I see comments questioning the calories. A steak like this has about 800 calories give or take a couple hundred. So it is in the range he indicated. I don’t agree with not eating grains and fruit because it lacks fiber but nevertheless, the calories are correct.

@chimaokehie733018 күн бұрын
Do your research before commenting. A ribeye has about 1:1 fat to protein ratio. Therefore, a 300g ribeye steak will be approximately 60g P/ 60g F which amounts to about 750 calories. If he does that twice a day you've got a 1500. Now don't forget the veggies have been sautéed in some sort of olive or avocado oil (1.5 tbsp = 21g = 180 calories) and the salad dressing contains another tbsp of olive or avocado oil (1 tbsp = 14g = 120 calories). All together you are looking at close to 1800 calories already. This doesn't take into consideration the foods like the veggies, teas, drinks or beverages he's taking in. Dude 1800-2200 is as accurate as it can get. You cannot compare a protein shake to a steak, I'm sorry.
@huwfulcher18 күн бұрын
The steak, salmon, non alcoholic beer and wine alone clock in at 1500 calories. He then has mayo in the steak, dressing on the salad. Easily 1800

@thr9449: I agree. That would boring pretty quickly. However thats not the only thing wrong with his diet. Theres so many things wrong with it I dont know where to begin Its extremely low calories. Meat and veg x 2. He's hardly eating anything. He thinks he's eating 1800-2200 calories which is insane . He's nowhere near that amount And its keto. Theres no carbs in his diet . There's so much missing from his diet And he's hardly consuming any fibre. He's getting a bit from the veg but that's it. He needs way more. Needs grains and nuts in his diet for fibre

@LauraB.33517 күн бұрын
@@oscarduke7946 - not true at all. Ketones are the body’s preferred energy source. No carbs are needed from an external source ever, as the body will provide all the glucose it needs through gluconeogenesis. And the brain can use up to 75% ketones for fuel, which is a much cleaner fuel for the brain and the heart. Fiber is completely unnecessary, and many have a hard time digesting it, especially those with IBS, UC, or Crohns.

@skorpers18 күн бұрын
Protein is a good wake up macro. When not paired with carbs it keeps your energy consistent. If you do eat carbs then you need to make sure to eat a consistent amount of slow digesting carbs each meal.

@@gilbertsaller913- nope, not true, depending on what type of cholesterol it is. LDL didn’t become a thing until the pharmaceutical companies created a drug that could lower it. “Normal” levels of cholesterol, when there were far fewer heart attacks, was much higher. Researchers are now finding that LDL can be protective, especially as we age.
@gilbertsaller91317 күн бұрын
Some of what you said is true, but it's just not that black and white. Pharmaceutical companies developed statins to lower LDL cholesterol in the 1980s, but the relationship between LDL and heart disease was well-established long before that. The Framingham Heart Study, which began in 1948, provided key evidence linking high LDL cholesterol to increased risk of heart disease. Statins were developed based on decades of research into cholesterol’s role in cardiovascular health, not because LDL itself was a new concept. It's also a misconception to say that 'normal' cholesterol levels were much higher in the past, leading to fewer heart attacks. While heart disease rates may have been lower in earlier years, factors like diet, life expectancy, and medical understanding played a role. We now know that high LDL is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular events, and current guidelines recommend keeping LDL levels under 100 mg/dL (or even lower for those at high risk). That said, you are right, there is some ongoing research suggesting that high LDL levels in older adults might not carry the same risks and could even have protective effects in certain cases, but there are a lot nuanced findings to those studies. It's also still an area of active research, and the broader scientific consensus remains that high LDL is a major risk factor for heart disease, particularly when combined with other factors like high blood pressure, smoking, and diabetes.
