Deleting right in front of them is a truly savage move, especially considering how psycho people get about their wedding photos. They might be gearing up for a lawsuit, which is why they’ve been silent on social. A lawyer would advise them not to post anything disparaging online.

Groom was a total AH. I once did a free photo gig for a work friend. Her little niece's birthday, at Chuck E. Cheese. Full pizza party. I was included, enjoyed a pizza slice and a coke. I don't condone animal cruelty, not in the least, but I do keep wondering if the kid was crying because she's allergic to dogs and in pain. I have a family member who is fatally allergic to dogs and a self-righteous dog owner who thinks the law doesn't apply to them can seriously ruin his day. (I happen to speak German and checked - dogs need to be leashed in Berlin except in designated dog parks or if you have the mentioned Hundeführerschein.) Said family member doesn't even need to touch the dog, it's enough for him to be in the general vicinity of a dog to break out and get breathing difficulties. Also notice how OP doesn't say what the other dog (the one who got kicked) was doing. Maybe the dude was just an asshole. Or maybe he was a Papa Bear who'd seen one too many law-breaking dog owner caring more about their dog's leashlessness than his daughter's wellbeing and snapped. That wouldn't make the dog-kicking okay, because it's not the dog's fault, but kicking away a threat away from your daughter would at least be understandable, especially if said threat is entirely preventable by people not being dicks. I get it, I'd be furious as well if someone kicked my cat, but I also don't force my cat's presence on potentially allergic people. And threatening violence on behalf of an obvious asshole because the other party _appears_ to be a bigger asshole is... not a good look, guys. Again, not excusing the animal cruelty. Just offering the perspective of someone who has loved ones who literally _die_ in the presence of a dog. TLDR: Guy might have been trying to protect an allergic daughter from a threat to her health and overreacted, which would be bad, but not worthy of an epic beatdown.

Story 4: NTA. Given how easily Regina lies, and her parents support her, I'd not trust Brandon cheated, or if he did, would wonder just how badly he'd been treated before he ended up seeking solace. ETA. A better way to handle it might have been for OP to ask Brandon to tell his daughter the gift was from him, but not let on that she knew until given it on her birthday. That, if she needs clarification after her birthday, to talk to both him and OP who knew the gift was from him. No need to let on that OP for-warned Brandon :)

Story 1: The groom told OP to either "be a photographer" or leave without pay. What he think was gonna happen? NTA, the groom aint no friend. OP should cut out that noise and ask his so called "friend" if those photos were so important, the why not just pay for a actual photographer instead of taking advantage of their now non exisysnt friendship. Story 3: I had a teacher in 7th grade, (she was a woman so not exactly the same but still important) she was very nice to me and there was a point where I uhh... had a bit of an _incident_ and upon realizing what happened I refused to get up from my seat until everyone was gone even after the lunch bell rang, and when everyone was gone I got up from my seat and very awkwardly explained what happened to her. She didn't even bat an eye and comforted me, telling me it's okay while giving me cleaning supplies for my seat and asked if I had any pads or if I needed one since she had some in her desk for this exact reason. We really need more teachers who are understanding that it's not something we can control and that accidents happen. I was *mortified* but she helped me feel better and bless Op for trying to show that same level of care.

@@cedric7751 first of all please leave the gore out. Dont say you would end a dog, there are kids that could stumble on here that might not take well to guy talking about ending dogs. Just say dogs not on the leash are not flying with you or similar. Second: there are way more efficient ways to rid an attacking dog then just killing it. A loud bang is enogh most of the time and considering their height and the fact that you you have a single eye you shouldnt use guns on them. You might just shoot yourself in the foot or you shoot the ground risking a ricochet that might end up killing or hurting bystanders. And lastly: playing macho doesnt make you cool. If a dog runs at you with the intent to kill you wont have the time to draw, aim(with one eye) and kill. You would run like everyone else because nobody can be so stupid to fight a rabit animal. And if the dog has no intentions to kill or harm: congrats you just killed an innocent dog and are charged with animal cruelty.

They’re lucky Op didn’t faint from the lack of food, rest, and little water. Considering the circumstances, Op might have had grounds to sue if they did faint. I get that you need to leash dogs in public, but why did that man kick a dog when it’s not even being aggressive? He attacked a dog because he, himself, is too aggressive to be unleashed. Treating period related stuff like a taboo that men are too immature or perverse to “interact” with is why many men are either pathetically grossed out by it or insanely unintelligent about women’s bodies and the related hygiene products. That teacher is a good man. Thank Op for choosing the child(Becky) over the immature brat of an “adult”(Regina). Ugh. It is so annoying when people don’t leash their dog. Whenever I walk my dog and see a leash-less dog and I’ll grab my dog. Then they say “Oh don’t worry, my dog is friendly.” And I have to yell “Mine is not! Please stop your dog from approaching mine!” Then they get all huffy. Leashing your dog isn’t a punishment, it protects them.

