In this video I show some more instructions on using the Photo Tessellator 2022 Action set to work with various types of images and artwork and showing how to try different actions with various colors and options to get the best type of separation possible with a particular design. Near the end of the video I show some of the most advanced and latest developments added to the 1.8 action update which allow you to automatically choose custom hues and custom greys to all interlock together for a complex photographic image.
I am only just scratching the surface of what is possible with this product so stay tuned for more instructional videos and examples, and soon we will be taking these into making films, screens, and printing to show just how it all comes together if you're using the program for the purpose of screenprinting separations for example.

Love how you can choose custom colors for separation! I had to redo a bunch of effects earlier today because the colors werent in Simple Seps's pool of color which just leads to muddy separations trying to blend multiple colors instead of just having a nice strong spot color for those effects. Definitely gonna have to look into this more!

@@jordanb7304 Get ready for even more exciting possibilities... I'm about to show a new web-based application that can make the whole process even easier and more real-time... I'm always striving to get to the point we have the most ideal, capable, and easy to use tools possible. Usually I am exploring the proof-of-concepts and finding what can be done in different programs, then eventually that led to me learning to write my own image processing methods, and now I'm going to be getting into updating the photoshop actions into more plugin panels again, as well as making standalone software and web applications to do things like this. I still have to try and caution people not to approach these things as if they will always make it easier or better, especially for a given professional industry use-case like screen printing, but that is my eventual goal with some of these developments. (Like we could enter in all sorts of variables for a specific setup, certain dot types you want, angles, LPI, picking the colors, then choosing which ones contribute to the base, choking/trapping, dot-gain control... all of that will be things I eventually would put into a more industry-specific tool) I'm also the main developer behind the SimpleSeps Raster program for Corel Draw, but I have not worked with Advanced Tshirts since about 2014. It has some amazing capabilities but it does go through a slow step-by-step process and when choosing custom colors they are not blended to each other, and then you have to take things into SimpleSeps to convert to halftones. I went into more developments within the Photoshop plugin and actions, went into working at multiple different shops to master the actual screen printing side that I hadn't done as much in my first ten years doing graphics and separations usually, and so gaining all of that experience and now having my own print studio with all of the equipment has all been invaluable to helping me make even better color separation automations and tools that really help us with the things we encounter. The new web app is amazing even in just the first version I'm about to release at what its capable of, and if you've purchased a product from me in the past you will get credit towards accessing the web app, and vice versa. I've never seen anything else out there that can do what it does, so I can't wait to put out these new videos. You would still utilize some of the photoshop actions after using the web app to help break it down into layers and create an underbase etc, but you'll see just how useful it can be when you can control the number of colors and what those colors are, in real time, and be able to switch the halftone patterns around and which size they are, without having to go through a step-by-step process like in the photoshop actions. I'll drop a link here for you when the new video is online. Hopefully today!
