Just a quick video suggestion on how to power the winch on your smaller trailer so you can get away from jump box and power issues. Hope you see this I don’t know how else to get it to you lol

Sure can This is the connector: 350A Battery Connector AWG 2/0 Quick Connect Battery Modular Power Connectors Quick Disconnect (Grey) a.co/d/3ywcU8x You could use this for cabling: 1/0 Gauge 1/0 AWG 25 Feet Black + 25 Feet Red Welding Battery Pure Copper Flexible Cable Wire - Car, Inverter, RV, Solar a.co/d/c8Ii0oQ You want as pure as copper cabling as possible. The cable has a nice chart you can reference as well.

Good idea, but I would be wanting to take it a step further. and run & fix the cables and plugs to the inside vehicle, Keeping them out of the mud and sand, and out of harms way in general. More importantly, keeping them off the ground means nobody is going to trip over them and need to be rushed to hospital, especially when an Ambulance is not able to reach you. Just be sure to run Fuses and an Isolator as close to the battery as possible.

It was a quick video, I have a circuit breaker right on the battery for it. If the cables stay with the trailer you won’t have to have a set run for each vehicle. I’m cheap, but you do make a good point.

I agree that you don't need a battery on the trailer, but why not run the jump cable permanently under the truck to the rear bumper? Unless of course you use the cable on multiple trucks.

Oh for sure you can, I live in Pa. I didn’t want the cables exposed to the salt/brine they put down in the winter which would shorten their life, the cables aren’t cheap lol

I have mine run under my truck, to both the front and rear, water-tight connections all the way to the Anderson plugs, which admittedly I've had to replace twice in the last 10+ years . . . but that included driving that truck in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington, California, and all the way to Prudhoe Bay, AK (and too many places to list in between) in all 4 seasons. If done right, there is no reason why it shouldn't last for quite a while and the only issue being the connections at the Anderson plugs corroding from exposure to road salt, sea water, and all the other elements that love to eat bare metal.

@@janacke11 I have multiple tow rigs and trailers. For me its just easier to keep the cables with the trailers and each rig has it own plug. Nothing wrong with affixing the cables to the rig though.
