Disgusting behavior, too. OP needs to let the other wives and girlfriends know the nature of Mary's relationship with that entire group of men. I'm guessing there never was a LD BF for Mary.

I'm FtM and before I realised that, in highschool I was still able to realise that "one of the boys" line was their excuse to have me close because they crushed on me. They also did exclude me from some of the "guys things" as well, while including me in others that got more sexual or close in nature. Although they at least joked around that they were gay with each other 🙄 but yeah. You really aren't ever "one of the guys" if that even has to be stated in the first place. I wouldn't even have an issue with her sleeping with them all if everyone, including their partners, were okay with it, but they weren't even made aware of it! Ffs!
@alichamay70122 жыл бұрын
@@damien678 It's a group mentality thing. There are stories of women friends doing the same thing. If everyone is doing it, it's not cheating. Equally, the term 'down low' also comes to mind. I'm sure in your case they were targeting you because the could 'justify' it as you identify as a 'guy' so it's not cheating. But people who are still closeted on their sexual identity will have group meet ups and some will randomly go off during group events to relieve their urges because they tell themselves it's 'keeps them faithful to their partners' and 'they are keeping safe because they are keeping it in the group' and the whole above if group is doing it=not cheating. Now, one would wonder why not join a swinger group? Reasons: 1. They don't want any stigma judgement 2. They know their partner doesn't want it 3. They want to cheat, but they don't want their partner to sleep with others. Some mix of the above.

1st story : YAY for OP getting out of that awful relationship. I am in a mixed marriage, married for over 26 years. I in the beginning when were still dating his best friend kept making subtle quips about my race, I'm Black, that made me feel uncomfortable. He was never outright racist, but was skirting the edge to have a plausible "That's not what I meant". My husband kicked him to the curb, and never looked back best friend or not. 2nd Story : I'm so glad they were able to come to an understanding. My husband and I made a list, and got veto power over any name. I wanted Christopher or Sébastien for our oldest, but my husband said he wasn't naming our son after my childhood cats. Fair enough 🤣. Unfortunately the name he ended up with happened to be after a well known weatherman. His first and last became my sons first and middle names. I didn't know what/who people were talking about when asked if we had named him after the guy. At that time I didn't watch a lot of TV, so had no idea who he was. Funny thing is that 8 years later the man happened to be presenting at the local fair in Marin County, and my son got to meet him. The name made him laugh, and then they took a picture together.

He didn't even care about Mary enough to not use her as a side piece, yet Mary must have thought if she kept sleeping with him for those first two years that he was officially with OP that he'd eventually "come around". At least part of Mary's story is sus as Hell. Maybe she slept with multiple guys...but it would not have been impossible to figure out who was the father. If there really was a baby(Mary might have been removed from home by her parents for mental health treatment if her sleeping around rose to the level of illness)she did not have to hide her pregnancy. UNLESS Mary KNEW the baby didn't belong to the guy she really wanted, could not risk that coming out and chose this way of hiding the fact. I agree with some redditors that Mary's dramatic story of witches and spells and trauma seems to, at the very least, be embroidered liberally with thread from Stephen King. That Mary has trauma, I don't doubt...at the very least she has been sexually available for multiple men she has long term friendships with and they've made use of this but kept her at the "one of the gang" level, never actually elevating her to the role of girlfriend in any public way and certainly never giving her the coveted title of fiance or wife. No guy in that group was ever, ever, EVER going to do so KNOWING she slept with his friends, multiple friends multiple times. The history would have made that untenable for most men...even if trust and fear of her cheating were not an issue for them. Knowing that she has been a convenience as much as a pal is probably traumatic for her...and her resentment seems to indicate that she definitely knows...and that might be made worse if her past with them included any kind of threesome or moresome activity. Could also be worse if Mary became known between the guys for a particular skill. A girl in my school whose dad was a local celeb had so little supervision that she ended up spending more nights than not having mostly unprotected sex with, as she put it, "NOTHING off the table. No taboos." Now, clearly Betty just wanted her dad's attention...and she FINALLY got it...but she also got time in a treatment facility for her "issues"( and to protect her from the pregnant wife of our school vice principal, a lady not amused to find herself with an std traced back to Betty) In the end, Betty ended up with a reputation that seemed to follow her(and was occasionally "renewed")and a tendency to try to deflect attention from her sexual adventures and misadventures by creating fictitious traumas of great drama to distract people from messy soap opera of her life. My guess is that Mary's traumas, both the real ones needing treatment and the fictitious ones she's using to try and manipulate her friends and OP, all have essentially the same origins...shame at her own behavior. And this is where Mary realizes, deep down, that she isn't TRULY "one of the guys" because most of THEM could OWN their sexual adventures, boast about them, be told "you're the man!" and looked up to by the less successful members of the group. They do not need to feel the shame Mary feels for the same three way or the same videotaped bj. It isn't fair to Mary that there should be such a double standard, but the cold truth is that there IS and it is brutal. Part of me feels sorry for Mary, though Mary is clearly as much of a bully as Betty could be but part of me thinks Mary is very dangerous. This group, effed up as her role in it is, is all Mary has and she has shown that she will fight to keep it. OP should put a continent between them.

