There is SO MUCH good content out there right now. This is a blessed period for chess enthusiasts. But, Danya, this 10min Speed Run is easily the best out there. Easily. The slower pace really gives you time to extract out positions. Incredible. So instructive. Please keep doing them.
@MyscBigdrop3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. This is miles ahead of Gothams "how to win at chess" for example. Which is really good btw.
@TDOLLA2 жыл бұрын
his pace is great. I was just studying some openings against the philidor and then I come across this jewel. I like Gothams stuff too but he he rattles stuff off so fast sometimes… almost like it’s a point of pride for him to be able to move and rattle off positions as fast as possible lol he will show 6 variations in like 15 seconds and then move on.

I think opening strategy is underrated at this level - realize that at your level, if your opponent has studied the opening at all, they probably will have one line that they like to play. Pick something a little more offbeat and they'll be out of their comfort zone sooner! My rating jumped after I stopped playing the italian with white and e4 e5 with black
@marksolvent32593 жыл бұрын
@@Force95042 Straight up. I was stuck at the 1250-1290 level for a bit but after playing unrated chess against stronger players, I was able to get through the 1300 barrier in one day. And the way to do it is to switch up the openings maybe by saccing a pawn in hopes that you can later outplay them
@smrtfasizmu61613 жыл бұрын
For me it is the opposite. I am 1700 and when I play against 1700s often times we both make stupid mistakes and I wonder how either one of us is rated 1700. Then when I watch Naroditsky or Levy play against 1700s I am like huh these 1700s are good. I guess the main reason for that is that both Naroditsky and Levy praise their opponents a lot when they play these speed runs or how to win at chess/climb the rating series. They point out the good moves and I notice them. When I play 1700s I kind of expect good moves and I only notice stupid moves.

So, everything about Danya's demeanor started to make sense to me when I realized he talks to his stream chat the same way he would talk to a classroom full of high school student. Lots of cheesy sayings, lots of "don't get excited, everyone calm down", vaguely stern, very calm and straight-forward. So that's just how I see him now, as a high school teacher, teaching his students. ... which made it really fucking funny when he said, "pin a bitch, win a bitch."