1. Reminds me of stories from r/ChoosingBeggars. Treat cheap or free help well; they have little reason to stay. 2. Always leash your dogs! I know that dad's an animal abuser, but that doesn't change the point. 3. Susan's being a Susan here. All OP is doing is looking after his female students, nothing more. 4. Becky deserved to know Brandon was trying to be a good father. Regina's taking her dislike of him too far. 5. Chris needs to do some work, but OP needs to rethink some of these rules. Dogs should be leashed... The one time my older sister said she didn't need a leash cause she was getting a ride to a place and back... Well guess what.. She didn't get a ride back and while walking our dog home unleashed he saw a squirrel and bolted after it...right into the road... He got hit by a car really bad and barely survived. We were extremely lucky he survived. She never took our dog out without the leash again. Dogs should be leashed❤

I was walking my daughter's Maltese, leashed, however, there was no sidewalk so we always had her to our inside away from the road and this moron who was tired from working the night shift, speeding, posted limit is 25 because there is no sidewalk and it's right along the lake, he came over the little hill, over the line and when I moved to get out of the way he hit our dog, almost ripped my arm off because of how fast he was going, but he killed my daughter's little baby!! Thank goodness there was a bike cop right there dealing with another person and caught the whole thing on his bodycam, and I got to use it in civil court. He was very lucky he wasn't arrested!! Got the cost of our dog, and my medical expenses covered, plus some pain and suffering for witnessing the whole situation, which could have been avoided if he wasn't speeding and was paying attention!! Also helped that he was a complete Dick and wanted to argue with the judge! So judge hammered him and berated him! It broke my daughter's heart and she's really never been the same since! Always worrying about our current dogs and refuses to walk them, will not let her cats outside at all, even on a leash! I agree that all dogs should be leashed but that doesn't guarantee that something tragic doesn't happen!!

27:02 - This comment is spot on. People who buy into the "You follow my rules as long as you put your feet under my table." line are borderline braindead. Either the rules are good, in which case one can and should make the argument _why_ they are good, or they are _not_ good, in which case it is morally wrong to enforce them by lording house ownership over someone's head. And as the commenter pointed out some of the rules basically only served to infantilise and annoy the son with no thought given to practicability or usefulness. OP _could_ have put his ideas to the test by running them past his wife and adjust them accordingly, but _for some reason_ I didn't get the impression that they are the kind of couple who gives a shit what their significant other thinks and for what reasons. for the story with the "Hundeführerschein": German politics dont make sense. both sides were right. ops dog doesnt need to be leashed and every dog obtained(?) after 16 needs to be if you dont have that license. the "correction" comment said it "only available for dogs gotten after july 2016" therfore this rule doesnt go for OPs dog who is older than that. Rules in germany always create seems for some reason. there is always an "it can be applied" and an "it cannot be applied" allthough the only difference between two situations is time. Germany is completely nonsensical sometimes. And yes what I am saying is : this is german efficiency. it does not exist(at least in politics) its always a battle between dumb and dumber with rare outliers of somewhat sensible and a once in 20 years occasion of "finally a good thing! Good job!"

Yes, Germany is wonderful with stuff like that. I once had a veterinary person visit because my personal nightmare neighbours said my dog "never got walked", and the official government person visiting told me after questioning that I can NOT NOT unleash my dog, a dog has to be free, and it is animal cruelty to always have them on the leash. Our rules here literally state that dogs are to be leashed, no exceptions that I know of. You can get fined, or, funnily enough, get a official veterinary person send to check if you look after your pets. So THE GOVERMENT DUDE told me to go against a firm rule, even though I have a traumatized hunting dog. Absolutely nuts.

However OP is acting like this has been like this for years. It's been 4 MONTHS. Maybe the kid is taking a much needed break after 16 years work at school. He should be contributing something to the house, but there may be a good reason why he didn't know thay(see "Finally" below) How is he supposed to get a job without wifi? All jobs require internet applications. We are also in the worst job market of our lifetime. Not only that but OP did this unilaterally without input from his wife. Theybare supposed to be partners. Finally, what I think really makes him the asshole is this. It's been 4 months. OP mentions talking to his wife about his concerns. Has he ever talked to his son before dropping all this on him? If not, and that's what it sounds like, he did NOTHING to try and fix the situation before jumping straight to "my house, my rules." Yes, he's 23 and a college graduate, but many people go from living like a kid and go straight college. They come back home on breaks and keep the same lifestyle. He may not have understood that expectations were different because that's all he's ever done at home. Add mom doing all that stuff for howitzer, and he may have been under the impression that it was OK. Without OP making any expectations known, how was he supposed to know OP didn't like the situation or needed to change especially with mom doing everything? OP went from zero to "I'm tresting you like a child" without ANY discussion and did so without his wife's input or agreement. That makes him an asshole too. Edit: THANK YOU! Then his other little mix pup ran in front of my car as I was about to drive off. I can’t stand people who don’t leash their animals especially if they cannot be controlled in the slightest.

