I've lost 40kg (~80 pounds) since june 2022 and indian clubs were my first kind of training after 30 tears of sedentary, slow suicide I was commiting before TV. I learned basics from Richard Maguire (check his back muscles, he's a beast lol). I can confirm that clubs are awesome for core AND developing nice, manly V-shape silhouette. You obviously need to excercise whole body not to look idiotic with huge back and small chest, or big shoulders and no traps, big triceps with no biceps etc. Clubs are also great for us guys, they're kind of primal thing, a mace, basic human weapon. Also good for sword of course, that's actually how clubs developed over centuries to build better swordsmen. Great content mr Wildman, I was always more fond of stuff that imitates real movement like kettlebell, club and just physical labour (like walking with heavy sandbag on your shoulder) instead of a gym. Just more fun for me, especially when done outside in the sun. Cheers!

Yes, rotation is a set of skills that needs perpetual reinforcement. I work with a trainer on segmental rotation: the "recruitment" of other parts of the body in a rotation undermines stability and control. I am sure my trainer has martial arts in mind when he corrects my form and these videos are consistent with this approach.

Amazing vid Mark. I must have heard you say these things maybe 50 times but the way you described the benefits and need to rotate every joint was superb 👌🏼

Excellent! I had to lookup the club swipe to confirm this was a swipe rotated into another plane of movement -- it's a very good idea and honestly, I resolve to use my clubs a lot more in 2024.

Pendulums are a great way to transition from one side to the other and/or one movement to another

There is an iconic photo of Bobby Hull pitching hay on his farm in 1966 which illustrates this. I am sure he had it distributed just to let people know that there was really no point to interfering with him on the ice.

This drill showed up how much I rib-flaired on the outside pullover ( versus the inside when I have no issue driving the ribs down ), had to really focus on driving the midsection into the hips. These drills series come into their own......................when you actually do them !

Every drill is meant to expose some weakness, and we will make drills forever until we find all the weaknesses
