Hell ya man!! My Dad spent 5 years based out of Camp Pendleton in the Marine Corps. I never signed up. But through my Dad, the Marines had a big impact on how I was raised, like it or not. Main thing he instilled; you DON’T give, you work hard until the job is finished. Also, many hand to hand combat and expert Marksmanship training. All have served me well. Awesome work man! From NC MN.

My good friend served 2 tours in Afghanistan as a Marine and he was awarded a purple heart for his bravery during battle. He has severe PTSD, nightmares, and his body is wrecked. Our government doesn't provide enough support and assistance for our injured Veterans. They'll just keep you medicated to numb the pain, the VA hospital is a joke.

Body is wrecked? Of course it is wrecked. He went to war and came back with PTSD. Even if the VA was the best there’s not much they could do to treat PTSD and chronic pain. We just learn to live with it. The only hope is to find a decent therapist in the private sector. Oh, and don’t go it alone.
@Legalectric
@Legalectric Ай бұрын
I hope you'll take so many of the comments about PTSD, struggles to adjust to life back home, injuries and necessary physical and mental care to heart and do a 4 day stint at our VA in Bloomington, rotating through various outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. Returning veterans need support, and the VA funding has not been what's necessary -- too many veterans go without needed care. The VA helped both my WWII vet parents not only buy a house and get an education, but with medical care in advanced age. It's a very important resource that deserves more attention and a funding increase for all programs. Support our veterans. We owe them more than we can possibly repay.
@warriorKing2233

That is so well put. It's sad when our 🇺🇸 vets aren't treated well after service. It's especially MORE disheartening to know that 10s of millions are being sent to the terrorist organizations we are fighting instead.

OMG this was one of my fav videos. You rocked it. Kudos to the Marines for what they do day in and day out for all of us. I would have been crying on the obstacle course lol. Thank you for showing us a little bit of what they do.

I remember my 1st day reporting to BASIC (15th March 1988); It was gloomy; I was 21 years old and got drafted into Singapore Armed Forces to do my compulsory military service for the next 2 years and I haven't a clue what to expect. After 3 months of gruelling BASIC, I was assigned to 1st Battalion Singapore Guards (a Heliborne Battalion) as a Guardsman/Signaller. But thank God I made it out in piece (no major injuries; can't say for those who were unfortunate to die during training --RIP). Wild and crazy ride, something which forever etched in my memories.

I have been following you for many years. This is by far, the best content you have shared. The transparency this reveals of our military, puts a lot into perspective. I appreciate your dedication to everything you encountered. You, out of everyone I follow on KZbin, have shown me there is nothing you can’t accomplish. Thank you for being such a down to earth human being. Thank you, sir, I will be a forever fan of yours.❤

The amount of videos I've seen from KZbinrs doing "I spent X amount of days" with either the marines, navy or army is wild. They must really be hurting recruitment wise because they are paying everyone to promote it.

I think all the us armed forces have major drops in recruitment, and they’ve been quite open about it for over a year. They’ve incorporated different methods in training, as well as fitness camps leading up to bootcamp to promote success.

I’m a 68 year old grandmother who at the end of the Vietnam conflict was in the Air Force. I went in for the old GI bill but I can’t tell you just how proud I was after basic training. There were very few women in combat units in my time and I ended up working just as hard or even harder than the men. It was hard but worth it! Proud you decided to do this. People have no idea what the military is about unless you do it!

GREAT video Mavrik! This video, much like your Marine experience, is entirely up to the individual what they get out of it. Please remember that just because a hundred a-holes say something negative, does NOT mean it represents the the hundreds of thousands of people that watched the video. Haters gonna hate. Negative people tend to be the loudest ones. The more popular you get, the more hateful weirdos are going to come and leave off topic comments questioning people’s gender identity, sexuality and video choices (golf, snowboarding etc). That’s what insecure people who are unhappy with themselves do. Thankfully they represent less than 1% of your viewers. You’re crushin’ it. Keep on trucking’.
