Been pouring jigs for a while and I find using the silicone insert you can get from do-it a better choice for the powder paint process, paint will come off them easier than the metal inserts. Hope this helps you or anyone else that may watch this video.

Haven’t tried the silicone ones. Haven’t had issues with the metal ones.

@@MattLunaFishing cool, I'll check it out. Was checking out some of your older content today. We still need to do a soft bait mold swap sometime! :D

Do the do it molds come with the weed skirt pins
@MattLunaFishing3 жыл бұрын
So molds do. Pay attention to which mold has them and which doesn’t. I’d also recommend but a pack of extra one. They are called base hole pins.

If you buy from DoIt molds please use this link to go to their website. This is the only way they’ll know i sent you. store.do-itmolds.com/?AffId=5

Great video!!! Where do you get your skirt material!?!?
@MattLunaFishing3 жыл бұрын
I think the material in this video is round rubber! You can get it here: store.do-itmolds.com/?AffId=5 Search “Round Filament Rubber “

Did you have to modify your mold so it could be used with those owner hooks?

No, the fit in there fine.

@@MattLunaFishing for anything more than 1/2oz would you go up to a 4/0 or stay with a 3/0 hook?

I stay with the 3/0 but you can totally do a 4/0 of you prefer

Really great video! Is the led expensive to buy? I would think that would be the most expensive part. I never knew how easy it was to make a jig. Thanks for sharing!
@MattLunaFishing5 жыл бұрын
Lead isn’t too expensive if you find it local or at a scrap yard. I’ve rarely ever even bought lead. I’ve gotten it free from different places. It’s not cheap if you buy it direct from a retailer. Still cheaper overall if you buy the components and make a jig than buying jigs from the store.

@@MattLunaFishing Awesome brother thanks for taking the time for the info. Really does make sense to do it that way rather than buy them. Thank you again for all the info.

You’re welcome! You just have to decide what you use a lot and will have confidence in if you make it yourself. Having confidence in the bait is key!

I honestly don’t remember. I’ve had that thing for a long time. I think i bought it from a guy at some sort of fishing swap meet a long time ago. I haven’t seen anyone with one like it since.

Why not have the rubber band dead center on tge skirt?
@MattLunaFishing3 жыл бұрын
You need the top longer so it lays evenly at the bottom of the jig.

Great Video! I do have a question about the weed guard. I've seen others talking about jigs and I've heard alot about cutting down the weed guard to the barb of the hook. Is something you recommend or is it a preference thing?
@MattLunaFishing5 жыл бұрын
I used to cut down the weedguard but I’m not the biggest fan of it. I think cutting the weedguard makes the weedguard harder to get past the hook for when you get a bite and set the hook. The longer weedguard give more leverage over the bend and the weedguard is able to go past the hook easier