@@tiryaclearsong421 still xenophobic. I’m assuming OP is white bc they’re from Romania and didn’t state otherwise. Making stereotypical comments based on where someone is from (Romanians being witches, Chinese people eating dogs, etc) is xenophobic. Racism would be “black people are criminals” or “white people can’t season food.” Sometimes can be both like when someone calls someone with brown skin a terrorist. The racism being making the assumption that they’re a foreigner/terrorist based on their skin color, and the xenophobia being them calling Middle Eastern people terrorists. You don't have a friend problem, you have a husband problem. Tell him to choose therapy or divorce. If he can not drop his racist jealous friend then he can drop his wife

It's called vino veritas, and it's a thing people have known about since fermented beverages became a thing. So like around the same time as human language.

I feel bad for Mary. There’s a lot of reasons. That being said, taking out her frustration on someone else by being racist isn’t cool. Also, she should have put a stop to this bs with the “friend group” (they are not her friends). The “friend group” is definitely to blame as THEY are the married ones, but it’s not like she didn’t know.

It means the same in Polish and is highly offensive. I never heard people using this to address their friends, and calling someone that is an offense punishable by law.

Romanian isn't a race it's a nationality, but hurtful stereotypes can be based on nationality. Roma *is* a persecuted ethnic group, many of whom are from Romania.

Ah, love the double standard from some of the commenters. Women can have exes as friends, or the man is insecure. How dare a man remain friends with an ex!

About the name story, I'll add a different perspective. Naming my child after a former crush/relationship/etc would actually be closure. I would never date anyone that shared a name with a family member or pets name or the female version of my own. Maybe I'm the only one but I think it's weird. I couldn't imagine dating someone with my daughters name cuz yeah, you could never say her name during sex without getting sick. Oh but the update really ends that.
@pansprayers2 жыл бұрын
It's weird. Don't do this to your partner, ever. You're either over your ex, or you shouldn't be having an entire human being with someone else. Your 'closure' is for you - your children, and any pets you share with your partner are not the appropriate vehicle for this.
@wheelsndealz2 жыл бұрын
@@pansprayers yeah, I didn't recommend it. Just pointed out that I would never be able to be in a relationship with anyone that shared a name with a family member or even a pet. So was giving another view to the whole, he must still have feelings bc he wants to name her after her.

I guess I would be Mary in my friend group. But like it's only because I'm the only girl in the group. It's a weird way that we all became friends so I'm not out there being mean to other women. I always get really excited when my buds bring over their new girlfriends. Like it's another girl to help me convince them that watching the same movie every weekend is not hanging out! I don't know why anyone would ever feel like they need to have all these guys romantically interested in them or want to completely take over them. I love my guys but they are my guys and not my boyfriend(s) for a reason.
