In OG DragonBall, Chichi actually was a decent fighter. She made it all the way to the Budokai main stage to face off against Goku. He DID knock her out of the ring with a single hit, but she did still beat every non-superhuman combatant in that tournament. She's a legitimate martial artist, just not on the level of the Z-fighters.

The whole Piccolo feeling like Vegeta is basically because he was the OG villain in the original Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Z he starts out more like rivals until he is completely changes. As for the King Piccolo thing, that is also in OG Dragon Ball which he is a villain but is a different character that is not Piccolo.

Also he did use the giant form when he faced Goku in the last Budokai Tenkaichi of the original dragon ball. As weird and quirky as it is people should seriously watch dragon Ball thru. Just bite your lip when roshi acts like an perv and muscle thru it it's a great series and liquid very true also because piccolo was a favorite of the creator he let him shine in all the movies. Just think about how stoic and cool he was in dead zone and how he faced all of coolers squad by himself. He gets a lot of love in the movies

The Four Star Dragon Ball isn’t just a random name but a Ball belonging to Son Goku but one that the first Gohan aka Grandpa Gohan had. Goku at 11 was guarding and cherishing of his late Grandfather which he always tries grab it again after a wis.

Answering all of Mattables' questions week 14: 1. The movies aren't technically canon but in theory Lord Slug would take place magically in the middle of the Goku vs Frieza fight, before Goku goes Super Saiyan. 2. Chi-Chi is fighting with her baby boy. 3. It's a real dragon ball. 4. Bulma didn't have any need for a wish I suppose. 5. So rule is you can't wish for any raw power stronger than Kami, so Lord Slug gets around that by wishing for him to deage back to his prime. 6. That's the power of Chiaoutzu yes. 7. Yes they looped it for that but. 8. Piccolo has always been a badass and his snark is more clever while Vegeta's is more ego driven. Though in all fairness they are both voiced and written by the same guy, Lanipator. 9. Yes, Vegeta is really watching them. No I don't think he was in the original. 10. No, Piccolo could not fuse with Lord Slug since Lord Slug would have to consent. 11. No one ever makes optimal use of their abilities. Best not to overthink or it will drive you crazy. 12. Goku has a large history of heabutt KOing people dating back to when he was a kid. 13. They do enjoy making songs. 14. Guru is Lord Slugs other half. Just like Kami and Piccolo are two halves of a Namekian warrior.

Chichi's not exactly normal. She's the daughter of the Ox King, who was trained by Master Roshi. She was a martial artist too back in the day, and was adept at the turtle school fighting style. She's mostly just not interested in fighting.

Namekians like Piccolo and Slug have very sensitive hearing. They can hear things super quiet and far away, but their weakness is high-pitched sounds that really hurt them. Whistling is enough to completely incapacitate them.

7:30 yes, Chichi was actually a fighter herself before having Gohan, she is one of the strongest humans on the planet on psycal strenght and Martial arts alone. 7:55 because that dragon Ball has especial sentimental value to Goku, it was of his grandpa Gohan, once he died Goku kept the dragon Ball as a memorial to him, so once he had a son, not only did he name him Gohan after his grandpa, but he also gave him the dragon Ball that belonged to his grandpa, come on, this is basic DB knowledge. 9:13 there is no real reason, they just don't want to search for them when they don't need to, is not like anyone would be able to find all of them and use them whitout Bulma's radar, especially whit one of them being own by Goku. 10:48 as everyone already explained to you on the previous movie, the dragon can not Grand more power that what It's creator has, he can deage you to your prime or maybe let you acces power you already have whitin you, but it can not give you more power if you are already strong. 15:31 Picolo has always been the most grounded character on the show, at least on the original. 17:46 not in the original movie, in the original movie he just dosn't seem to exist, the Scene of Vegeta waching TV was taken from some point of the Cell Saga judging by Trunks sword being on the room. 20:15 you really need to wach the original series, you seem to remember nothing abaut it. 25:09 Yes, acording to the original movie, since namekians have super hearing the sound frequenci of a wisle causes them a lot of pain, but as already said, movies aren't canon. 36:33 na, that's just his favorite way of killing namekians in specific XD All the jokes abaut calling Slug Picolo and characters saying that something feel familiar its because this movie is like a cheap, compress and less well writen copy of the King Picolo(Picolo father) ark on the original DB.