Story 2: my dog is aggressive at other dogs but great with people. Keep your dog leashed, I don't want to be responsible for your dog being attacked because they weren't leashed.

1. NTA People can have a heat stroke in that heat w/o anything to drink. They didn't give OP anything to eat, drink or sit for a short break. "Be a photographer or go home." People need a break, in the heat they need to stay hydrated. Crappy people get crappy service. 2. YTA There is a leash law for a reason. "My dog is friendly." How many times have we heard that one and then the dog attacks? Too many. 3. NTA When my sons were teenagers and had tons of friends coming over, including female friends, I kept period products in their bathroom for their friends. I had a hysterectomy when I was 30, so I didn't keep those things for me. It would have been awesome if teachers had of done this for their students. I don't get women who think this is all taboo and shouldn't talk about this. CA teachers don't make tons of money though. 4. NTA Regina lied and got called out on it. I can get her being upset because he cheated on her, but what she is doing is called alienation of parental affection and she can lose custody of her daughter. Who caused the drama to begin with? Regina. I'd be leaving after this nonsense. 5. NTA "I'm an adult!" Then Chris needs to start acting like one if he wants to be treated as one.

Story one. You can tell everything you need to know about people by how they treat “the help”. Expecting an amateur photographer working by themselves to work 8+ hrs without a break, without food, without water, without a place to sit. Those people are trash. They probably wouldn’t have paid anyway “your photos could be your gift to us”.

Story 2: OP is NTA. The guy who kicked the tiny and elderly should be charged with animal abuse and put on a list to prevent him from having animals and being around them. I don't care if OP's dog startled that guy's kid or not, that doesn't give ANYONE a reason to kick an animal. Also, the small elderly dog did nothing to them. This guy NEEDS to not only be on an animal abuser list, but also be in jail for violence against an elderly animal that couldn't defend itself.

27:49 I’m sorry but what is this sentence? So you’re telling us that it would be harder on everyone else that they all do their own laundry but someone doing everyone’s laundry isn’t? Gross. I’d never touch my brother’s laundry. I have done my laundry since I was in high school. My mom does hers and my brother does his. We schedule days on when we do laundry that goes with everyone’s schedule. It’s not that hard for a 4 person household to make a schedule of the son to do his own damn laundry in 7 days. Harder on everyone? And they have the audacity to say OP doesn’t know laundry? 🙄

The wifi makes a lot more sense if you realize they probably have a limited data plan instead of an unlimited plan. My mother did the same thing to my wifi bill (and she did it watching Netflix videos too, i ended up getting *so many* fee emails while i was stuck at work and couldn't shut it off) and now instead of $70 its now at $110 just so i can avoid data fees that are $30 a pop.

I only have 1 problem with story 5. What is Chris's degree in? If he can work from home, 6hr. of internet isn't going to cut it. If he can't work from home, the degree may be hurting his chances with getting a job because he's overqualified.

Everyone at my house does their own laundry. I don't want my laundry mixed with other people's laundry. It in no way makes things harder on anyone

Yeah, this one threw me a little. True on the dishes, switching just for one extra set of dishware is definitely a nuisance, but, hopefully, nobody is doing just one set of clothes. The only thing I can think of is the comment meant rinsing and putting them in the dishwasher rather than just leaving them in the sink (or, I wouldn't put past this character, on the table) for mommy to take care of.

Story5: My take on why he made his rules(re wifi) is that son is probably gaming all day. And yes, 6 hours of job hunting a day is more than enough time.

As someone who is terrified of dogs I very much agree that dogs unleashed wouldn't be an ideal world for me. Even if your dog is friendly no one else is going to know. Besides there will always be 'those' people who can't control their dogs or not really care. I've experienced the worst of them, which is why I'm now terrified of dogs.

My little sister is terrified of dogs. Age, size, doesn't matter, she's extremely scared of them. She doesn't know why she's so afraid, she just is. She would freak out if a dog runs up to her. People just need to be respectful of others when it comes to animals.
