i think his gang suspected him of treason, and asked him to come and face them, to check his loyalty. he took a gun for his security. the group was satisfied by his answers, and they had vodka to celebrate his loyalty to the clan. He had then to choose between loyalty to his wife (who was possibly the treator), and loyalty to his clan. he chose the clan. that's how i see it, because it's often like this in mafia movies : "gang is above girls" is their motto...

OK - that’s one possibility…an alternative would be that Schneider has been with the “woman in red” for a long time (too long) and, exposed to her influence, has neglected the close bond he once had with “his boys” (the band). She wants to win him (Schneider) for herself. She wants Schneider to promise her unconditionally: “…until death do you part”, knowing full well that she can exercise her own freedom to change partners unilaterally at any time if the opportunity for a better match/relationship arises and Schneider remains replaceable as her second choice. She sets the rules!! The band is aware of this influence and tests Schneider’s loyalty to the band. Schneider recognizes the intention of the woman who wanted to dissuade him from his true calling, music. The woman loses her bet to keep all options open on the partner market, independent of Schneider, and the band ultimately secures success through the “test”, which would not have been possible without Schneider as an indispensable part of the band.

Помню когда я впервые познакомился с их творчеством. Это было в 2001-м году. На Муз-ТВ поставили их клип Mutter. Песня и клип мне настолько понравились что сразу же побежал покупать аудиокассеты с их альбомами. Мне было 14. Сейчас мне 37 но я до сих пор их слушаю.

Schneider never intended returning to the woman in the video but took the gun in order to suggest that he was going to do away with his friends. The man on fire scene was what was happening in the woman's imagination because he hadn't come back out to her quickly. Schneider's loyalties were set from the moment that he took the gun from the bag but returned the bag to the back seat. Too late, his ladyfriend realised where his loyalties lay and before she could do anything, kaboom! Was he going to be faithful to her forever? Nein.

The video of this song is based on the movie "Reservoir Dogs" of Quentin Tarantino (1992) and one of the key points about this video is loyalty. After that, you can interpret the song in different ways (as usual in Rammstein song-writings) 📚🤓

the group started in 1994. first album, called "herzeleid", released in 1994. "du hast" was in the 2nd album, called "sehnsucht" , released in 1997. maybe the 1st clip ? not 100% sure. not really crucial though...

a bunch of friends. one marries a lady who tells him "no more going out with your friends they are disgusting" etc. she sends him to tell them he is not with them anymore since he is a married man now, but after a good party he says "screw my wife imma stayin with ya guys". thats more or less how the band described it)))) cause the song itself is a matrimonial vows in german but instead of "i do" till says "nein" - no.

Rammstein fan here Du Hast mich in German means “You have me”. As if his girlfriend controlled his actions and told him to kill aspects of his life that she doesn't like. That's why he comes in with the gun. But inside he finds himself and decides not to do it. The pronunciation of Du Hast mich is very similar to Du Hasst mich (or something like that, I'm not an expert in German), which means "You hate me." As if instead of loving him, she hated him for who he is. So leaving there, he decides to "kill" his girlfriend as a symbol of ending that relationship. Greetings and I can't believe Chels hasn't seen that iconic video until now.
