My Rog 5 works, not like a beast though. It is on android 13. Vibration and fingerprint stopped working almost a year ago. It is something loose inside. I could fix it in a service center. But it takes time and money. Not worth it as after fixing that for the first time the issue came back after a few months. This phone is overengineered compared to its contemporary phones. Also ROG series is not vfm anymore either since the price of them has become double in India. Probably switching to Oneplus 13 soon. Btw, I switched to ROG5 from Oneplus 5.

The best ROG phone was ROG phone II (i still got it ),after that everithing goes bananas with ROG phones (especially in the price department)-i change phone every year (samsung ultra line is main phone )and every 2 years gaming phone ( curently red magic 8s pro from last year). ASUS can charge premium for ROG line only if they deliver BEST gaming phone,but they dont-like all gaming phone brands they are inferior in material ,camera,softwear support is poor and limited ( why they dont offer something like samsung DEX for a big screen gaming).If they make PREMIUM phone like Apple or Samsung with all the best gaming fitures i will pay premium and carry only one phone, till den red magic offer more for the money in gaming department and Samsung and Apple in premium department.

ASUS ROG Phones also don't support eSIMs outside of Japan and Taiwan, so this really limits your ability to travel with these phones. This is a deal-breaker for me. 2 years of software upgrades is also pathetic in 2024. I'll be looking at Xiaomi 15 Pro (international version) or OnePlus 13 (international version) which have bigger batteries than the ASUS ROG Phone 9. I might also consider the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

2yrs of software update is well enough. U can be absolutely fine with 1yr old android version so thats 2+1 =3+ yrs. If software is priority then samsung and iPhone are the only option.

Asus adds sharpness and smoothening which makes the image look more like an oil painting and because of that details get removed. You can see it in the moon pic before it. It looks cleaner on the asus phone but there’s a lot less detail from the craters and darker spots.

I've been thinking about why we don't have AAA games on phone like this, or at least on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the list goes bigger. You know, the iPhone 15 Pro&Max and the 16 series can run AAA games(AC mirage, DS, RE7, etc. It's so frustrating that companies don't do this! They could make so much more money from Android users than iOS users! And let me tell you, in my community, iPhone users don't really care about these gaming features, unlike us Android users.

AAA games on mobile devices are a joke. They run at 30 fps and can only be played for half an hour before the device overheats and frame drops occur, going from 30 fps to 20 fps. It's only a matter of time before you start having motherboard issues.

2 was Asus burned out after 3 years of use. I went into Genshin Impact, played for 20 minutes and it turned off forever. I bought 5s later, both phones burned out, the second phone burned out first the Wi-Fi module, then it was repaired and a week later the phone itself burned out and did not turn on anymore, I do not recommend taking this model. Bro, nothing, played for 3 hours a day on about ultra settings, plus sat in tik toks periodically, did not do anything else, I do not advise buying this model, the master told me so, they have a bad cooling system and the chip burns out quickly and the thermal paste disappears after a year of use on the central processor. Now two corpses are lying in the nightstand, I advise you to take 10 pro red magic, it has adequate cooling at least plus liquid metal cools the processor, and not ordinary thermal paste.

This is surely only for those who play games regularly, as it is very expensive-£1300 for the 512GB/16GB version. Most flagship phones have superior cameras and OS upgrade cycles, making the ROG only for a niche market, and RedMagic is likely to arrive soon at around half the price, maybe only for hardcore ROG superfans. Battery life with a large battery and only 1080p is no surprise. But from what I have seen, nothing is above similar-sized SD8G4 phones. However, I suspect fans with deep pockets will find this a great gaming phone.

These gaming phones are always riddled with bugs and poor support. I've had 3 rog phones and currently own a redmagic8. All 3 rog phones had hardware failures and broken updates. The failures basically made the phones unusable, 2 of them had cell antenna fail and the other had wifi antenna failure. My redmagic8 has lots of bugs but no hardware failures.

Phone performance is the last thing I care about. My S21 Ultra still is years in. All premium phones have decent performance these days.

You can selectively under or overclock nearly all of the hardware components to emphasize performance or battery endurance. The one-touch X Mode overclocks everything to maximum. You can also create power profiles for any app. I had one game that really needed fast touch response. Other than that, I run at maximum underclock for maximum battery endurance. It's still fast (ROG 5s). Ditto for charging. You can control charge rate and maximum charge level and also monitor battery temperature. I usually use slow (15W) charging and go to max (65W) when I'm in a rush. I set max charge to 90%. Three years in, and no capacity loss. My wife and kids have Galaxies, and they can't touch Asus in these areas.

I'd say overall it's on par. Slightly lower single, decently higher multi, much higher gpu. As a gaming phone, it's about on par reliability wise, as this mostly relies on single core. But better overall as better battery better refresh rate, only downfall is screen quality. Multi use is again probably on par, it has a higher multi but apples ios is more efficient for multi tasking at the moment. Which for the most parts will even it out. I'd much prefer it over a iphone, but i still cant justify having only this, instead of a flagship. -10 pts for being asus. We all know how shitty of a company they have bern this past year in regards to their customers

@@arianugroho it's way too overpriced. Unless it has a really good camera with that price sure. It's cheaper to get a handheld console that are far superior and we can still afford to buy a decent phone for gaming with a good camera with that price.

Front camera video...iPhone had 4k and looks like total crap. The ROG video was better, easily

I can't use the language Asus deserves. The Rog Phone 8 had two buttons on the back fan. The 6, and 7, had four. This telephone is trash, and Asus as a company is a failure. Although, the Asus Phones have gaming aspects, like seperate sensitivity controls, which for me are the most important part, they are not ever spoken about. The only way to get full computer movement for the game Player Unknown's Battlegrounds on the Mobile version, New State, is with an Asus Rog Phone. The biggest disappointment since the Asus Rog Phone 8. Which, is super cheap anywhere, compared to the never price dropping Asus Rog 7.
