I hope you all enjoy my take on this delicious Trinidadian delicacy. This is a great breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack item. And you can customize it as much as you want.
Ingredients and Measurements:
For the channa:
1.5 cups soaked channa/chickpeas
1/2 cup dhal/split peas
1 tbsp. curry powder
1/4 tsp. dye/tumeric
1/2 tsp. geera powder (roasted ground cumin)
1/4 tsp. amchar masala
1/2 onion chopped
2 pimento peppers (optional)
6 cloves garlic
2 tbsp. green seasoning
2 tsp. baking soda
oil
salt to taste
water
For the dough/bara:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. yeast
1/2 tsp. tumeric/dye
salt to taste
2 tsp. sugar (brown or white)
water
oil to fry
