Can someone explain what the "front end" means when hes talking about pedals? And what an FX loop is? Thanks.
@DoctorMcFarlandStudios3 ай бұрын
You can talk to me directly instead of 3rd person :) the front end is your amps input where you plug your guitar in. Often times you want to put overdrive pedals in between your guitar and the input of the amp so the pedals hit the preamp section or “front end” of the amp. An FX loop allows you to put Fx in the power amp section for a cleaner response. This is mainly for boost pedals, delay, reverb and modulation. The Code 50 does not have an FX loop but the Code 100 does.
@josephkuser39983 ай бұрын
@DoctorMcFarlandStudios thanks. Didn't figure I'd get a response from you since this video is 6 years old. Lot to try to figure out with this stuff. The music shop sold me a daisy chain but I noticed some people have a power supply. I only have two pedals. Have any videos on the difference between the two?
@DoctorMcFarlandStudios3 ай бұрын
@@josephkuser3998 With analog pedals a daisy chain is fine. When using digital pedals you would want an isolated output which a power brick will give you. The Voodoo Labs Pedal Power Plug and Truetone CS6/12 are good options if you need to power a full pedal board with isolated outputs.

First time I ever played this combo at GC, nobody was there. The place had just opened up. I thought this was the worst piece of crap I've ever played and I've played 'em all ('61 speaks for itself). Then for whatever reason, I clicked the cab option to turn it off and for the love of God, it was like a completely different animal. I keep watching all of these Code 50 demos with the cab option activated and I'm left to ponder who on earth would think THAT is a better option than turning it off? You're already playing through a cab. You're not going to make a 1x12 sound like a 4x12...that ain't gonna happen. I've never played a digital combo whose cam sim was appropriate for live playing through the speaker itself. That's a tone sucking, wet blanket over the speaker button. Watch Ola discover what happens when you turn it off. His reaction was comical.
