My grandma took me to her show in Arizona. 90s. I was a little kid and Mary chapin was my favorite. We waited after the show, she signed my cd and I remember she had 2 golden retrievers that licked my face. I was the happiest kid ever. Lucky 😅

And thus begat the flood of Grammys, CMA and ACM awards for the girl from DC. The hits may not be coming these days, but she's still writing, singing and recording great stuff today.

I am 36 years old and I resonated with this song as a kid...hearing it now(not sure exactly what year it came out)I feel the same way ....todays country doesn't even compare to 90's country in my opinion!! Even now, just sitting outside with my mom 66, 30 years older than me, we both connect to it. Just like "Sold" by John Michael Montgomery...I always say to my friends or "rap genre" that was one of the first "raps" I learned...and remember every lyric, still, to this day...just like this song...telling a story.