After Goku defeats lord slug he says something like “now that I’ve beat king piccolo, I can wish back master Roshi, Chiaotzu, and krillin” this was referencing the fight against the actual king piccolo because they all died. I JUST got that while watching this reaction

Namekians have a really good hearing. This will also be shown later than the line during a scene. So whistling to them is sort of like having their ears ringing times 1000

When piccolo broke the light it kicked off Stone Cold Steve Austin’s theme music 😂 you missed that. Also, the tune Gohan whistles when piccolo rips his ears off is the intro to the Andy Griffith show 😂 another great reference

17:58 Goku can really only go Kaioken at this point in time and it put a huge strain on his body so it isn't practical for him to do 100% right off the bat. Like he learned to mitigate it over time but there's a reason he stopped used it (beside turning super sayain of course but even that takes a lot of energy out of him) it basically crippled him if he used it for prolonged periods of time, his original fight with Veagta is a perfect example.

Piccolo can also grow larger and stretch his arms. This was a different telling on king piccolo. Powerful namekian comes to earth and splits into 2 namekians ( kami and king piccolo / super kami guru and slug) one good one evil. Both grow old the good one is the guardian of their planet and dragon balls so if they die the dragon balls stop working. Goku kills the evil half by flying through their stomach (how king piccolo dies in og dragon ball) except king piccolo spits out and egg creating piccolo we know now. Piccolo and kami are connected because they used to be one and if one dies so does the other.

The not-so-subtle joke is that the original Lord Slug movie is just a rehash of Dragon Ball's King Piccolo storyline compressed into a Dragon Ball Z movie. Charlie Brown is always getting a rock. Villains in DBZ Abridged love to sing. It's a running gag. The animation studio almost jumped the gun on the Super Saiyan transformation. It wasn't yet introduced in the manga yet. At least, that is from my understanding. This is a "fake" Super Saiyan. Regular Lord Slug is a terrible movie. Things just happen and that ANIMATION ERROR is actually in the movie. Team Four Star did their best to whip this movie into shape.

I think one of the biggest rules the Dragonballs have is that the Dragon itself is limited by the power of its creator; this is what keeps the Dragon from directly killing powerful enemies, or from breaking the plot. Funny enough, they did do the whole “wishing to be the strongest” bit in Super, and the Dragon that did that even revealed that sorta wish requires a great sacrifice, but is totally possible. Of course, it really causes the story to go off the deep end trying to justify how the main cast defeats the villain after that, so maybe it’s best we stay away from that… Edit to add: the whole bit with Disturbeds “Stupify” during the credits is because in the American version of the Lord Slug movie, the studio decided (for whatever reason) to loop the intro of that song when Goku goes into the not-quite Super Saiyan form. I’m almost certain it’s the one time a Dragonball movie used licensed music for any reason, and it’s kinda hilarious when you think about it

The movie are never connected truly to the series most are created by a different writer and director. But Team Four Star try to incorporate the current episodes. Only two movies come close to working. The Bardock movie And Wrath of the Dragon which is done after the series. And Bardock and Broly are the only Z movies characters to be canonized

Cooler is mentioned to exist (Sorbet initially went to find him in the galactic fringe after Freiza/Cold's deaths but gave-up and settled for trying to bring back Frieza/Cold instead), but that's all we know about him canonically. It's unclear if he's anything like his movie version, or when he does eventually become relevant if they'll pull a Broly and he'll have only a passing resemblance.

The movies were never conected to the series so most of them can not be place in a timeline whit the show that makes sense, also, all of them until battle of gods were non canon. After this movie you really should go back to the series.
