Hmm. This is an interesting question, because it makes me ask the question, "If family life isn't always merely a distraction from the glory of God here on earth, why would it suddenly begin to be always merely a distraction from the glory of God when we are in heaven?" I think that is the best question that I've ever asked myself, and it could bring about some interesting gospel discussions. Obviously truths are truths, and I wonder why mainstream Christianity has this viewpoint about family life in eternity.

I am so grateful for my temple covenants and the knowledge I have that marriage and family endured beyond the grave. I cannot imagine how disorienting and heart wrenching it would be to believe that death is the end of those sacred relationships. We are God’s children. I mean, the cool thing about these pastors who are preaching the joy of a heaven that does not have eternal families is that, as good men in their own right, they're gonna get exactly the kind of heaven they look forward to. That said, I have a friend who joined the church while I was friends with him. One of the big things that drew him to the gospel was our doctrine on family. He came from a family broken with divorce and knew since he was a kid he wanted something better than that. He is now married and sealed to a wonderful woman and they are progressing the covenant path together.

I like clarification video's like this. You always do a great job in clarifying things in a non defensive way. Honestly, right now, I just wish everyone from every different faith could just come together, arm and arm and unit. Come together in common ground and drop the differences we have. I think what you did here is good because you did it on your channel for hopefully people who are wanting to understand what we believe as opposed to wanting to fight and say how wrong we are with the attitude of we are right and you are wrong. There are so many different sorts of battles going on in our world now. Wars in politics and the Israelite and Palestinian war. Or being straight vs being transgender or battles with attitudes of I'm smart and your dumb, I'm right and your wrong, I'm big and you are small. I think maybe I feel like Captain Moroni where he just wanted peace. He didn't want to fight and was always open to uniting and living peacefully with everyone. Please know that what I'm saying here, I'm not implying you are being disrespectful or that I disagree with your video because it was well done and I believe truth needs to be spoken and I know that's what this video was about. I just want peace. Can't we just respect each other's beliefs and come together with our commonalities. Like we are all children of God and deserve to be loved, respected, listened to and understood. Truly it's a battle field right now and I'm hoping people will soon get tired of fighting against each other and instead come together and lock arms and say, we don't see eye to eye but I love you and I want to live in peace with you. That's what I'm hoping and praying for. 💕🙏 Thank you for presenting this in such a good way and trying to clarify some truths. 💕

Thank heavens, literally for the knowledge that we possess or this rough, difficult, sorrow filled, hard, life would surely be impossible to bear, or endure to the end, if there was not something more waiting on the other side, for those who strive to do the Lords will and keep his commandments and walk the covenant path. it is the only hope I have that keeps me sane and gives me the strength to carry-on when times are rough which these days is more frequent than not. The contrast between the gospel of Jesus Christ and other main stream organizations when looked at side-by-side this way are very great. It is eye-opening, even. It's something that makes so much sense when you really look at it and think about it closely. It makes sense because family is how all of this started. If the power of binding and sealing, the priesthood was not restored, and thus, we could not seal families together, the Earth would be utterly wasted at the coming of the Lord. I'd like to ask and other denominational Christian why Malachi's prophecy puts so much emphasis on this. It's one of the most beautiful doctrines and without it, I cannot understand the gospel.

I recently stumbled across the idea... that in many of the darker places of the world in Asia, people don't marry or are given in marriage. Instead, they kidnap, steal, or buy a child to make their wife. This isn't in the US, but in Asia. And this is why these people wear dark heavy clothing on woman, to make them not be targets. Its a very different perspective than what we think of in marriage. Its not a law abiding society, but instead the ILLUSION of such. Where human life is cheap and viewed as anything goes if its by carnal strength that made it. And part of this POV is that the world is filled with and surrounded by darkness. That's what our scriptures say. That the world is in chains of darkness, and filled with corruption. Corruption implies, you get an illusion and lie told to you but the perception of truth shows something different. (In the Matrix, Neo had to figure out what real truth was, but if he hadn't chosen truth, what he chose not to see was still there.) The world... of Babylon is using illusion to hide how ugly it is. And how detestable it is. And its not the kind of world that you'd want to spend eternity in. ... This leads you to the idea that, maybe when Jesus said -> Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Maybe when he says that its reflective of how dark this world is and how its a bad system. But when people read stuff like Matthew 22:30 they think it means we won't have marriage after this life. Instead, I reason that it means there won't be BEAST SYSTEM marriages after this life. No predatory marriages. It has to be a different system that is void of darkness, void of enmity, and only done through light, virtue, and those DESERVING of a better future. Now if I'd skipped this first paragraph above, it wouldn't fully reflect why it has to be different. And this country still has predatory systems in it, not just Asia. We just do it differently. Economic murder exists in this country, so does wife stealing, and destroying someone, you just can't do it visibly. But you can do it economically. So we're still in somewhat of a beast predator system. Eventually that beast system will be fully revealed; daniel and revelations hint that it will just be revealed in the open and accelerated, but that it was there before. So... back to marriage and eternal marriage. For someone to be given in marriage after this life, it can't be done through a beast/predator system. When you read Daniel and Revelations, I believe you can put 'predator' in place of 'beast'. So of course Matthew 22:30 sticks and is real. But I don't think it means there won't be marriage. Instead, it will be those deserving of something better, and probably closer to how the early patriarchs in the church were given spouses. This is a world of predators and prey. We're choosing to rise above the predator (beast system; Daniel and Revelations), and to endure to the end to live worthy to prove we can have something better than this world. Now this makes the sealing system seem that much more perfect and better. Because, for someone to accept being sealed with someone, then they'd have to have shown the other person and their family that they are above a BEAST / predatory system, predatory darkness filled world. Unfortunately I don't think everyone can rise above a predator system. And this is why a ZION system must be your goal. You must try to go build a Zionistic society where EVERYONE can be equal and be free together, live together in peace, and all prosper. Because if you don't have that you have a beast/predator system. And Zion and predator beast systems are complete opposites. Therefore, its very interesting that the last days quote the rise of Zion and also the Beasts opposing one another and it. This would explain what this means -> D&C 132:16 Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are appointed angels in heaven, which angels are ministering servants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory.

