it just felt too sudden to me. The whole movie he was rejecting him, and before he saw it was Johnny he was even telling them to turn it off. Then all of a sudden, literally no development or build up, because he saw his son being successful and on tv he only now cares?? And then proceeds to miss almost all of his son's performance by breaking out of jail (coulda waited until he finished bc no way he was gonna get there on time). And it just felt like he was "hey I know I didn't care before but since you're good and on tv I'll support you". If Johnny wasn't good or didn't get attention w that performance the dad would've gone on not caring. I'm sure that's not what the writers were going for and they were probably just trying to quickly tie up each character's plot before the movie ended bc they were trying to do too much at once, but as a result the dad's apology felt rushed and fake to me.

@planarian5551 Hey man, it's a cartoon for kids. Calm down, alright?
@planarian555111 ай бұрын
@@justpuka1754 Just bc it's a "cartoon for kids" doesn't mean it's free from criticism tho, you know that right? And in fact, should be subjected to just as much if not more criticism than if it were for adults bc of the messages it could be giving kids. Most kids prob watched that scene and thought it was sweet and that's great!! but there's a possibility that some kids could take it to mean their parents won't respect their passion unless they become successful, and that would be harmful. And I am calm, I literally just stated my interpretation and opinion, I didn't use any aggressive language or say anyone else was wrong. Someone said their interpretation and how the scene made them feel and so I did too. Do you just automatically assume that someone is angry when they have a negative opinion on something? /genq

I'm so sad that you don't know the movie because the moment between Johnny and his father makes you feel even more emotional when you have the whole context and know their story. It's really the moment where a father who refused to accept his son's passion finally admits he was wrong and recognizes he should have supported him all along and it's really touching my soul because it's one of the things the movie did pretty well! I see many comments of people saying the movie's bad well honestly it's not. It's a pretty basic scenario but it's done well and with a simple story they just create relatable and adorable characters (and Mike). Really the movie's dumb in a good way, fun and the songs are killing it! Also you watching the songs in the wrongest way possible makes it really fun to see you wondering where the crowd's gone when again.... well you don't have the context we can't blame you haha

Fun fact: the one that voices mike (the mouse) also voices peter and brian griffin in family guy! Also 16:49 , the reason the majority of the crowd wasn’t there was because this was the first performance they did. The order went: Rosita and Gunter, Johnny, ash, mike, and then mina Edit 2: aight so basically originally the theater they were in wasn’t doing so great so they held a singing contest and the winner would get $1k, but ms. Crawly, (the lizard) made a typo so the fliers ended up saying $100k. At one point they tried to impress this one famous person so they remodeled the stage and filled it up with water and covered it with glass instead of wood to make it seem cooler, but then there’s this intense moment where the contestants realize they weren’t actually going to get the 100k and then the stage ends up breaking, causing the theatre to flood which destroyed the entire place. after a sad montage they reunited and rebuilt the theatre (not very well if you couldn’t already tell /s) where they went to sing not for the money but for their actual passions (cheesy ik)

Some people seemed to think it was a rush job trying to capitalize on Zootpia's success. Similar to how Bug's Life overshadowed Antz, Finding Nemo / Shark tale, Madagascar / The Wild. So on and so forth into perpetuity. So it would be great for more people to see what a fun romp this and the second movie is. Especially given a 3rd was only officially announced this year.

Ok you need to see the rest of this movie They stories these performances have are iconic (also Hallelujah from this movie is insane)

the fact he ended up watching them out of order cracks me up so much. He's so confused by why they doing things connected to previous songs lmao

As someone who also discovered Sing through videos of the songs on KZbin, watching someone go through the same reactions I had was both hilarious and nostalgic.

Oh! I really hope you do a part 2! These movies are unironically 2 of my favorites. They’re just so wholesome and fun, and filled with incredibly talented people that sound like they’re enjoying what they’re doing. If you do a part 2, my recommendation is “Hallelujah” from the first movie.

I'm disappointed you didn't include Tori Kelly's cover of Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing. She was the voice of Meena the elephant, and she almost brought down their stage with her song. You really do need to see the movie to get the context. You would love the audition scene performed by all sorts of animals covering many recognizable songs. Do another video of Meena's songs and the audition scene.

It's quite a laugh for me knowing you're watching the song/movie clips almost backwards. The crowds were just slowly started to show up. 😂 Here's their order: Shake It Off I'm Still Standing Set It All Free My Way Don't You With Bout a Thing (don't forget to watch this next video. That's the peak of their "theater show")

This is when he realized he needed to do the rest of the Sing movie like the opening scene is one to watch

It is a crime you didn't get to Mina/Meena's song. The entire movie is awesome, I loved the second one too.

If you watch carefully, the first three pulls against the prison bars Johnny's dad makes perfectly syncs with Johnny going "yeah, yeah, yeah" and I just love that

The movie is about a singing contest. And the prize for winning is a couple thousand dollars. Which is accidentally typed and printed off as $100,000.00. There's drama between all the characters. And when Judith (the llama) threatens to shut down Buster Moon's (the kola) theatre, he comes up with a singing contest and other seemingly brilliant ideas until things go south. It's a movie worth watching.

The first part of your video had been a scene from the 2nd movie. In this movie There's Bono, the singer from U2, as a voice actor and in the last part of the movie he's performing one of his own songs together with Scarlet Johanson. It's "Still haven't found what I'm looking for" and it's a banger...

Yes, @MathewMcKenna, I can help with the plot: Mr. Moon (the suited koala) owns a theatre that hasn't seen business in a very long time. In order to keep his beloved theatre open, he hosts a talent show with a 'cash prize' to the winner. The few that are selected to compete are Rosita & Gunter (the pigs), Johnny (the gorilla), Ash (the porcupine), Mike (the mouse) &, eventually Meena (the elephant). They try to do bigger & better effects, all with the promise that money due to keep the building open is coming- only for disaster to strike & parts of it to collapse. In order to go out swinging, those that are still dedicated to the show pick up the pieces & put it on just to bring awareness to the place. Parts that were missing from this reaction (that woulda given these scenes some context) include: - The compilation of auditions from everyone in town, including the selected singers. - A sweet rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" sung by the character Meena, which Mr. Moon discovered her vocal talents from. - Meena's big show-stopping number, "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing" by Tori Kelly, who also voiced Meena in the movie. And, to answer a couple other questions... yes, the song Scarlett Johannson sang was, in fact, an original to the movie compared to most of the songs featured. As for the first clip you saw, the wolf singing "Girl On Fire" was Ke$ha, so that's why it sounds so professionally done... because she is a professional singing it. Hope that helps- I would highly encourage you watch BOTH movies because they are very well done, even if the plot can feel disjoined every so often... the structure & how the characters grow throughout is welcoming, & the innovative care taken in revamping some of the songs featured were well done on a different scale.
