I had a total hysterectomy!! I was sent home with zero hormonal therapy!! They do not educate women on exactly what happen's to them physically, and pyschologically. It is a life changing experience, and the medical professionals performing these major surgeries need to educate themselves on the many life changing side effect's.

I am SSSOOOO glad to be going through this at this monumental time when a bright light is being shined on our suffering, we are being educated on how to advocate for ourselves and what to ask for and the medical community is FINALLY LISTENING!! Praise the Lord!

Why can’t women get vagifem from the chemist over the counter ????? It’s not as if we get high on using it, or sell it ?

My mom had a hysterectomy at 42. It was never explained to me why, just that she needed it. She was never given HRT. She started having panic attacks regularly. She went to a cardiologist and they said her heart seemed fine, as she was a life-long athlete. She spent a year with a cane, several years with a walker, and more than 10 years in a wheelchair before she died at 69 years old. I wonder if hormones played a role now, and lack of adequate healthcare.

Wow, I was a WW when I had a panic attack after calling my internal medicine doctor. Basically he quit me. I am now post bilateral hip replacements because of no HRT. I worked and for years and ran 10 marathons. None of that protected me. I now know if I had HRT I may have prevented my surgeries. I am on a mission to get the right healthcare team to make sure I don’t anymore surgeries.

I had a uterine ablation at 47 - I received zero info on HRT. I found an amazing MD who has helped me navigate the changes with an excellent bio identical compound along with lifestyle changes - I’m down 25 pounds of stubborn fat and I look I feel better than I have since my 30s.

👍 No one fits in a box. Everyone is a little different and we should KNOW OUR OWN BODIES so we can talk about these issues intelligently. Finding a doctor to listen, now that might take awhile.

I had a few symptoms at 40 also. At 56, just started having irregular periods. I think the symptoms receded during mid to late 40s. Back again, including weight gain, achy joints and muscles.

My ob/gyn's credentials indicate he's an expert on menopause. His suggestion for weight gain is to eat less, exercise more. Really?? And says because I'm not having hot flashes and night sweats...which i am NOT complaining, says I do not need HRT. But if estrogen is so beneficial why would he say it's not needed. So dang confusing!!

There isn't really a regulation that says if a doctor is up to date in the latest research on HRT. Dr. Haver's new book, The New Menopause, has a guide to help you identify the different symptoms that you might have and how to advocate with your doctor. thepauselife.com/pages/the-new-menopause-book

I started perimenopause at age 30 issues I never had before…..started my cycle 15-16, I think a lot influenced my cycle before I was conceived or when I was conceived I think my mom taken the pill twice in her life birth control pill affected my length and time I would be able to have children. I am now 38 almost a decade since I started at age 30 and now I have gained 30 plus pounds extra hard getting off and my cycles are screwed up huge ….January to March 2024 nothing if anything of a period …..I think I will be in menopause by 40. Premature menopause

@Dr.MaryClaireHaver,MD How does taking anxiety medicine / NSAIDS, lack of exercise/movement, and eating an unhealthy diet (lots of sugar & carbs, lack of proteins and healthy fats) as a child and teenage girl impact their health for their later years? 🙏🏼

Need more education for women that have full hysterectomy. I know you speak on menopause but what about when your body is thrown directly in into menopause. I don’t hear a lot of talk about that