Yes I noticed how many people, when the mother or father passes away, whose spouse has previously died, it's the first and often only thing the rest of the family and friends say... "oh, now they are finally reunited with their beloved spouse!" (or other beloved deceased family member), and there's no real mention of, "Oh, now they are with Jesus!" I had a friend who died over a year ago who was blind for most of her life, and she had two deceased husbands. She was an inactive Latter-day Saint, and all she could do toward the end of her life was talk about her longing to be with Jesus, never really a mention of her other family -- who I believe she thought she would be reuniting with as well -- and of course regaining her vision -- but her priority was Jesus.

Marriage was created by God in the garden of Eden before the fall. Ecclesiastes 3:14 says that anything that God does is forever. He made Man, woman, and marriage in that garden. So if you agree with postmodern thought that marriage is a man-made institution and is subject to mankind’s shifting ideas and definition, then it- like gender- is changeable and temporary. However- if you believe that marriage and gender is of God, then these are both eternal manifestations of his power and the work of his hands.

It is because they teach against eternal marriage that the Book of Mormon teaches all churches, except for the church of the Lamb of God, The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints , are the church of the devil. The devil wins a high victory if he convinces people to not believe in eternal marriage. We were single and separate as spirit children of God, and if we ardheare to that belief, we will be single and separate as immortals. The world is limited in its own knowledge, there are many doctrines to learn. The source of knowledge is the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Days Saints, out of it is not light, justly personal interpretations. Each of us are into our own true, as we do not understand the scripture. Elder Holland in his video cited the scripture when the Lord said in the kingdom of God the man is not without the woman and vice versa. The natural men does not understand entirely how he doctrine of God. Understand and live the purpose of the life without the guide of the Holy Ghost is all impossible. For that reason Pastor Jeff even though he study the Bible can not understand eternal principles, because he does not have the gift of the Holy Ghost. The ideas of man is oposite of the eternal revelation, which it come from the true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world need the true, and not the idea of the men.❤ Family can be together forever. That is the whole true.❤❤

Let's look at what Jesus Christ really said about marriage. First Jesus quotes God "Therefore shall a man leave father and mother and cleave unto his wife, and they twain will be one flesh.", this God said right after he married Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and Jesus then added " What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." Sounds like marriage is very important to God if he's putting husbands and wives together himself. Now what does it say in the Bible about things God does? Ecclesiastes 3: 14 "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:". So any marriages put together by God would have to be for ever, unless God loosed them, or one of God's servants given God's power to bind or loose on earth and in heaven. Which would be done in cases of Adultery. And as for those misinterpreted verses about the resurrection, I haven't been resurrected yet, and even if I died tonight, it would be some time before I got resurrected, plenty of time to be married or given in marriage. The closest to a problem is Luke 20: 35. But the way this goes against the importance God places on marriage, and contradicts all the other verses, this has to be a translation problem. For the wording of Luke 20: 35 seems to imply that any marriage makes someone unworthy of resurrection or the world to come. You can't have God joining marriages together himself if that disqualifies people of resurrection and the world to come.
@donnavaughn94094 ай бұрын
There is a fullness of joy when we have a perfected body united with our spirit from having a resurrection, with everything being restored perfectly in a body that will last for eternity. And what is deeper and makes more sense is that, we don't just have a Father in Heaven, we have a Mother as well, she isn't mentioned, and we that her work isn't the same as the FAther's, and you can not have one without the other. All these things on earth, the family unit is patterned after the life we had as spirit children where we were nurtured and getting ready at some point to take on a body. Not everyone wants eternal life, that eternal life is gaining all that our Heavenly parents have, Christ promised us that we would gain what the Father had. That is something I want to ever be gaining intelligence and being happy and being with my immediately family, the same sociality here will be there, only in a place with glory and happiness unknown here. In some way we were created in the spirit, whatever way that was, our sacred ability to create life, will never end. And it takes faith and a desire to know eternal truths, and I sought that out over 50 years ago, and now I'm 72, I've had many years of many experiences with in Christ's restored church, that church is to perfect the saints, and it's done in many ways. There is nothing on earth that teaches and rings true, like the gospel as taught as being restored in the latter-days by the LDS faith, some are picking up some of the teachings and incorporating them into their own churches, I've seen that, which is interesting.

President Russell M. Nelson shall have two wives in the Celestial Kingdom; with Sister Wendy giving birth to children; something she failed to do in mortality.

What happens if a married couple is sealed but they go to different kingdoms/levels of heaven?

I attended a sealng ceremony in the temple recently and the sealer asked us to listen carefully to the words. While it does say a couple is married for time and all eternity, it never says they are sealed to each other. It says they are sealed to the blessings ... of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and posterity and kingdoms, etc. Perhaps it is like a patriarchal blessing. The promise of all of those blessings is ours if we continue to choose it, but nothing is a guarantee if opt out. It's a gift we can choose to receive together as husband and wife, but not inevitable if we don't want to choose it. If one spouse opts out then the other one who opts in would still sealed to all of those blessings, however God works that out for that to happen.
