Fun fact, there's more Mongolian live in China and Russia than Mongolia.
@dorjbayar12863 жыл бұрын
You have to look from correct perspective. It means more Mongolia's land is colonized by China.
@userwsyz3 жыл бұрын
@@dorjbayar1286 that's not true. Mongolia has been very poor that many Mongolians moved to either China or Russia depending on where their relatives are. Don't forget Mongolia was part of China when Kublai Khan became an emperor of China. Then Stalin wanted half of the Mongolian land to become independent as a buffer zone when at the time the leader of the independent Mongolia really wanted to become part of Russia because at that time Russia was a stronger country compared with China. As an independent country, Mongolia had no industry nor agriculture, basically nothing. People were extremely poor that they started to move to either China or Russia.
@baqikenny3 жыл бұрын
@@userwsyz honestly the best section of mongolia for any significant resource-based economy is indeed inside china as inner province, yeah it's true that identity crisis happened and blended in to "chinese-ness" at kublai khan's period generations later, but upon becoming so, they were still human beings with ambition and greed just like elsewhere in the world, so it's inevitable for land takovers slowly by politic along economic dominance esp. It just depends on the narratives these days, people can call it colonization or sinicization or post-qing-invasion subjugation or whatsoever I think it's fine to whatever word it's used because as chinese we aren't saints or anything, history happened lol
@santbibliophile3 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about, China and Russia ARE Mongolia.
@userwsyz3 жыл бұрын
@@baqikenny you need to learn Chinese history. There had been a lot of mixing of the Mongols with the Chinese for centuries before Kublai Khan became an emperor of China. The Chinese tried to fend off the Mongols from the north by building the Great Wall, but the Mongols invaded China by going around the wall and got in through the areas that the wall was not connected. So China tried to pacify the Mongols by paying tributes and Chinese women were often given as one of the tributes. Also, the Mongols did not kill their Chinese captives but kept them and gave them Mongol women to marry. So a lot of intermixing. The Mongol army was composed of different ethnic groups and Han Chinese was one of them when the Mongols conquered about one third of the world land. The Russians and the Balkans were all at one time under mongol control. So China did not colonise Mongolia. Mongolia became part of China because of Kublai Khan. And no Han Chinese wanted to live in those areas. And Chiang Kai Shek did not hesitate when Stalin wanted the outer part of Mongolia to become independent. The dividing line is in the middle of the Gobi desert.
