Mongul Origins - Obsessed Inhumane Cosmic Conqueror That Broke Superman Physically And Mentally

There are quite a few DC- supervillains with an immensely high power quotient, and one such character is Mongul. Mongul had two versions. The first one, created by writer Len Wein and artist Jim Starlin debuted in the DC Comics Present issue 27, November 1980, which was also during the Bronze Age of comic books. The second version was created by Jerry Ordway, who made its first appearance in The Adventures of Superman issue 454 as the Lord of Warworld. The character was later polished by Peter Tomasi and Scot Eaten in Showcase '95 issue 8, which was known to us as Mongul II. The character is approximately 8 feet tall and, in several events, has been challenging for many of the DC superheroes, even superman. All thanks to the dense history of Mongul and his several appearances, it's still difficult to track every detail about the character. However, it's worth a shot, and in today's video, we will be exploring our powerful and fear-inducing supervillain- Mogul.

If I'm not mistaken Mongul is DC's expy/counterpart to Thanos, which is himself Marvel's expy/counterpart to Darkseid. So technically Mongul is a third generation Darkseid Duplicate, kinda like his symbolic/idiological grandson.

I loved the episode of Justice League superman battled in a gladiator style fights and ended up fighting Mongul and a beaten down fighter had to help superman

I liked the episode but hated that part. It doesn’t line up with Mongul’s level of power when he showed up again in a later episode. That beaten down fighter managed to solo Mongul yet Mongul is able to overpower most of the League(freaking Wonder Woman and an enraged Superman included) singlehandedly. It doesn’t make sense.

My "perfect" Superman movie trilogy would have Mongol as the third movie villain. I would love to see him capture Superman and Supergirl and do the gladiatorial combat thing. he's cruel and powerful enough to to fit the "last villain" role and Mongal could add some villain in-fighting ad split up the final battle, with the Kryptonians teaming up while the tyrants are too busy fighting each other.

Simple Batman has proven time and time again that he is well loved and sells extremely well. Warner Bros is too afraid to take risks on other characters if they don't sell well enough. We are lucky that WW and Aquaman succeeded.
