Күн бұрын

Neurosurgeon and nutritionist, Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, was professing about the microbiome decades before the physicians of the world learned of its existence. Her books distill complex microbial implications into simple, actionable steps. They have been translated into twenty-two languages and have empowered hundreds of thousands of people around the world to heal themselves. Her practitioner training, ongoing medical studies, and GAPS organization have had an outreach worldwide. If not for her books and support groups, I simply would not be alive today.
On today’s episode, we discuss her introduction with the microbiome, the juxtaposition of children’s health presentations today vs. two decades ago, the benefits of microbes, what the beneficial bacteria need to thrive, how the bacteria change form, advice on specific conditions, and much more!
Both Dr. Natasha and I will both be speaking at the Wise Traditions Conference in Kansas City on Oct 19-22, 2023. Buy your tickets here: www.wisetradit...
Find Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride online here - www.doctor-nata...
You can find out more info on GAPS here - www.gapsdiet.com
And you can purchase her books online from amazon.com or your local bookstore!

Was able to locate some raw milk which is heavily regulated in my state. Have been making kefir with it and this has been a game changer for me. Highly recommend. Believe raw milk is the key as store bought kefir was not effective.

I visited Poland several times in the 2010s and much of this health culture is still alive there, although I think it continues due to cultural tradition and not as a conscious effort, as far as I can tell. At a youth summer camp in the countryside, of which most of the attendees were from Krakow, there was a soup at lunch and dinner, lots of fermented foods, and everything was cooked from scratch.

Incredible interview, especially that last third! I’ve done so much research, including listening to both of these women, but this was the first time I heard any of what Dr. Natasha said regarding collagen disorders or cancer. Fascinating. I hope to see more education on this, though I know the pharmaceutical industry is not going to support research in this direction.

I've been watching Mary Ruddick's videos (mostly interviews with carnivore folks) and was surprised how much more I learned for this! Truly inspiring and informative even though many will get triggered by the perspective on cancer and parasites that are counternarratives. Dr. C-M is the Russian grandmother I never knew I needed!!

@clayleww Yes, I have heard many, many times that a cancerous tumor is just a symptom of something being wrong with the body. People often seem to think that the tumor itself is "cancer." Her explanation was very interesting.

I fully respect the wisdom of traditional diets. That said, I think we must be very careful about overgeneralizing and over interpreting. The average lifespan in Russia was 41 years in 1940 (before WWII). It increased - more or less - to the averages in the West, but maybe a few years less. In other words, it is hard to draw a direct conclusion about Russian traditional diets and lifespan.

How was this calculated? As an average including all killed and died during starvation during and after civil war, repression, WWII? I'm from Russia and my grandpa and grandma lived more than 80 years, so did my grangranma. Some died in WWII. You know, the generation of my grandparents seemed to be the strongest peopled I've ever seen (physically and emotionally) despite they came through hard times (WWII, starvation, working with uranium, 'crazy nineties').

I really Hope you two can give me the tools to save my life. Was signed up for rebels rising however have gained enough energy/determination by studying every aspect of Mary's journey as well as Dr Natashas Books. After suffering severe dysautonomia post covid-was gravely ill and then trying to overcome severe neuropathy and paresthesia from tick borne illness (bartonella and rickettsia), weakness etc. Was terrifying to say the least, was mainly vegan before hand. I found many commonalities between mary and myself- This is such valuable information. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart from Sydney, Australia! And I'd forgotten about adding some fermented food every day. Now, I'll get those added back in. I'm "this close" to sending the RA that has plagued me for more than four decades. I really want to prove to all those medical professionals that I've seen that healing is possible. 😊

Thank you Doctors. Love Y’all. Question: Relationship in the Human Gut between Enzymes, Microbes (foods that ferment) and Bacteria. Humans have a Enzymatic Digestive system. So consume meats that are digested by enzymatic process. Or foods that are pre-fermented. What about fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods and preservatives?? Does this introduce Bacteria that we can’t deal with???

Ask any Soviet expat and you’ll find that people were only “healthy” while they were young , till about 40. Retirement age was 50 for women , 55 for men exactly because people didn’t live much past the mid 60s. Your guest sugar coats the health of Soviet citizens. Not to mention the fact that meat was expensive and not available for poorer families.

@TheSpecialJ11

@@valivida995 I think it does. The Soviet Union treated some regions better than others, likely due to their economic situation. In a sense it's classic imperialism, the same as the West, where you exploit the fringe regions and nourish the core regions, so you have a strong core to run the empire and get it extra resources from the "colonies". This happened all over the industrial world. The United States treated West Virginia like a colony with brutal, exploitative living conditions at a time when upstate New York was flourishing.
