I built my own dryer last year, I build live edge tables and repair power tools, I remember working on a saw mill about 40 years ago and the old guy who own the mill came in one week end and painted every moving tool RED, and the log turner was one of the things he painted, never met a log I didn't like, grown and cut in the USA, if anything has happen about covid-19 is that we have learned something, and it is time to start acted on it, Made in the USA we could bring back millions of job back to this country. even in lumber, cut on my friends, wash your hands and stay safe, thanks again for a great vid.

That machine sings now! It was so cool that you cobbled it together and used it before all the repairs so that we can hear the difference between a worn mill & a beautifully rebuilt one. The carriage rides those rails like a new rail car now. It just sounds so smooth. That engine hums too. She sounds like a happy bee. Always a thrill to watch master tradesmen working at their craft. Mark, you probably would never get the chance to saw a Ponderosa Pine log, kinda tough when it grows out west, lol but I like all the logs you DO get to saw, that's why I like your videos so much, one of the reasons is because I am so mechanically minded and over curious about a lot of things. You and Eddie are doing a great job. I know I've asked you this before, but I'm in the market for a well built, solid wood 4 or 5 drawer Dresser, most places I've tried all they have is particle board, but I'll keep looking

Mark, the log Turner works really good now, I still wish I could smell the aroma of fresh cut lumber and also the sound of the saw singing, You can hear it slightly, but it's nothing like being there in person to appreciate all the sounds, sights and aromas that go with a sawmill.

You mentioned adding a kiln and a shipping container. Ramp dirt on sides of container to hold the heat leaving front and back accessible for loading and heater hookup lines for fuel, add one of those cast iron radiant tube ceiling heaters like they use in the garden section of almost every Walmart. you can get the burner assembly for about $400 and the tubes about $50 a section and to save money some run on waste oil then add salvaged furnace fans to circulate the air through the lumber stacks. (Kiln on a budget) Add a 500 or 1000 gal oil tank (check your local zoning) and let your neighbors know they can dump waste oil from their cars and you can heat your kiln for free.

Seems like it would be better to utilize the bus motor for power instead of buying gasoline plus now that the wall hides the sawdust blower you wouldn't really know when blower runs out of fuel. Just my opinion, but you should tip your camera down a hair more to catch more of the log entering the blade. A little less sky and more about sawing. Thx Btw, log turner looks great!

I would love to hear from T.H.E. Eddie during the cutting process. Put a mic on him. You two obviously know what you two are thinking . I would love to hear him.

Afraid the busmotor noise would be way too loud. You wouldn’t hear anything but noise. Wouldn’t work.

@@markgalicic7788 NO not during the cutting process. Before the cutting starts. I see him throwing scrap wood in a pile, I under stand that. But I also see him stacking wood in a couple of other places . I was just interested in what he is doing and thinking.

I live in California. We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Our governor acted the fastest in the country so we are going to make it. How well did your governor do?

I know that your not supposed to clean a Detroit engine unless your looking for new oil leaks but as an old 'diesel dummy' I sure wish you would give that old Bus motor a bath. That Detroit green paint looks real good without all that black on it.
