Here is a walk around video of my JGC to show all the modifications that have been done to the engine, transmission, interior, suspension, and body. I'll show the fuel tank tuck, electric fan conversion, double din radio, and much more. This is an ongoing project with many more changes yet to come, so please subscribe and watch the transformation.
I used an MMD 71323-00 hood scoop that I purchased from www.americanmu... for 109.99 free shipping.

I love the pride and workmanship put into all the work you have done to make your JGC a masterpiece. Mine is a 2000 WJ I purchased from a person who said it had an engine tick. A new fully reco engine and other work performed and my JGC is a great car with near perfect paint and body and interior. To get mine right I had to: 1) Replace the engine (old one spun big end bearing) 2) Dash and HVAC out to replace the broken blend doors, heater core and AC evaporator 3) Steering box rebuild (sloppy steering) 4) Ditch the mechanical engine fan 5) Double core all alloy radiator 6) Replace tailgate gas struts 7) Rectify electrical issue with door mirrors not working (bolt through wiring lume in the drivers door)

Very very nice. My wife has an 02 4.7ho same color. I bought it with a spun bearing on number 8. Had about 4,000 worth of machine work and parts fitted. Shaved the block and bed plate, line bored and some experimental stuff. Toyota pistons and shorter heavier rods. I can run right with a srt8 jeep if its stock. All manifolds, intake and exhaust. Ran out of money when wife was rear ended and hurt her back. She lost her job as a result but I bought the jeep back from insurance company. Love your work

@r.deanmcknight136
@r.deanmcknight136 4 жыл бұрын
Toyota pistons will fit in the 4.7? What kind of performance gains have you gotten out of that. I'm in process of a build and looking to get as much HP and Torque out it before supercharged, if I go that route. Any input will be appreciated 👍😎
@mathewpennington7049
@mathewpennington7049 4 жыл бұрын
The machine shop had to order the pistons special but said they were lighter. Since the journal were scored he wanted to up the compression. With this setup it revs quicker and holds tourqe better for stronger shifts. I cut the tourqe management #10 wire and installed a toggle switch. When off it hits second gear harder faster. That makes a very big difference in time. 0-60 is way better than stock for sure. We recently moved to North Carolina and I gotta get back to putting more goodies like yours has.

Awesome, thanks for info. I will be checking into that when I start my build. Any idea what the part# is for those pistons ? 😁👍😎
@mathewpennington7049
@mathewpennington7049 4 жыл бұрын
I have no idea of the part number for the pistons but I know they had to be machined some and thus why shorter rods. I have another set of heads but I want to build them and flow match everything. The 4,000 was just in machine work as I had to assemble everything lol. My son drives an srt8 charger and when he drove this jeep all he kept saying was dang dang and this is with stock exhaust manifold and intake. I am making the intake setup Martin has. You know how much money can get into our toys

That badboy is sweet! Nice work! I have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee special edition! I just changed my wheel bearing hubs because I thought my ball joints was bad but all four are good! Turns out it was the passenger side wheel bearing hub separating into 2 pieces causing my death wobble. I replaced sway bar links front&back, track bar twice, all four tie rods, steering stabilizer, lower control arms, shocks and rotors! I have front upper control arms but haven't put them on yet! I also replaced radiator and fan, Engine control module, fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, mass airflow sensor and tps! My mom help me get it about 2 years ago and I been replacing, fixing and getting it restored! When I got it, it had death wobble real bad! I couldn't go over 45mph but now it's finally fixed and I can hit 75mph with no wobble! Feel weird now that it's fixed... Thanks for making the video, I enjoyed it and you gave me a few ideas💡😉

I've owned a 1995 Laredo (318ci),1999 Limited (4.7), 2003 Limited (4.7), 2003 Overland (4,7HO)(still have it with 180K miles), 2016 Limited (3.6), and just bought a 2021 Limited X with a 3.6. I never did any mods to my 4.7's, but honestly say that understandably the technology of the 3.6 V6 blows away the stock 4.7's. I despised the 2005 through 2010"s, so I never bought one. Your videos are awesome! Love your rig(except for the 20"rims)! Keep making videos, no matter what vehicle you own.

Definitely a solid build. I quite like it. It’s nice to see someone do something a little different than the traditional WJ build. I’ll admit I’m doing a traditional off road build on my 04 WJ, but would not hesitate for a second to have one like yours for street duty. Love the ingenuity, thanks for sharing. Oh, got to give love for the functional Mustang hood scoop! My 04 GT doesn’t even have a real functioning hood scoop. Really glad to see you didn’t do like a lot of people and glue on a non functioning hood scoop just for the look.

Boy!!!! That car is shiny !!! Nice,, but I wouldn't move my Battery to a lower place like under chairs and some people have it in the Trunk. Not too smart you always have to keep in mind Natural Disasters like heavy rains like flooding, also, modification always brings problems and never stops fixing the car, once you started you never end.

Hi Martin, that Jeep looks great, I also got a Jeep WJ but diesel 2.7 with mercedes engine, parts for Jeep very expensive in SA. I just now bought a ball joint adapter kit from amazon, still waiting delivery, but love my Jeep

I have more of an offroad wj, but I really like what you've done. I think you should do some sort of vinyl wrap over the wood trim to bring the "blacked-out" theme come all together (especially since the double din fascia is black already)

My only question is why are you not the lead design engineer at Jeep or wonder if they've ever contacted you? Most of your designs and projects are patent worthy and ought to be copyrighted, if it weren't for your kind willingness to share and contribute to the community for free already. Great respect for folks like you. Thanks for such consistent and quality content
