since solomon grundy is a pretty obscure nursery rhyme but it's interesting to think about

I think the more fitting story is the Biblical Story that showed King Solomon's wisdom. In which he suggested to two mothers (both whom claimed the infant son as theirs after one died) to split said infant son in half, so that each can receive him. The mother who screamed and cried to not harm the child and yo just give it to the other woman was deemed the real mother, for the mother who cared more about the infant's life would be the birth mother. Cause in this case the stalker claims the parents neglectful and so in that sense the stalker would be the actual mother for caring about the "infant" or MC.

Who I See was spectacular, I've thought about that game many times since the video (and am excited for the game in relation to it that they're working on). Glad to see the developer can achieve a whole different kind of creepy. Leaning into the more psychological horror makes this work quite well, I was not expecting baby stalking to be where this went. Hopefully the next "disk" can keep up this mood.

So if I'm correct I think the stalker and the MC were either in the same foster home for a time or in the same orphanage or something. Theres lots of talk about being alone or abandoned and the stalker talks about taking care of you in the past. The big hint here is Solomon. Solomon talks alot about not caring and just doing it for the fun of it. That might be a reference to the story of the two mothers who differ to Solomon about a baby. Solomon I think is the stalkers current foster sibling and is either sociopathic or really just doesnt care. He makes this entire thing a reality and implies that the stalker has been following you for a long time across multiple foster homes as you grew up. Real creepy stuff though. Good atmosphere.

1:40 I get ya on that one. Favorite doesn't work for me either since my mood changes what I'm most keen towards at that point in time, or what genre I'm more likely to think about or whanot. I really, REALLY love this. It feels fresh and somewhat intelligent in how it shows you what has been happening behind your back. I don't know if this will become a full game, but if it does, I hope the dev delves deeper into the scary aspect without using jumpscares; this worked really well with the piranha part, the woman's dialogue and the weird unnerving picture of a white room with a door that showed up every once in a while. I was fully expecting something to change and it kept me on edge. I'll keep an eye on this developer and hope you find more games like these!

I actually had a baby stalker. It was one of my dad's crazy girlfriends. She tried to kidnap me twice, I think? So my dad tells it anyway. Apparently when she first met me as a baby, she held me up with her hand on my bottom and I crapped down her arm lmao. When the kidnappings failed, she actually tried to hire a couple of bikers to assassinate me but they were friends of my dad's so they turned her in and she finally went to prison for a long time. Even as an adult, she came by the area where I lived and asked about me around the local bar but they basically told her to go away. I actually met her face to face when my dad died and she drove me out to his place to say goodbye and meet the half sister I hadn't seen in two decades. Turns out my sister is even crazier than my stalker. Family, amirite?

I think its important to consider the significance behind Solomon's name here. The "Judgement of Solomon" is a story about how Solomon, a king, had two women come to him both claiming a child was theirs, and to determine the true mother, he proposed the child be cut in half, each half given to each woman. One woman (not the mom) doesn't care if the baby is hurt, while the other would rather that the baby is unharmed and taken by the other woman. (There is more to this story so I recommend reading more on it). So this game's Solomon is also a sort of observer of the situation; he both helped make the game with the stalker, but also gave information to the stalked child. Perhaps the mother aspect of the biblical story does imply that the stalker is the mother (or someone who wanted to be the mother) to the stalked child. Just some food for thought.

Not sure if it's just a coincidence, but Solomon was the king who made the "Baby Riddle". The story goes that two women came to King Solomon with a baby. Each claimed that they were the real mother and the other was a lier. Unsure who to believe, the king concluded: "To be fair, I will have the child cut in half so you may each have him". The one-woman agreed, but the other fell to her knees weeping, even saying she was the lier. King Solomon gave the weeping woman the child, for she was the true mother. He knew that the baby's true mother would do anything to keep him safe, even if that meant giving him up.
